Group 7-day waking average?

Morning, 6.1 which has risen to 7.6 in an hour and a half..! I'm guessing pregnancy hormones must have something to do with this as I've not really struggled with dawn phenomenon since my pre pump days. Or maybe it's whatever virus I currently have.

Feeling a bit better today but taking one more day from work as I'm still shattered. Going to read more of my book and maybe brave the outside for a walk later this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day 🙂

A 6.2 for me today. 🙂

5.5 today.

I'm half way through a potentially disastrous hair experiment. Hoping today sees it right. My hair has been dyed for years - pink, purple, blue, green but mostly shades of red. There is red in our family - my eldest is the most glorious golden red and has been since the day he was born (as an aside: his was an emergency birth when his heartbeat dipped very low so I was rushed to theatre. When he was born, inside of announcing that he was OK and, y'know, actually breathing, the consultant just shouted with delight 'Oh, he's a ginger one'. I can laugh now - especially as he's a healthy gorgeous 6'2 ginger Viking!!) I digress.

I'm naturally going quite grey now and red dyes don't cover it well so I'm trying to get back to a colour that will let me grow in my grey. Yesterday was stage 1 with colour remover and bleach. Years and years of different dyes means the colour stripped at very different levels so I currently have very odd multi toned hair - ranging from platinum at my roots through orange to pale brown at the ends - I look like a sunrise .

Fingers crossed, the new dye I have bought to cover evens things out. Otherwise I'll be buying a wig before I go back to work.

Hope everyone has a good day with minimal hair concerns!!

5.6 on waking today.

@eggyg - have fun with the new washing line . No chance for us to use ours today yet, unless we take the attitutude of ignoring the rain and saying “It can stay out until it’s dry”!

More tiling work being done, hopefully the hall by the front door will be mostly done today. Yet there seems to be a long list still of finishing bits and pieces everywhere else. It sometimes feels as if we’ll never get the house straight again!

Take care everyone.

Sun's back, and how - streaming through the windows at the moment, despite the BBC Weather App on my phone showing ten tenths cloud all day. Who'd be a weather forecaster, eh?

Usual Tuesday - swim before lunch and meeting my wife around 4 when she picks up the dog she walks for the lady who can't do it herself. In between, some grocery shopping.

Anyone had the Shingles jab? I've been reading about how painful Shingles can be, especially a form known as Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, and as I qualify for the vaccine I'm thinking about booking an appointment.

Congrats on the HS yesterday @Pam123 I just missed out this morning with a 5.4

Have a good day, everyone.

@BobbleHat Good luck! What colour are you going for?

Congrats on the HS yesterday @Pam123 I just missed out this morning with a 5.4

Have a good day, everyone.
OH had his when he turned 70, I asked him about it, and he can’t remember having any side effects from it. Someone I know was telling me last week that their mother has got Shingles at the moment, and it’s all round her eye on one side, her eye is swollen, and very painful.
I’m not eligible yet. They are now doing people who turn 65, but people who had turned 65 before they brought that in, but who aren’t yet 70 (ie, me!) aren’t eligible.

Morning at 7.5, but took a small amount of glucose when alarm for low approaching at 2am. Had breakfast and then changed my Dexcom 1+ sensor. When it had warmed up (20 mins) the alarm went off immediately for a 3.7 with arrow pointing down. The graph seems to have reset at a much lower level. I’m going to wait a while to see if it settles down before swallowing more glucose …

Morning all and 8.7 for me. Levels went off on one yesterday.

@Martin.A had the shingles jab no problem at all. Having seen how nasty the virus was for MIL i didn't want to risk it.

Prescription to collect no Creon but I'm assured it's on its way.

Rehearsal tonight. No orders received for the rest of the day but it's a bice sunny one. Washing fluttering gently on the line.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi all 6.8 despite a banana at 6am

I had the shingles jab as soon as I qualified as I recall my Gran had shingles in her late 80ies and ended up in hospital as it was all in her head, it had a lasting effect and she was unable to live independently.

I had shingles in my 20s and it was incredibly painful, it was on my back and even fabric touching it was very painful together with a burning feeling under the skin an experience I wouldn’t want to repeat, especially as I get older and have an even lower pain threshold

Morning all. An unhealthy 3.9 for me today, more chocolate before bed me thinks.

Have a great day folks and stay well.

8.6 dropping 7.4 so just a little rise, 7.7 before brekkas. Feeling very jittery today, almost panicking but I know not why?

My BG started to behave at 7pm last night... they continued to be 6-7 all night too. Hopefully they'll behave today.

OH has been washing since early on as I spoke with my brother about building jobs on the hoose, and contacted the sparky to give us the all-clear on the 'lectrics.

OHs knicker drawer has collapsed too, so another 'little' job - my don't they mount up when you turn your back!

Hey Bobblehat - why not let it just go grey, I really like that, if nicely cut and shaped this can look terrific.

Morning all and a much brighter one it is too. Off for a walk with my friend shortly.

6.8 and no hypos overnight. Will see if it continues tonight. I adjusted basals little by little overnight - total only .5u.

Last night's Double Lemon Chicken with dill polenta was just lovely! I didn't do the Leeks as I had a load of spinach and peas leftovers. Hubby really liked it. Also it was very easy. I made twice the quantity and we'll finish it up tomorrow night as I will be out for the afternoon.

@Martin.A I had the shingles jab when offered and I don't recall any side effects at all.

Oh - and @Bloden I found exactly the same with the Omnipod HCL. Useless.

Hope you all have a good day!!!

Morning folks. A 7.4 for me. The sun was shining when I went to keep fit class at 9.15. Now it's grey and dreicht. Think it will rain soon. No gardening today but I have craft club this afternoon. Cleaning out the chicken coop later. Hubby will have to stand guard as Bugle, our cockerell, is very feisty and protective of his girls now Spring is here. Went for me twice in a week so don't want to leave my back unguarded. Already have a few scratches on my leg.

Sorry to hear that your mum is still in hospital @freesia . I hope they let her home soon.

Congrats for your HS yesterday @Pam123

@BobbleHat what transition colour are you considering?

Decided to really go for it at keep fit today. I had 2 slices of seeded bread with almond butter and one slice with butter and a scrape of orange marmalade. BG tested when I got home (2 hour mark) and it was 7.8. Barely above test first thing which I did just before breakfast.

@BobbleHat Good luck! What colour are you going for?
I'm trying to embrace going grey but I'm not ready to do it 100% au natural so I've stripped the old dye and then replaced it with a smoky silver, in the hope that I can grow into my natural salt and pepper.

I'm quite pleased. There were too many layers of red in my hair for the bleach to fully strip them so now my hair is smoky silver on top grading into an auburn at the bottom. It's the closest to my real hair I've been in 30 years! It's a little uneven but not noticeably so but considering it cost me £15 for 2 boxes of dye instead of the £200 my hairdresser quoted me, I can live with that! Especially given how patchy it was after the bleach yesterday!
