Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all and a glorious summer morning it is too!

8.0 and a jiggedy jaggedy line - which I don't quite understand. HCL usually produces nice flat ones.

Nothing much on today, although we may go down the local for a swift half late afternoon. Not so much for the drink, but more for the company as we've not been socialising at all for ages now. It's all of a 50 yard walk and has a nice garden out the back plus a lot of friendly people.

Congratulations to @Barrowman on a 2nd HS in a row!

Have a good day all....

Morning all 7.8 after treating low alarm. It would do I was sound asleep. Thought it was my phone .by the time I'd picked the libre up it read .4.5 . Compression low me thinks . Congratulations to @ Barrowman on your Hs today @ Silverminion .Yeah my throat is ok put some savlon on that I carry on me this time of year . Usually someone gets stung whilst sitting eating outside tea room garden ..Jbs for any diabetes incidents Enjoy your day people Stay safe

A distress warning that what I post might be distressing!

I thought today would be a stress free day & it WAS good as BS is finally settling to normal levels on normal NR doses.

Then, just after I put in my midday Tresiba, 2nd day of 52, my sister called & came round for a visit with BIL. I had just ordered some Turkish baklava that was being delivered on Friday but, my sister picked up the box when she rang the doorbell. So, they had coffee & I opened the baklava: it was a new novelty for all of us; chatting & a second of not concentrating, I choked on the little crumbly bits which I hadn’t swallowed properly. I’ve had a damaged swallowing reflex since 2001 the first time I had Bells Palsy & need to actively swallow! With all the crumbly bits in my windpipe I was coughing SO hard I was hunched over the kitchen sink & wet myself! It was VERY distressing for all of us! I had to clean myself up in the bath chair in the bathtub & change my clothes! My sister & BIL left pretty soon afterwards even though I said stay; I feel like I’ve chased them away!

My BS was nicely in the 8’s & coming down but, the baklava & the distress of choking has them sitting in the 12’s right now!

I’m still a bit wheezy & calmed right down but, I still feel a bit distressed so, I’m posting to help me relieve some of that!

I don’t usually like to talk while I’m eating but, sometimes even I, in italics, forget that when I get excited, catching up with my sister who hasn’t visited in a while! It only takes a second of not concentrating to swallow to choke & baklava is NOT something good to choke on as there are loads of little crumbly bits that just went straight down my windpipe & took a lot of very hard coughing to cough it back up into the right pipe to be swallowed! It’s the evolutionary drawback to humans standing upright on two feet: sharing the same orifice with two different pipes for eating & breathing; food can go down the wrong pipe!

THERE! I’ve unloaded now & feel better! Thanks for being there for me to post! :thankyou:

What is this black magic?
Apart from a few specific foods such as shortcrust pastry and figs, what I eat seems to have negligible effects on my BG, especially next day's FBG. I have one of those annoyingly generous livers I guess. Usually my BG is in double figures all day until I eat.

As I'm not a natural breakfast eater I'm hoping that forcing a few mouthfuls down first thing will drop my BG to safer levels until I feel like eating my first real meal. Otherwise I'm going to need another medication as my recent HbA1c was 61 (down from 113 3 months ago) and I'm currently on Metformin max dose only.

You have my sympathies. I choke on anything crumby or dry, nuts, breadcrumbs etc, or sometimes just my own saliva. As you say it only takes a moment's drop in concentration, which is one of the reasons I don't eat breakfast - my brain doesn't really wake up enough until late afternoon so I live on cups of tea and usually have something soft for my first meal.

In my case it might also be a divided uvula which apparently runs in the family, but it's only been bad for the last 5-10 years.
THERE! I’ve unloaded now & feel better! Thanks for being there for me to post! :thankyou:
Anytime my dear :care:

11.8 today, feeling too tired to experiment with project "Shut up liver you git". Tomorrow is another day.

Hello

6.0 for me this morning.
Had a lovely walk with husband and 7yo earlier. The sun was shining and I didn't go low for once. We had a look at the newly opened museum and also the lifeboat museum. We saw a lifeboat from the early 1900s. Absolutely huge, very impressive.
When we got back in my BG was 4.6 but has since dropped lower so I have an excuse to eat sweets. A bit tired now!

Evening was 5.3 on waking this morning

Was a busy, busy day for me, however one of those days I’m glad was busy as today is the 25th anniversary of my Dads Passing :thankyou: <3
in my family we were ALL (at the time) relieved as he was no longer suffering, my father passed away in very poor health, following a car crash that he never really recovered from due to complications relating to him being Diabetic, eventually the GP decided best described as multiple organ failure, the photo was from the last holiday I had with Mum and Dad when I took them down to the West Country

Yesterday I did not in the end get to a GP but a nurse regarding my ear infection, anyway she’s prescribed the needed spray, I’ve not had an ear infection for 5 years and the first since i got my hearing aids, she was also able to tell me more regarding the call I’m expecting on Friday when I’ve a phone consultation with a DSN regarding it seems my anxiety plus a medication review

just got home like I say was a busy day today for me …hope others have had a Wonderful Wednesday also
PS I’ve just had an email seems I’ve won a football shirt (through pledging online to reduce my carbon impact via “pledgeball” )

Morning a 7.9 after a bit of DP but happy enough after eating later than normal last night.
Was still full up after a big lunch In Llandudno as could not refuse the home made ice cream.
Even went for an evening walk to get BG lower before bed and just had huge bowl of fruit for evening meal which does push me up but only short term.
Across to Llangollen today so again nice countryside and a pleasant day and WFH tomorrow.
Dogs walked and much fresher outside before warming up but not stifling so w/ end will be out and about.
Have always been lucky to spend much a lot of time outside and really would have hated being stuck inside an office or factory. Funny the lifestyle is not for everyone but suits me perfectly especially when weather is like it is at the moment.
Anyway hope you have a good day.

May I ask what it is you do @Wendal ?

06:00 BS 6.2 & SO relieved to see a DECENT number! 🙂

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Well, yesterday turned out to be a write off day! My BS rose into the 18’s & stayed wobbling for hours on end around the 16’s being the mid point, 14’s to the 18’s despite me trying to correct with little bits of biscuits & NR but, as I wrote in my libre entry I & my breathing were distressed & my BS was staying elevated! :( So, at some point I threw in the towel & fell asleep to find that my overnight graph just fell in two staggered steep slopes with a bit of a wobble back up a bit before falling again! My windpipe felt bruised & sore yesterday & is still a bit scratchy this morning but, it’s feeling a lot better! :D

As to the baklava: we all enjoyed it & I WILL eat the rest of it, not in one go or too much at a time as it’s very sweet; just NOT while I’m talking & need to be careful about swallowing all the crumbly bits of nuts etc properly! 🙄😛o_O

Morning all. 🙂 8.5 here.

They got the forecast spectacularly wrong - we're shrouded in mist and there's been some rain overnight, rather than wall-to-wall sunshine and increased wildfire risk. The mist suits me fine. I'll get my teeth into pruning and clearing.

We went to our fav bar/restaurant yesterday for lunch. There was a long queue but the owner spotted us and called us over first. We do go there a lot. No-one seemed to mind! The starter was our fav - lentejas / lentils with chorizo, morcilla and panceta, drool.
