05:58 BS 8.4 Higher this morning as the lower basal went through my system. I headed off a pending hypo after breakfast yesterday by eating lunch at the 3 hours after mark but, that was the tail end of the higher basal the previous day & once the lower dose was stuck in things steadied. But, I underestimated slightly the dinner dose of NR for a naughty ish cider battered haddock, chips & peas done in the air fryer with a little glass ramekin of frozen garden peas dinged in the microwave: gave it a cautious 40NR as I was going to bed; kind of knew I needed 44 really but, not unhappy with the result this morning! :confused:🙂

Watched the reunion episode of series 5 RATW yesterday morning & then, watched a lot of The Traitors New Zealand series 2 that just released all 12 episodes on 16th June. I must say the Kiwis are SO smart: the faithfuls really give the traitors a hard time as they keep banishing them; both series the faithfuls really cotton on fast! I haven’t quite finished yet as I’m about to watch episode 10, mind you but, it’s starting to turn a little bit for the traitors after they were reduced to just one AND A MASSIVE twist which just quickly crossed my mind as a possibility at the last second before it REALLY happened! 😱 I really like watching the NZ version! <3

Morning

4.2 today, didn’t sleep very well due to the heat. Even gentle yoga turned into hot yoga yesterday. This morning is one of our granddaughters sports day so we are off to watch her as mummy and daddy are both at work.

@Pam123 - congratulations on yesterday’s HS.

Whenever my OH wears a device like yours @ColinUK he never has a wobble. It’s sod’s law because he can regularly have wobbles that last for hours.

Morning all. 7.7 for me. Levels were ok yesterday until about 9pm when i spiked, probably down to the protein from the BBQ and the tiny slice of cheesecake. I did bolus for it all but obviously not enough.

Another scorcher of a day although judging by the trees theres a bit of a breeze. Washing is on the line, another load waiting and some ironing to be done today, if i can find the coolest spot in the house.

@eggyg i hope your plan goes well and he doesn't guess whats going on.

@ColinUK i hope everything is ok. Is it bad to say i hope you have a wobble so the monitor can pick it up?

Morning, 5.9 for me.
Had a poor sleep... because one of my cats kept breaking in to pester me and use me as a slide, apparently! Gahhh she is like a baby herself, I don't know what she is going to be like when the real baby arrives!

7yo is still in suspense over Star of the Week, as they have postponed the announcement until this afternoon. She is quite a kind member of the class and gets on with her work well, but I think she might go under the radar a bit compared with some of the others. One of her best friends is a bit of a lively character and has earned this award 4 times :rofl:
Fingers crossed for 7yo...!

We are going to watch How To Train Your Dragon later, really looking forward to it :D
 
@Lauren fingers crossed for your daughter. It can mean such a lot to them. When i was working in a school, the teacher used to keep a tick list of children who had already had it and for what reason. That way children who were consistently good and working hard didn't go under the radar. I think its easy for lively characters to be noticed. Just because someone is quieter doesn't mean they are less deserving. I really hope she gets it.
 
Well! I just rang my health centre a little after 9am & was expecting a long queue due to the rush to get GP appointments for the day but, was answered in less than 2 minutes.

And found out that the Novorapid Flextouch pens have been discontinued & it’s now Flex Pens: did notice a slightly different look to the boxes & pens but, other than that it all seems the same! Now the same thing again with Tresiba: Flextouch tobe discontinued & new Flex Pens. I posted on that thread & other members brought back up an issue I asked before with my health centre & that is switching to using reusable pens with cartridges & also, would like to be able to order a month’s supply at once instead of ordering every week.

The in house pharmacist will hopefully ring me today & if not, call the health centre back between 3-4pm?
 
5.8 this morning after a hot and sticky night despite both bedroom windows being open and no duvet. In the dim & distant I would have resorted to sleeping au naturel, but at my age? WhatsApp video call with my wife yesterday and she said it was just as hot where they are. Her and her sister head home tomorrow and our eldest is picking her up from Heathrow on Sunday morning. Looking forward to having a full house again, at least for a couple of weeks - our eldest and his mates are off to Madeira at the beginning of July.

@ColinUK - I had to wear a heart monitor once, back in the day when it was all wires and a box the size of a Walkman clipped to my belt. I had no episodes while I was wearing it either. They never did find out the cause of my episodes and they don't happen anymore anyway. My echocardiogram did pick something up but it was described as trivial on the letter I got afterwards.

Looking forward to more tennis today with 3 Brits into their respective QFs, so best get all my chores out of the way before coverage starts at 1 o'clock. Unfortunately there's a clash between Draper's match at Queen's and Boulter's match at Nottingham, so it'll be one on BBC2 and the other on iPlayer on the laptop, one of the advantages of 21st Century tech.

During last summer’s heat wave I googled suggestions to keep the bedroom cool & a few were rally helpful:- keep your bedroom door open at night & the other doors in the house as well so, the air can circulate through the house & even temperatures out also, don’t put on any lighting, be it the main bedroom light or bedside lamps, & use in the lights in the hall to give dim lighting through the open door. Also, ice or frozen peas on the nape at the back of your neck or the inside of your wrists can cool you down fast if needed?

I’m not complaining as NI, where I’m at, is still coolish, dampish & sunnyish but, no heatwave, yet while you lot over the water in GB are baking! Of course, it’s bad for hay fever as pollen is trapped & the grass grows REALLY fast! No complaint’s, though: the grass is always greener on the other side; I, in italics, could end up complaining about a heatwave too? 🙄:rofl:
