Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all and I forgot to look at my score first thing but it was a 7.2 pre breakfast so it can't have been too bad.

Looks like I've managed to fit everything in my bags. Just got a couple of sax mouthpieces to squeeze in.

Last rehearsal tonight and then off to Sweden in the morning.

Have a good day everyone.

Oops! 😳 Forgot to press the button, again, to post this earlier; in too much of a hurry! Ah well, post it now.

11.08 BS 8.4

A Very G’Day, now, Mates to you all & hope you’re having a Wonderful Day! 😉

Now adding this extra bit, since I AM making sure I press that button, which you don’t have to read!

Spent yesterday watching online the 1988 Pierce Brosnan production of Noble House & it was a very slick production, which I remembered it being, but, unfortunately the videos online were only 360p so, very bad quality, low resolution, badly faded & the brightness levels kept going down & obviously back up: only noticed the sudden dimness & not the really the brightness! 😱

Also, looked up, on google, the 1980 Richard Chamberlain production of Shogun & it was actually an American production that the BBC aired in 1982. It WAS available on Paramount+ so, got the 7 days free trail to watch it as THAT one, as was “Noble House”, had James Clavell as an Executive Producer. But, unfortunately it’s now no longer available & just as well it was a free trail. It’s now on Amazon Prime to buy for £7.99 which I bought. It was televised in 5 parts of 2 hours & on Amazon it’s spilt into 6 shorter parts. Started watching it late last night & I fell asleep: NOT because it was bad; just the semiconscious mind state when watching film or TV that sends me to sleep fast if I’m tired at all! The video quality is vastly better &, as of the American TV of the 80’s that I remember, the colours are SO rich: it was worlds apart from the semi washed out colours of British TV back then; I can see & appreciate it properly having bought it on Amazon Prime! <3 It’s mostly in English as well & a rather interesting little snippet of info; it was the first time the word “****” was used on TV which the production had to get special permission to use as in the scene, in the book too, where a Japanese samurai says to the English sailor John Blackthorne “I **** on you & your country!” & proceeding to do just that!; those were more innocent times! It’s reminiscent to me of the huge fines the studio had to pay for the word “Damn” in Gone With The Wind: the studio tried all sorts of alternatives; in the end ONLY the immortal line “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!” would do! o_O:rofl: So, they paid up & the rest, as they say, was history! :D<3

The FX version of Shogun on Disney+ also had the late James Clavell’s daughter as an executive producer as well & she spoke about her dad on one of the podcast episodes. Of course THIS production is more authentic Japanese as it’s mostly in Japanese: the 80’s production is easier to watch mostly in English; two different productions that each have their merit! 🙂

Afternoon all.5 8 for me this morning.Any one heard how @ Gwynn and @rebrascora is doing .Been a while .Know Barbara said she had issues and was eating unhealthy food.Hope she's sorted and doesn't regret it later down the line . Enjoy your day people
Thanks for your kind concern. I am very recently back on the low carb wagon after several months of comfort eating and piling on weight. Trying to briskly walk 5-6 miles every day to help with reducing insulin needs and thereby weight reduction. It will come off slower than it went on but at least the process has started.
Hope everyone else here is as well as they can be. X

4.6 this morning had a couple of stressful days, as some of you know my dad passed away last year and my estranged sister didn't tell me, long story short, I was eventually asked to agree for her to go to probate instead of through solicitors
I was led to believe that he had no money and they had sold his house to pay for the care home, it turned out to be completely untrue and my brother who didn't know I was in the dark, anyway I agree to go to probate and asked to see the will which she had to show me, the Probate completed on Monday and my. sister other text me for my bank details which I sent to her and asked what happens now,I am not on good terms with her, so I got a abrupt reply saying when so she goes to the banks with the probate and dads will they will pay the care home and the rest will be divided by the 4 of us but it won't be before the end of July, she told my brother she was going to the bank sometime this week but as far as she is concerned I have no right to question her, I feel like I am in the wrong for even asking, both my sisters are not short of money so if they decide to delay taking the paper to dads bank wouldn't surprise me, since my brother has given me a rough idea of what we will get its life changing to us both, and to top it off Its my hubbies 6 month scan and its 4 years now since he was told he would live more than 2 years then we have a 2 weeks wait for the results. so sorry for ranting I just needed to off load .

7.4 earlier on, before it rose to 8.6 and stayed there all day, even now it's nearer to 9 than 8 - I wonder if I'm coming down with something as I've been under the weather most of the day; my wife too. We are thinking we're coming down with something of the chickenpox strain, possibly shingles.

I went out for a couple of walks earlier but I didn't really get off the area. I wanted to go down to the prom but the sweats got in the way and I was off balance for a lot of the afternoon. We're feeling a lot better now and my appetite has returned - hopefully I won't be guzzling at midnight. Hopefully we won't be down with a lurgy tomorrow. We're very tired tonight and we won't be long to our bed.

Hopefully you'll have a peaceful night. >>SS

Yet another early good morning. 5.3. So close.

Been awake since 4.30, up at 5. Already had breakfast, still loving the Fiasp now I’ve got the hang of it. Early doors appointment again, dentist at 9am. Just annual check up. We used to go every six months but after not being able to go for three years because of Covid and then not being able to get an appointment, I realised that’s excessive, and expensive. I’ve got very good teeth and after being charged £374 last year for the two of us for a check up, visit to hygienists and a deposit towards this appointment, I’m skipping the hygienist, Mr Eggy still having his appointment, he drinks red wine and black tea! I’m tempted to just go every two years, if they’ve put the prices up again this year, that’s what I’m going to do. They’ve got us over a barrel as they know we won’t be able to get an NHS dentist anytime soon. Rant over! 😡

Had a brilliant hike yesterday, the rain stayed away and it was a nice temperature to walk in. We walked part of the Coast to Coast path, (St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay), we did Bowness Knott carpark to Black Sail YHA. We met two ladies who were doing it for their 70th birthdays, one is 70 next week and the other in August. Inspirational. I walked with them for a while whilst Mr Eggy dallied taking photos. We had lunch together in the Black Sail YHA, what a fabulous place that is, if we were 40 years younger we would be tempted to stay, but not sure I could share a room with strangers, in a bunk bed! We’ve missed our slot! 😉
Anyhoo, we walked 13.5 miles. Did our stretches before getting in the car so I’m fine today, Mr Eggy walking like an old man and oohing and ahhing every time he has to get off the sofa!

Have a grand day, wet and miserable here all day. Urghh!

Here’s a few photos of the Ennerdale area, and the famous Black Sail YHA. There’s no easy way up there, it’s six miles from the car park, but I don’t suppose anyone staying is bringing the kitchen sink like we do when we go on holiday!
Selfie before we became disheveled and sweaty!
Low hanging cloud over Pillar Rock.
A young roe deer.
Black Sail YHA.
More cloud over the assent to Honister. We didn’t do that, we crossed back over the river, over a ford where I got my feet very wet, through the nature reserve and back down to the carpark.

Morning and a. 5.1 so like you @eggyg just wrong side of the magic number and lovely pictures and pleased you had such a nice day.
I had a lovely day too but different as had a lovely drive to mid Wales and a pub lunch (Scampi) which have not had in ages. Not best food but nice setting.
Then my wife said could we pick up a load of bricks she wanted for garden. So cleared the car and picked them up loading them into wheelbarrow and then coming home and carrying them into garden.
Love a bit of exercise and had a big tea but BG behaved itself and off to Wirral today.
Wet start but refreshing and dogs had coats on but walks done.

6.7 this morning, probably due to eating a lump of cheese just before bed. Not sleeping very well at the moment, dragged myself out of bed at 5 to give the dog a quick walk. It's not hot but still feels quite muggy.
Have managed 100% TIR over the last week which I'm happy about. A couple of units of trurapi before my evening meal seems to flatten out any spikes. I guess it gives my own feeble insulin response a little kick up the proverbial! I haven't tried it with a carby meal yet, need to pluck up courage

Missed posting yesterday. Dunno why!

Anyway… 6.0 this AM.

Gym, volunteering and then Sadler’s East tonight.

@Pam123 Heads up that your estranged sister, as executor, has a legal obligation to ensure that the estate is settled in full, in accordance with the will and in a timely fashion. If you think she’s unnecessarily delaying things or not being open and honest with you and your brother then consider consulting a solicitor. Especially as we’re talking about life changing sums. Hopefully it won’t be necessary though.

Good morning well is it morning I think so
6.1 after the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a few months, but I’m ok

In the early hours I finally got a email through regarding some discount vouchers that may have or may not been spent prior to leaving work at end of last month with my previous employer of the last 7 years

the email contained links to approximately 150 voucher codes
that may or may not have been spent

a case of open each one up prove to AI I am not a computer myself by solving a puzzle etc.. lol
revealed a bar code show it to the retailer who scans it and tells me the balance
as Brucie would say good game good game EH ?

before I left that job these vouchers were all in a digital wallet to see and spend as easy as that
all acquired through (staff benefit scheme)

anyway I’m boring myself back to sleep but need to take wife to work in a min

so have a Thrilling Thursday everyone
TC

After a carb-heavy day yesterday, I paid the price with an 8.1...ouch

@eggyg lovely photos, a stunning part of the country

@Pam123, @ColinUK has provided excellent advice - a similar thing happened to a friend of mine, where a sister hid the full extent of the will. If you can get some advice from a solicitor, please do. In my friend's case, the very threat that he was getting legal counsel was enough to change her mind! Good luck

Morning all. 5.0 a unicorn day yesterday and last night was well in target overnight. We went to see F1 at the cinema with Brad Pitt (well, not with Brad Pitt, but you know what i mean). If you like car racing its a very good film.

Today i'm off to mum's this morning, meeting a friend for a quick coffee before she goes on holiday this afternoon and trying to fit in a phone call to the surgery at some point to arrange an appointment.

@Lisa65 congrats on the 100% TIR.

Morning all, great pics @eggyg
7.4 for me
Away to volunteer at local hospital for a few hours, then off to see my grandson at his last day at primary school, they play the bagpipes for the class in front of the whole school. Hopefully it brightens up, it’s raining here, that’s been seven years I’ve picked him up from school, will miss it, that’s what grandparents are for.
Everyone have a great day

Morning all. 🙂 6.4 here.

I looked out of the window at 5am on the way to the loo and it was wet and WILD out there. What a difference a few hours make - it’s calm and sunny. Glad I’m not a weather forecaster!

There’s a retirement tea party at work this arvo. The retiree’s been in the job for 30 years, eek! She even went to school as a little girl in the same building (now an adult learning centre). I’m gutted cos she’s lovely. Hey ho, I’m sure I’ll bump into her in Tesco now and then.

You’re inspirational @eggyg - 13.5 miles! Lovely pics.

Morning

4.3 today, didn’t eat much in the evening after a very sweaty run in 29 degrees, all I wanted to do was drink. Today I am taking mum to hospital regarding laser treatment on her right eye, she had the left eye done earlier this year. This evening is the 2 hr yoga class which is lovely.

@eggyg - lovely photos

@Pam123 - totally agree with @ColinUK advice regarding your late father’s will. 4 1/2 years and my later FIL is not settled, FIL house is now sold subject to contract, but it took from Dec 2020 to Feb 2025 due to someone else’s actions.

A 5.8 for me today. 🙂
