Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning
A 6.8 for me, I've been taking a 3-in-1 magnesium supplement for a couple of days, mostly because I've been having a bit of bowel trouble lately and need a bit of help to "go", but it's also supposed to help with sleep. I must admit I had a really good sleep so maybe there's something in it.

Welcome back @PattiEvans, what an awful experience for you. I'm so glad to hear you are back home safe.

Good morning all. 5.4 in rainy Cumbria.

We had rain yesterday but not too much, it was a sticky day and I had a jacket on in the town because of the rain. I was in a total lather! I hate shopping at the best of times but yesterday was horrible and we were only in 50 minutes! Got what I went for so all is good. Hopefully that’s it for another month or two!

We’re going away tomorrow for a couple of days, we’re heading darn souff, well, Rotherham, that’s quite far enough. We’re going to the RHS Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Show. We’re staying over tomorrow night at Wetherby, just as it was on the route and I know the hotel ( niece got married there), and it was an absolute bargain. I do love a bargain, £126 for DBB for us both, I’m not expecting Michelin star grub, Wetherspoons style maybe. 😉It was almost cheaper than the show tickets! I’m really looking forward to it. Forecast good, 25 degrees, but not full sun all day thank goodness.

Today is a cooking day as it’s a bit cooler. I have a glut of courgettes. So I’m making courgette pakoras for the freezer, I did the same last year and it’s not long since we ate the last of them. We love them as a starter before a curry. Then I making my old favourite, I’ve been making them well before the old D, salmon and lime fishcakes. We have them with noodles and sweet chilli sauce, an absolute carb fest and it’s the only time I have to inject double figures of bolus! Worth it though and it’s an occasional treat. A little bit of what you fancy does you good.

Lovely to see you back on here @PattiEvans, take it easy, you’ve had a rough ride and from someone who has had their fair share of big ops, you’ll need an afternoon nap for quite a while, your body has been through a lot and it’s telling you you need to rest, don’t resist. Glad you got to your friend’s wedding.

Have a fab day wherever you are and whatever you’re doing.

Morning all.

5.8

Saw the GP yesterday. Results of the HR monitor are in. Nothing worrying or likely to be causing my funny turns but I do have a minor anomaly apparently. There’s a delay in how long it’s taking for the signal to contract racing the lower ventricles. Only minor. Literally borderline within tolerances but now they know they’ll keep an eye on it.
He’s chased the neurology appointment and I discussed having a nerve conduction test as well. My left hand sometimes behaves in a strange manor where there’s a tremor and I can’t “aim” it accurately. No pain. No pins and needles just weird behaviour.

Other than that, gym and therapy yesterday was pretty much it for the day.

Today I’m off to the V&A for an exhibition, Design and Disability, which centres those issues and creatives who tackle or face it. Theatre this evening. Donmar Warehouse, Intimate Apparel which has garnered great reviews.

EDIT: So I’ve just googled the description the GP gave and it’s an atrioventricular block. Looking at symptoms on the NHS website and on BHF’s it matches perfectly what I experience when I’m having a funny turn.

First-degree heart block does not usually cause symptoms or need treatment. Second and third-degree heart blocks can cause symptoms, which include:

  • feeling faint or dizzy
  • feeling tired and sometimes confused
  • feeling a pressure or pain in your chest
  • being short of breath

Oddly the GP said he doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about and that he doesn’t think it’s causing my issues.

I’ll fire off a message suggesting a referral for a cardiologist appointment with a view to a cardio focused MRI.

Morning all. 3.9 and had been low for a while! I didn't sleep well last night, took a long time to nod off so thats probably why i didn't hear the alarm. I've woke now, tired and sluggish, may need a nap later.
Nothing planned for today apart from some ironing.

@PattiEvans so glad you're back.
@eggyg enjoy the break. Do you have a recipe for the courgette pakoras?
@ColinUK good to know there is nothing worrying. Enjoy the V&A.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, 6.8 here. It rained yesterday afternoon here! Not a lot, but enough to save having to water anything but the pots. More rain forecast today, of course, because I’m going up to the yard to ride the pony. Ended up having two visits from the plumber yesterday, once to fit the shower pump, and again in the afternoon to investigate why it was switching itself on all by itself when no water was running. Plumber ended up phoning the pump company's technical support department and sending photos of it, and it transpired there was a tiny bit of plastic that had become dislodged . Doesn’t augur well for the future, if the whole operation depends on a flimsy bit of plastic! This is already a replacement under the guarantee for the original pump, which was a replacement for the old one that failed just outside the guarantee…. meanwhile the pump on our en-suite shower is still going strong after 25 years, they don’t make stuff like they used to…

glad to hear the HR monitor has identified the likely cause of your symptons. I think a cardiology referral is a good plan. My hubby had a CT scan with contrast dye of hus heart, early on in his treatment. It gave a 3d view of his heart while beating and showed the blood flow through the heart chambers.
Hope you get an appointment soon.

@PattiEvans good to hear you are back safely.
A 5.7 for me today. 🙂

P.S. Change lancet day!! :D

@ColinUK i've just read your edit. Definitely worth checking out.

Morning

4.5 today, currently bright and breezy again, but showers are predicted probably just at the time I will be walking to visit mum.

@PattiEvans - lovely to see you back, reading your post is the next one on my list to read.
@ColinUK - I agree getting a referral is a good idea.
@eggyg - enjoy your break, I really should follow your lead and batch cook.

6.7 when waking up. I have an appointment with my diabetic clinic tomorrow morning. Only problem is working out with whom. It might be a “dietetics” person/doctor or it might be a follow-up with a consultant, or maybe a DSN. Of course my various emails/messages/NHS app notifications are not at all clear. Sometimes only referring to the Consultant heading up the “Endocrinology Department”, at other times this “Dietetics” unit. Never mind, I’ll turn up tomorrow and see what happens. Of course I’ll be ready to pee in a bottle and have my finger pricked, my blood pressure measured and height established (getting smaller). Trouble is, will they answer the questions that I’ve been waiting for the answers to for three months: will the NHS pay for my G7 sensor upgrade, and should I be on a pump. Probably no to both. My averages are so-called “good”. Why? Because having the G7 linked to my Apple Watch improves my control. And I’ve learned a lot from you lot on the Forum!

Have a good day. Rain forecast later …

Nick

Morning all
A disappointing 8.9 for me ,that was going to the dentist yesterday and not eating too much last night.!!!’
I must admit reading the posts I’m getting to know a lot of people, enjoy the weather down south because it’s raining here, yesterday was a washout.
@PattiEvans hopefully you will improve, you have a great support on this forum.
Have a nice day everyone

@freesia @ColinUK kindly found it for me, I saw the date and went to my carefully stored Good Food mags ( I’m so OCD) and took a photo. May be a wee bit easier to read. I like to squeeze the courgettes first on their own, I set a sieve over a bowl. Sieve the gram flour it’s very lumpy, I buy it from Grape Tree. I’m going to double that amount today and make about 30. I open freeze then pop in a strong freezer bag, I do defrost before re heating in the oven for 10 minutes or so. Enjoy.

6.4 this morning, which has dawned pleasantly mild with sunny intervals but a rather stiff breeze. Summer house roof got three good soakings after I'd finished so I'm glad I'd got it done before the weather turned. I still have to tidy up around the edges and paint the decorative woodwork that goes above the doors and windows before I fix it back into position. Will save that for tomorrow as there are showers in today's forecast and today's my regular pre-lunch swim, plus it's Cinnamon Trust dog walk when my wife finishes work. In the meantime it's coffee and read the newspaper.

Pleased you're back home @PattiEvans

Have a good day, all.
