Congratulations @gail2 on your HS today
It is a black elder, I had one and it is attractive with dark red/black feathery leaves and white/pink flowers. It is pretty vigorous so should fill your space quite quickly. Another one which is quite vigorous is photinia red robin, does sometimes have flowers but primarily grown for the red/green colour of the leaves.

thank you yes it has black feathery leaves no flowers yet but its 3ft now and 2 ft wide, the leaves are not properly black yet, they had one that was really black which was £60 I didn't want to spend that much but spotted this one which isn't as black yet but was £20 so I don't know if the garden centre made a mistake but im not complaining.

Morning all. 6.2.

Was exhausted yesterday. I wilt in the ridiculous heat and humidity. Still clocked in 15k steps but mainly under the shade of my sunbrella.

Given I’m wearing the HR monitor thing today I’m off to the gym first thing. Then contact lens check up (I don’t wear them often but the check up is overdue) then volunteering at QB before attending an introduction for those interested in guiding tours there.

Morning all
Took the dog for a quick game of ball over the park just now, I didn't feel energetic enough for a proper walk. She woke me up at 4.30 so I let her in the garden for a wee, went to have a wee myself, while mid-stream I heard her barking furiously, pelvic muscles sprang into action and I charged out there so she didn't wake up the entire street!
This dog never barks, I have only heard her once before in over a year so goodness knows what she saw out there, maybe a fox or deer?
Anyway, just had a coffee and heading back to bed for a bit.
I think I was 6.0 when I woke up. Still haven't spoken to the nurse about my insulin, I emailed her yesterday afternoon so hopefully she will call back. I feel like I'm doomed never to get this Trurapi

Enjoy your day everyone and keep cool. 😎

Morning all, 7.3 here, seem to be having a run of 7s now the weather has warmed up, probably because I did a stint of gardening at daughter’s yesterday morning before it got too hot, then spent the afternoon sitting around.

Morning all. 6.6. The forecast is for 30° today so i won't be doing much. Its too hot to do any gardening, the sun is on it for most of the day, so i'm meeting a friend this morning for a coffee, a quick shop in Lidl then home to the fan.

Morning folks. An unusual, for me, 8.8! Hoped it was a sensor problem, nope, meter 8.8! Looks like I’ve steadily risen from 6ish at 3am. Very strange.

It’s gonna be hot hot hot! It was only 18 yesterday, pleasant enough. 25 today, 27 tomorrow! Too hot for me, I’m afraid. It’s “ helping with swimming day” then lunch under the dappled shade of the grape vine, and then in paddling pool under the parasol, I might even indulge in a paddle myself! Daughter wants to do the holiday packing so will leave Zara and Eden with us for the afternoon.

Take care everyone.

Morning all. 🙂 6.4 here.

We had chips for dinner last night - hubby had been painting the house all day (looks v nice indeed) so I wasn’t expecting the usual fine dining experience. The carb from my sausage and chips kept on giving and giving. A bedtime correction seems to have sorted it out.

It’s already hot out there. I’ll be hanging around in the shade, methinks.

They REALLY have shrunk that RIGHT down! 😱

That is a cracking price for something that big, make sure you keep it well watered.

A 5.6 for me today. A hot day ahead by the look of it. 🙂

07:00 BS 5.1 Ooohhhhh! SO close! Ah well! Pretty happy to wake in decent figures again! 🙂

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Very strange graphs the last few days but, hopefully settling down for more of my usual peaks & troughs of meal hills & in between meals valleys: never been an even smooth graph; that only appears as a 90 days Daily Patterns graph! Towards the end of yesterday, in the early evening, I seemed stuck on the Tibetan plateau but, restrained myself from adding more & just trusted, I am starting to get the hang of this start of alternating higher & lower basal now, that the higher basal would bring me down overnight: indeed it did; overnight graph is a steady ish stroll down the mountainside!

My graphs will normalise once basal levels out to an average & it’s just the start few days that creates strange graphs!

Just had a rather luxurious breakfast, tesco shopping yesterday, of poached eggs was an overcooked DISASTER, imagine Craig Revel Horwood, as I have yet to get eggs right in the air fryer & smoked salmon with a limited edition Starbucks Toffee & Honey Frappuccino on club card price. I WILL keep trying eggs in the fryer & will get it right, SOME day? :thankyou::thankyou::thankyou: That’s for the 3 bows with the incense sticks like my mum did to “The Goddess of Mercy” when she was alive! I notice that sometimes when looking up going across the hall from bedroom to kitchen for breakfast & think of my late mum! I noticed it this morning. 🙂 In fond memory of mum!

A lot of Chinese households have a mirror in the hall directly opposite the front door for “Feng Shui” to reflect bad “karma” back out the front door & above the mirror, some have a table below, a shelf for “The Goddess of Mercy” porcelain figure & pots to stick in burning incense sticks. Just a side note I thought you might find interesting, is that burning incense sticks, always in 3’s, stuck upright burns for exactly 30 minutes & that was used as a clock to measure the passage of time in ancient times long before western clocks were invented & available ONLY to the Emperor from the Qing dynasty!

Morning

4.0 exactly after a bad night, even with the windows open and the fan on, upstairs was still very stuffy, going to see mum again today so a nice walk in the heat, although it was hotter when we went running in the evening than when I walked to mums at the lunchtime, thankfully as it was hills night there was quite a lot of shade, and we did a run walk rather than running the whole time. Tonight is 2 hrs of yoga.

Morning all, 5.3 for me. I had a beautiful sleep last night for once!
It's a gorgeously sunny day.

7yo is a bit poorly with a sore throat but insisted on coming to school because she is convinced it will finally be her turn to be 'star of the week', which they give out on Thursdays. I really hope it is her turn as she has been waiting all year and there are only three weeks of term left, but of course you never know what will happen with these things. She did a cracking bit of writing last week so I have my fingers crossed for her.

Had a low of 3.1 at 2am (again) took half a sachet of High5 glucose, straight up to 9.3 then level at that level all night until morning. The Clinic has just cancelled my next appointment for staff sickness. Of dear.

Feel OK though and have put on shorts so my knees can enjoy the sun. BG now OK after porridge and higher rapid beforehand.

Nick

5.6 on what looks like being another scorcher. Woke up at 4am and had to kick off the duvet. It's our summer one but still too much, even with both bedroom windows open.

Enjoyed the late Fathers' Day meal out yesterday evening - skipped a starter, had pan-roasted harissa crusted lamb rump for main and a cappuccino and mini brownie dessert. Place was really busy, although most people had chosen to eat alfresco on the terrace.

Usual Thursday swim before lunch, a bit of grocery shopping and then tennis to watch this afternoon. I hope the pool is less busy that it was Tuesday so I can just swim lengths without having to go round people who don't seem to understand what lane swimming means.

The hot weather we've been having down here in the south seems to be spreading northwards today, so I expect everyone will be baking by the weekend. They're even forecasting 33 degrees here for Saturday.

Have a great day and stay safe in the sun.

@Martin.A Could you maybe strap on a fake shark fin? I’m sure that would clear the lane of choice!
