Group 7-day waking average?

5.8 this morning, which started grey and cool but has now brightened up. Caught the edge of a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon - I could hear it to the north of us - and had a burst of torrential rain lasting a few minutes.

Our blackberry bush is now producing berries faster than we can eat them. Nice to have berries from the garden in my breakfast berry mix though, and my wife has used a load for a blackberry & apple crumble (no, I didn't have any). We've also given some to our friends down the road.

Usual Tuesday routine - swim before lunch and dog walk with my Cinnamon Trust Volunteer wife before tea, otherwise just the usual household chores.

Congrats @Sharron1 and @NickE on your HSs today, and @louisew on yours yesterday. I got a 5.2 post-prandial yesterday evening but unfortunately that doesn't count.

Enjoy the day.

Morning all. A happy 5.1 for me on this rainy morning....

Good morning folks. 8.7 today. Good job we had a vigorous keep fit session.
The thunderstorm arrived yesterday afternoon but the heavy rain only lasted about 15 minutes. Up till then we had glorious sunshine. Hubby was teaching his friend how to use a chainsaw. He has a large petrol one and I have a small battery one. Together they reduced several large branches to logs for the woodburner.

Congratulations to the HS club yesterday @Eternal422 , @Barrowman ,and @louisew and also @Sharron1 and @NickE for your HS today.
I hope you enjoyed your holiday @Eternal422 and congratulations to your parents. 70 years is amazing!
Hope you are feeling better soon @gail2 and @grannyloŕraine . Sorry to hear you had another bad turn @ColinUK. I hope your cardiologist can confirm the underlying issue.
Love the raspberry cheesecake @eggyg. It's no surprise your family visits so often with all that lovely food you make.
Glad your eye appointment went well @goodybags. My cataracts consultation is on Saturday. Not really looking forward to it. I'm very squeamish about eyes and medical procedures. Never had anything done but I have an overactive imagination.
Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

Morning all - yet another varied "doesn't know what it's going to do" sort of day. We did get some rain yesterday but not enough to count for anything.

5.3 this morning. Had a much better, restful night's sleep last night. Probably due to the light blanket we added to the very thin duvet I was warm for a change!

Going for my last Xray this afternoon. Fingers crossed it is good, even if I still feel rubbish I think it's more muscular in my case. I've lost nearly 9lb since I was admitted to hospital and clothes I bought for the holiday are hanging off me! I didn't really have it to lose. I've also got a bed sore, too much sitting around I think.

Congratulations to @Sharron1 and @NickE on your HSs.
Can I ask what HS stands for?
It stands for "House Special" known (but only on this thread, not anywhere official) as the ideal level to wake up on i.e. 5.2.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling great @PattiEvans. Hope the x-ray shows your surgery has healed well. Are you able to get a referral for physio?

Unfortunately I doubt it. I was referred to physio for my knee a year or so back... it was a complete waste of time! He showed me various walking sticks and knee braces and that was about it! I'm going to the chiropractor tomorrow. That might help.

Poor @MikeyBikey is far worse off than me!

That made me laugh as 12 year old, going on 30, Poppy, mentioned they needed to go shopping as they didn’t have any chocolate in their house, “ that’s why we were looking forward to coming here!” Sadie, 7, added, and for the fizzy pop! Shhh….what happens at grandma’s stays at grandma’s.

Wish I could try that here as I am tiring over "insulin wars"!

BTW - congratulations on what you have achieved so far!
Isn't a diabetes specialist involved in your care? Have they given a reason why you aren't allowed to manage your own insulin? When I was in for my TURP I was allowed to manage my insulin, they just asked that I let them know when and how much I injected.

If you make your crumble topping with ground almonds, a keto granola, extra seeds and butter then you could still have some.

After over 6 years of steering clear of things like that I don't actually want them anymore, but thanks for the suggestion.

Evening folks.5 3 for .e this morning. Congratulations to @ Sharon 1 and @ Nick E on today's Hs . Anyone feeling out of fettle get well soon .@ MikeyBikey think I would be kicking off in there mate .Know the NHS is bad .But what your going through is unreal .Bless you .

what a day its been, I am shattered but wanted to post an update on hubbies appointment with the oncologist this morning, long story but its positive, when he was diagnosed 4 yours ago the lung cancer had spread into his plural cavity and there was no cure except the immunotherapy which could extend his life up to 2 years, that was 4 years ago and he had the treatment for the first 2 years, now the treatment has stopped working in that the primary node in his lung has grown a little bit, but everything else and the spread has gone, so now rather than wait they are going to use target the tumour with oral tablets and if they don't work then they will do another biopsy in case it has changed to a different cancer which can happen then target that, he said he was fit and well with no symptoms and if he wanted to have the biopsy first they were happy to chance it but we decided to not wait for up to 6 weeks and opted for the treatment, knowing if it doesn't work if just means the cancer has changed to another mutation. yesterday the probate money from my dads will was paid into our bank, so this afternoon we went out and bought new sofas, and had a meal out, I want to book a holiday but we've decided to wait and see how the tablets effect him first which apparently will be delivered some time next week.

Morning and a 5.4 for me.
@Pam123
So pleased it was a positive day for yourself and know there are plenty of challenges ahead but truly hope you manage to book your holiday as you certainly deserve it.
@MikeyBikey
Pleased you are going/ are at home now and hopefully getting a bit more back to normal after your nightmare stay.
Must admit thought of you last night as there was a news item on local news about prosthetics and it mentioned the link to diabetes.
My BG has been OK lately but did drop low last night as I decided on spur of moment to do a bit of gardening just before tea and after I had taken my insulin.
Mind you apart from that one is only low of last 7 days so should keep DSN happier.
Off to Chester again today after quiet day in Liverpool yesterday and tomorrow meeting one of my colleagues ( probably whom I am closest to) for a chat, brunch and a visit to our normal spot a Garden Centre just out side Manchester.
Anyway hope all is well with folks and had half a slice of toast to celebrate my good mood- I know how to live the high life 🙂

A disappointing 7.6 this morning. Not quite sure why, but the dog did wake me up at 5.30, so maybe that is part of it. Gotta love the dog o_O .

Congratulations to @Sharron1 and @NickE on yesterday's HS

@ColinUK I hope you have a better day today
@PattiEvans I hope the results of the X-ray are encouraging
@Pam123 I wish you and your husband the very best of luck
