Group 7-day waking average?

Sun's back, and how - streaming through the windows at the moment, despite the BBC Weather App on my phone showing ten tenths cloud all day. Who'd be a weather forecaster, eh?

Usual Tuesday - swim before lunch and meeting my wife around 4 when she picks up the dog she walks for the lady who can't do it herself. In between, some grocery shopping.

Anyone had the Shingles jab? I've been reading about how painful Shingles can be, especially a form known as Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, and as I qualify for the vaccine I'm thinking about booking an appointment.

Congrats on the HS yesterday @Pam123 I just missed out this morning with a 5.4

Have a good day, everyone.
yes, a couple of years ago when I was having a flu jab.....no problems. I had shingles years ago......horrid experience .

And Hba1c repeat test is back from the GP…. 35

Which tallies nicely with the result from the hospital a few weeks ago. Clearly dropping tonnes of weight does have an impact on general health!

It also has an impact on clothes shopping. I bought a size 31 trouser today and a T-shirt in Small. Granted the T-shirt is perhaps harking back to my full on clubbing days as it’s so tight I can’t actually breathe but I’ll enjoy owning it (until I come to my senses tomorrow and take it back!).

Kaftan update. The resent lost package arrived. The silver sleeveless one is truly hideous as well as being see through so that’s going back.

Oh and 5.8 this morning 🙂
Congratulations on your hbA1c result. Fabulous! Shame about the kaftan. From the photo it looked like it would be nice beachwear over swimwear although it did look a bit transparent.
As for the new T shirt. Make a few rips across the chest add some chains and go proper retro.:D

Morning all, 4.3 here, Dawn has disappeared for the moment.
Was so pleased with my pony yesterday, I had a hypo half way round a solo hack, heard the Libre alarm, but was plummeting so fast I was in hypo territory straight way. He’s normally a fidget if we’ve got to do a gate, etc, but I stopped him in the middle of the bridleway, and he stood stock still while I faffed around getting jelly babies out, then having to take my gloves off to open the placcy bag they’re in, he didn’t even think about wandering to the verge for a snack (if he had but known, I’d have let him! It’s normally forbidden while he’s being ridden, but it doesn’t stop him trying on occasions, but it would have kept him occupied while I faffed). Then we rode on, got to the corner where we turn onto a grassy track and he normally starts speeding up because he knows we often canter up it, but he waited for me to tell him it was OK to go faster, I swear he was thinking, are you OK now, Mum?
Ahh, what a good lad. He’s now a service pony in my eyes. He deserves a medal and a multi pack of polos.

Well done @Daffers on your 5.2. :star: My reading was a 5.5 first thing. 🙂

6.5

Morning today I’m joining @BobbleHat on the 5.3 step

BS dropped in the night (down to 3.8) I'm thinking and I’m not 100% certain - did I jabbed the reduced to 6 from 8 units of insulin, thinking I did 8
for about the last week reduced down to 6 both morning & evening

Today need to turn on work computer and get my February expenses claim in
plus a claim for the 4 days I worked in March
I'm told at the end of this month, accounts department won’t be accepting anymore (working flat out on year end) then obviously next month it’s new financial year so whilst I’m off plus gets my head back in semi-work mode, thinking about work TBH I’m still not 100% confident that if I do RTW in 2 days time, I’m actually fully ready, a GP already given me another week signed off If needed

think I will see how today goes, also already booked a days holiday (next Monday) for my next appointment at DMO clinic, the consultant (when I was seen a month ago) did talk about depending on how the swelling is following the injection (had Vabysmo last month) my second Ozurdex might be the best treatment, so maybe be better for me to plan my RTW following that treatment 🙄 decision, decisions.

well done on that Hba1c result @ColinUK congrats, a fantastic achievement you’ve put a lot of effort in

congrats on todays HS @Daffers :star:

Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody 😎

Morning folks. I have joined @Bloden on the 7.3 step today.
Mixed start to the day. Our cat threw up a hairball under the dining table. Luckily it's a tiled floor. Opened the kitchen door to let her out as she was still retching. The sky was a soft muted light around 7am very misty and poetic. Then a few families of blue tits arrived in the pear tree nearby, singing their little hearts out. How lovely!
Hubby is driving a friend to Alfreton this morning to collect a new car.

So impressed with your pony @Robin they do sense when you are not well.
Congrats on your HS @Daffers .
Hope that your BG levels have gone down by now @freesia

Everyone have a good Wednesday. I'm off to the hairdresser this afternoon for a trim and tidy.

5.8 on a lovely, sunny Berkshire morning. Wednesday is my favourite weekday as everyone's gone to work and I'm home alone with a day to myself. Looks like it's going to be a dry day so I'm likely to spend a large part of it in the garden tackling our dogwood and getting the rest of the garden into some kind of shape. Fortnightly garden waste collection tomorrow so that'll save me a trip to the recycling centre.

Thanks for the replies about the Shingles jab. It definitely sounds like something I wouldn't want to get. I'll contact the surgery today and try and get an appointment.

Congratulations on your HS this morning @Daffers

Hope everyone's getting some of this lovely Spring sunshine.

Bonjour, 6.6 for me this fine morning. I have a couple of mail order shrubs arriving today. Hopefully I can get them in the ground without putting my back out again!

Morning all! I am with @freesia on the unfathomably high step! 🙄 She has beaten me for the top slot but only just. 11.9 for me.

My levels kept dropping low last night from about 5pm onwards and needed multiple jelly babies and even a biscuit and 2 Snickers Celebrations at Ian's with my cup of tea before I finished evening stables late due to another hypo, so decided that I needed a basal reduction (only 1 unit) last night and a few nuts before bed. That definitely wasn't a good decision! My normal trend is to drop when I go to sleep but I went the other way and I was above range all night. I jabbed 10 units Fiasp this morning to cover FOTF and breakfast plus correction and my Levemir, got up, pulled on clothes and shoes and headed out for a short walk before breakfast to try to bring it down. Scanned 10 mins later when I got to the river and I was up to 14.8 so I jabbed another 2 units (I have to be really heavy handed with Fiasp when levels are this high) and continued. Did about half a mile when I suddenly thought if I come crashing down I don't have enough jelly babies on me to deal with it and I will be well goosed, so headed home, made my coffee and breakfast by which time I was 8.9 with a vertical downward arrow and ate my breakfast straight away which was in itself a treat, rather than sitting looking at it for 45 mins. Was still dropping a bit too fast when I hit the low alarm (4.5) so had 1 jelly baby and now levelled out at 5.1. I will take that as a diabetes triumph even if I failed badly overnight!

Many congrats to @ColinUK on your fab HbA1c result. You have been a bit concise with your posts in recent days and I was getting worried about you, so it was good to read your amusing Tshirt and kaftan update.

4.6 today for me.

Congratulations @ColinUK on your results, slightly jealous !

Congratulations @Daffers on your HS and welcome to this thread!

Yet more tiling work to be completed - in what was meant to be a 6 day job we are now halfway through the third week and no one area is complete (which is messing with my OCD!). But, the guy is really good and the standard of work is great so mustn’t complain. Fingers crossed it all gets completed this week, although that still leaves a little bit of decorating we will do to finish things off.

Take care everyone!

@Robin. I forgot to say well done to Toby. I am so impressed! That said, my lot all stop as soon as I take a glove off because usually that means a treat is coming and a crinkling wrapper noise would just reinforce that thought. I hope he got something too for being such a good lad.

Of course! I always have my treats (JBs) in one pocket and Toby treats in the other! If I take a glove off or get my mobile out of another pocket or something when I’m on the ground, he’s straight in there, trying to unzip the treat pocket!

Morning,

Bit high at 6.9 this morning and then rose to 8.2 an hour later.
Feeling a bit odd still but nice to be back at work.
Key Stage 3 have had a concert this morning! A band called 'CTRL' who talk about online safety. They seem to have enjoyed it. I could only hear thumping, unfortunately - should have popped my head in to see what it was about!

Morning all. The magic 5.2 for me today, haven't had one of those in a while.

The sun is out so have a pleasant day everyone.
