Group 7-day waking average?

I reckon it's a reheated chicken pie that disintegrated on the way to the plate. I agree it looks overcooked and unappetising Mikey. Hope tonight's dinner is better.
 
Spontaneity goes out the window, unfortunately, with diabetes. It's the thing that frustrates me the most! I'm sure you'll come up with a way of dealing with it. I didn't have time to set a temporary basal before gardening yesterday, so I had a mini Mars bar and waited 15 minutes - worked a treat.

Well the promised rain arrived yesterday but thankfully no thunderstorms. Looks like the water butts are full again. Hubby did some painting yesterday while I sorted through a small mountain of paperwork piled up on my desk. Filed or shredded as appropriate now.
Roasted chicken thighs and a large tub of homemade salsa prepped ready to take to the Summer Bee Bash this afternoon.

Congratulations on your HS @goodybags The diabetes fairy obviously approves of your tote bag purchase for Mrs GB.

Morning all. 4.8. Its raining here and did so for most of yesterday too. Nothing planned, nobody expected to come so will read, crochet, maybe watch a film.

Congrats on the HS @goodybags. Its a nice bag you bought for your wife.

@eggyg the bread and scones look tasty. Can you post the recipe for the scones please? I don't know what i do but mine always turn out more like biscuits or my nans rock cakes!

Time to order in Take Away me thinks. Can't be worse than what looks like a dog's dinner and I think the dog may even reject it.
 
Morning. 7.6 this am, but a night of ups and downs. I thought I was being clever by reducing my evening pre-meal by one unit with the hope that my bedtime reading would be a bit higher and my night-time lows wouldn’t happen. No such luck. My graph shot up to over 12 like a rocket (rice and chicken, strawberries and cream). I took two correction doses at 9pm and 10pm, with no obvious effect. Went to bed. Woken at 3am by very low alarm and therefore took glucose. Very low, very shakey. Drat. But I’m OK now, so no worries.

One thing that puzzles me about the arrows indicating the direction of travel on any current reading is how the one pointing sideways, neither up or down, is a bit misleading. Because a few minutes later the actual reading has gone up or down …

Off for lunch with family - Alex (son) is taking us all to lunch - six in all, me, Ali, Alex, and Chi, Isla (14), Ziggy (12). Should be fun!

7.2 here on this overcast morning, hardly any breeze and dry, should be able to get out later without ensuing a wet head!

I woke up to back-to-back episodes of Classic Coronation Street, upstairs on the PC then downstairs, on the TV... I just can't get away!

I learnt from my brother that the builder won't be making an appearance until a week on Monday. A bit of a break from brick & plaster dust pervading our home.

Another 6.0 on another wet and gloomy Berkshire morning, although unlike yesterday it's stopped raining now. Sunday's towel change day but I won't wash any unless the sun puts in an appearance.

The sun had come out by the time we got to Bedford yesterday for the 60th Birthday garden party, so the weather didn't put a dampener on things (excuse the pun), although they had taken the precaution of putting up 4 gazebos anyway. Had lunch before we left as I thought the buffet might not be particularly T2-friendly, as so it proved.

Morning all - cloudy but bright - if that makes sense. Lashed it down later yesterday afternoon and evening, so I guess the water butt is full.

17.8 this morning.... found out why it started to rise at 2am when I finally got up at 9:30. The cannula had detached itself by all but a sliver of adhesive at the end, which meant there was no insulin going in at all as the tube was wagging free. I wonder if I should stick something over it in future.

I asked J what excitements were in line for today.... apparently there's a mountain of ironing laying in wait for us and the linen bin is full again, so we'll be playing handmaids to the washing machine.

They should be ashamed serving a mess on a plate like that to anybody 😱 yet alone someone in rehabilitation following a hospital stay
 
I’m going to be controversial here but, I quite like hospital food here in the UK: used to love it pre diabetes; post diabetes I know it’s very carby, true, but, it’s nice! It’s not for every day as a diabetic & I DID point that out once to the nurses & they said it’s for building sick people back up while they’re unwell in hospital! It’s comforting, carby food AND I don’t have to cook it! :D

I remember the first time I was in hospital when I was 12 years old & LOVE my hospital meals: in particular the classic British desserts & other classic main courses; it was different from mum’s boiled rice & dishes at home! 😛

Well, I’ve said it! Shall I get ready to dodge the onslaught of disagreement from you lovely lot? 3D Smiley With Hands Over The Head emoji! Ready to dodge the onslaught! o_O

There you go. I only made four from that recipe. If I’d made eight as suggested they would have been too thin and biscuit like. I think next time I’ll just use cheddar and not as much thyme or I might use chives. I cooked them for 25 mins. I checked after 20 but weren’t quite ready. We ate them warm with salted butter.

Afternoon all.5.4 for me this morning.Just having a minute from hoovering.Meats in cooking for lunch .Try and get out before these thunder storms they are promising us . Waterproof coat and golf brolly me thinks . Congratulations to @ Goodybags on your Hs. today. It's been a long time since I was in hospital with my diabetes 1982 in fact .days before carb counting and certainly no Yorkshire puddings with your Sunday dinner.It was mainly corned beef salad.Surprised I still eat corned beef and salads Super was a cream cracker with something scrapped on and off .What they served you @ Mickey bikey looks more like road kill . Enjoy your day people
 
thanks for all your posts re hubby,ive not really feeling up to posting right now, just thought I would do a quick post I hope at least after next Tuesday when hubby sees the oncologist we will know what the planned treatment will be, its more of a shock as he seams so well, if fact better than well if that makes sense, anyway I am just going to end up rambling, my BS has been surprising really good but ive hardly eaten anything since Tuesday
