Group 7-day waking average?

Morning a 7.1 but pretty flat overnight and a busy day yesterday.
Trip to garden centre and had coffee and cake then to farm butchers and another two nurseries to buy plants including a big one that had to be delivered later.
Got a few late bedding plants as well and spent a bit of time in the garden.
It is probably the one time that my diabetes really interrupts my life in that I like to be quite vigorous in terms of getting on with jobs in the garden like digging out out some roses but my low alarm goes off within a few minutes and I then have to eat something before going too low.
So I end up having to eat a lot or simply stop doing the work which I enjoy.
Anyway ended up watching Netflix and finished 1923 and had left over Pizza.
Lunch out today and will try and go for a walk this morning which is always much easier in managing my diabetes.

Light rain here today, (good for my tomatoes plus my wife’s herbs) I got rather wet but it was still a thoroughly enjoyable morning a the football exercise / wellness project I attend on Saturday mornings, although it’s still poorly attended those that attend really do get a lot out of it.

Mrs @goodybags and I went out to lunch yesterday in a pub near Stowe (Stowe behind Silverstone not in the Cotswolds)
then we went down to Bicester outlet village, I wanted some new trainers, I ended up actually ordering them on-line as there was nothing in the outlet shop suitable for my requirements, but my Wife got some new bags conveniently she never had her debit card and her contactless wasn’t working, so it was my treat,
one of the ones I bought by me as a overpriced (@£200) shopping bag 🙄
was corrected, apparently it is a “Tote Bag” it even says so on it
anyway we we had a very nice lunch and after 21 years of putting up with me I think she deserves a £200 shopping bag <3:rofl:

@MikeyBikey I’m saddened but TBH not surprised, to see you post that the medical team there still don’t really understand or help you to manage your diabetes the way you know works for you,
hopefully soon your out of there especially as you’ve been through so much recently :thankyou:

Pleased you had a nice lunch out GB.
We had several last week where we did stay at Stow in the Cotswolds as our base.
Did have the trip into Oxon and went to Burford which was such a nice surprise as had never been before

Morning, 5.8 after a flatfish, I don't know if it's the magnesium I've been taking but I have been so sleepy the last few days and have slept like a baby every night. BGs seem to be staying on the low side too, I have not had any rapid insulin for two days.

Could you give yourself less rapid insulin at the meal prior to gardening @Wendal? Or have a snack with no insulin before you start? Gardening lows are inevitable, unfortunately. We’re all going to want to see photos of your lovely garden, of course!
 
I’ll post this now before I watch the final day of The Open Golf. 07:07 BS 10.8 Oops! A bit more, +2NR?, for that last can of Heinz chicken soup last night before bed: normally would have gone with 24 but, went with 22 as that was what was left of the cartridge 🙄; should have stuck in the other 2! Ah well! A Sighing emoji! :D

Despite erratic eating, when I remember or my stomach grumbles get seismically loud o_O, my BS hasn’t been too bad: the basal is right & that REALLY helps; my hours are strange as I nap & doze off here & there as I CAN ONLY watch live on Now TV unlike on demand etc. on Sky! My A1c has even gone down by 0.1% on the libre but, that’s not an indication of anything really as it’s always been inaccurate & I need the blood tests to tell me what it REALLY is. Still, it IS indicative of my lower peaks this week especially the last 2/3 days of 12’s to 15’s when it’s normally 14’s to 18’s as my BS is JUST that teeny bit lower from the longer between meals periods but, no hypos or heading off of hypos as my basal is right so, that’s made things easy! :thankyou::party::D

Rory McIlroy is 6 shots off the lead from Scottie Schiffler, -8 & -14 respectively, & they won’t be starting until later! It may be a bit much for Rory to make up & overtake but, you never know & I’ll see what happens? Just THAT teeny bit of unsurpassable golf news there & that was a HUGE restraint, on MY part! >>😉😉 :rofl:

Morning folks and folkessess!

6.0 for me.

Gym yesterday was good. I’m seeing some consistent progress now too.

Dance stuff yesterday. Only the two things but both at Sadler’s Wells. First was Young Creatives Showcase which is a program that highlights the young choreographers rather than the dancers. Nine pieces choreographed by youth aged between 11 and 19 I think. Some were very professional and subjectively more complete than others but it was interesting to see a slightly different focus on young creativity in dance.

In the evening I saw National Youth Dance Company x Boy Blue’s piece Gravity on the main stage at Sadler’s. NYDC alumni include Wayne McGregor, Oona Doherty, Botis Seva and I’m sure that some of these young people (ages ranged from 16 to 22) will be great future titans of dance.

This was a hip hop piece. Accomplished, energetic, engaging, exciting and entertaining it’s was more professional than many professional pieces I’ve seen. Costume design and lighting were on point as well.

It’s a fully funded touring production and if you’re open to seeing the next generation of dance stars in the making then I’d recommend catching this if you can.

Today, whilst dodging the rain, I’m off to Southbank for a Japanese market inside the Royal Festival Hall and have tickets for two exhibitions at Tate Modern so that’s an option if I feel like it. Other than that there’s housework to do and homework to do for therapy tomorrow.

4.7 today, yesterday was heavy showers and sunshine no storms, today looks to be more of the same. We are off to a christening in Andover so will be leaving soon to get to that.

@goodybags - congratulations on your HS, perhaps it was treating your wife to the expensive bag that did the trick, maybe experiment by buying her another expensive bag.

Yep Bloden.I am sure there are ways I can plan better as you suggest as we know it is possibly to manage “ intense” exercise whilst having diabetes.
I suppose my issue is I don’t do it on a regular basis and I like to do it as a spontaneous activity so very dependent on weather at moment which is a right mixture of sunshine and showers and also to coincide with when my wife is out in the garden( as I do like to do stuff whilst she is doing her planting etc) and I don’t like to try and coordinate our efforts as she likes to go in garden as she chooses.
My BG also seems to respond very quickly to certain activities like digging ( when I get stuck into digging out tree roots or sawing branches etc I like to keep going until I have finished it) and when my alarm goes off after 5 minutes I then have to stop.
Not taking insulin is probably a better option than just loading up on carbs but then again I don’t particularly want to exercise just after eating.
Apologies for long rambling response and I am sure I can come up with a better method of managing but yesterday my wife just came up with the job of digging out the roses which I leapt at. I was about 7 and within 10 minutes I needed to have some toast and biscuits to stop dropping too low, then had another 10 minutes and my BG dropped again so had to stop and then it rained and we settled down as my wife was shattered and we then just sat down and I just got a bit frustrated.
I know not a big issue and thanks for your advice
 
Good morning! Rather better today at 9.2 although I think it could be a few mmol/L's lower if I was able to have an extra unit or two of Isophane!

Looks like a damp day here but I should have a visitor this afternoon after a roast chicken lunch. Last night I did not get what I ordered but s plate of slop that tasted disgusting - can anyone identify it? I had to settle for a sandwich but the choice was egg mayo or tuna mayo neither of which I like. I settled for egg mayo as the tuna mayo is so salty it tastes like seawater!

Good morning folks. 5.9 at 8am when I arose.

Full English made and eaten, I’m stuffed, but that’ll be us until tea time, 6pm. Busy day yesterday, it was 2.30 and I’d just finished cooking etc and about to have a break when youngest daughter and the girls arrived. Absolutely soaked to the skin, they’d been to a “fun” day and the heavens had opened so they left early and decided to drip all over my floors! Three hours later they left! Half an hour later middle daughter and family arrived for tea. They left at 8.30! I was in bed by 9.30 whilst Mr Eggy watched a film.

Would like to say we have a quiet day ahead but, alas, we have not! Got the farmers’ daughters ( 12 and 7) arriving at 9am tomorrow until 11am Wednesday. So shopping needs done, beds made up etc. and most importantly meals planned. Youngest daughter and her two will be joining us for lunch tomorrow, they love to see their big cousins. We might do pizzas, not in the pizza oven unfortunately as weather forecast is dire.

@silver minion the scones were delicious, so light, we had them for lunch with a savoury filling like a sandwich. @Leadinglights I have the baguette tray and have had mixed results but yesterday’s baguettes weren’t too bad. Photo below of the scones and baguette, it’s only part baked on there as I was planning on filling it with garlic butter and re bake it later. Which I did and it was declared the best garlic bread EVER! Think I’ll give myself a gold star! :star:
