London / Southeast Meet? Suggested date: 5th August

Still unsure if I will make it or not. Not yet looked at tube trains for where we need to be in the afternoon compared to where we are staying etc, and potentially meeting up with other people around lunchtime so trying to make this as well may be too much.

Saturday’s apparently going to be wet so bring a brolly!
The Shakespeare’s Head is very close to Holborn tube though so hopefully nobody will get drenched.
 
If anyone wants/needs my mobile number for Saturday then drop me a message on here and I’ll DM it to you.

Texts on the day if you’re lost would let me guide you to however many of us turn up.

The one near my London office, Shakespeare head, regularly has Sir Ian McKellen in, a few of my colleagues have seen him at different times.

That was the pub where we held our very first Forum Meet in 2009! 🙂 We usually met in the Penderel's Oak after that, which is on High Holborn. It usually has lots of space and isn't as dark as the Shakespeare's Head 🙂 I would have loved to come, but unfortunately have no confidence in the trains now I have a lot further to travel :(

Penderals Oak is a lot lighter inside! I’m hoping that I’ll be there early enough to secure some tables right at the back at the Shakespeare’s Head in the bit that’s surrounded by windows or at least one of the big round tables halfway down.

If you do decide to come then you’d be a very welcome addition!

Epsom and Brockwell Park. Looking at routes online I don't think it's going to work very well, I think it might be a bit too much in the day for us all (got bf and my teens with me)

Bad news.

Felt a bit off this morning so did a Covid test just in case. And it’s positive.

I know we don’t have to isolate anymore but it feels wrong to come out specifically to socialise when I know I’m positive so unfortunately I’m going to have to skip today.

I’m sorry for those who’ve made a special effort to attend but here’s hoping you meet up at the pub and have an awesome time even if I’m not there.

Oh no.... bad luck. I will be there at 11.00 and have to leave a little later around noon for work. Hope to see anyone there.
 
I'm hoping to be there around 12. If someone comes please let us know the table number or something, as I just counted on recognising @ColinUK 's face but that's not helpful anymore! 😳

Hi guys, really sorry but I won’t be able to make it either, I was counting on the trains being ok…should’ve known better really!

@ColinUK these things happen mate, rest and take it easy, we’ll deffo get another meet in before year end 😉

Sorry to hear about your COVID test ColinUK, especially after you organised all of this!

I'm still coming, I plan to get there at around 1pm. I live near a mainline station, so hopefully the trains won't be too bad. Like Elenka_HM, I was relying on recognising ColinUK from his picture, but hopefully seeing a large group will identify you all. I guess someone could put something identifiable right in the middle of the Table?

Arrived early am sitting at table 19 all the other window tables have been taken.

I'm afraid we are not going to be a large group, unless a lot of people who has been quiet in the thread shows up. Most of the expected ones have been affected by illness or trains...😱

Sitting here, inbetween the quietest hen party I have ever seen and behind me a large family occasion where the topic of diabetes is being discussed!! I decided not to join them. Ha ha.
