Group 7-day waking average?

Not usually this early but my wife has just been picked up and is on her way to Heathrow. 5.8 when I tested. Can't decide whether to go back to bed.

Congratulations on your HS yesterday @PattiEvans

Morning after a bumping along in 4s most of night after a 2u correction dose before bed I woke up to a 3.9 on getting up but happy.
Quiet day yesterday and webinar went fine but always pleased when it is over so no more to do now and had about 50 on the call.
Around Cheshire and the Wirral today but as warm must find time for an ice cream.
So bins put out and dogs walked and will have a lie on sofa for an hour.
Possibly go to a local Council Meeting tonight for first time in decades to support a local issue and anyway should be of interest.
Anyway enjoying life at the moment.and hope you are too.

6.5 for me this morning on waking after a relatively uneventful night. Especially welcome since I am currently battling a mild dose of flu I picked up over the weekend. Weather here in the West of Ireland has been changeable over the past days and spells of damp weather are pretty much sure to give me a cold/flu thanks to my immune system getting clobbered (with multiple bouts of pleurisy and pneumonia) as an infant.

Have a great day everyone.

Oops! Can’t remember when I last posted! Had a tough time of it as the weather has stayed warm, wet & cloud covered be it actually raining or not: asthma/hay fever combo hit me very badly! My routine & sleeping pattern is all over the place as I sleep WHEN I can & very often wake up coughing up catarrah, phlegm as Siri is refusing to help me spell it, & gave up using extra Ventolin as it makes my heart race & I’m still constantly wheezing!

06:26 BS 3.9 not waking as I ate about 03:50 ish & there’s still about 90 minutes of active NR left. Had a giant marshmallow, loads of water as it was intensely sweet, had 4 nice biscuits & a cup of plain mint tea as I just couldn’t stand more sweetness of milk & honey in tea! Still waiting fir libre to catch up & will be monitoring so, no sleeping now like I’d intended to do. Thought of you lovely lot & so, I’m posting while I still have you in mind & before I forget!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉 Just that emoji today for you lovely lot as I’m not in an emoji mood! Although, having just typed that, I made myself laugh! So, a surprising :D after all!

My waking BS has been all over the place as I, in italics, have been sleeping all over the place with some lows & some highs but, I’m surprised to have still maintained TIR to the usual around 50/60% at 56% & still A1c of8.2%. Although, the libre’s A1c has never been reliably accurate or inaccurate in any predicable way the whole 2 years I’ve had it: always need the blood tests to tell me what it actually is!

I did spend the start few days in bed nit moving much so, of course that didn’t help my weight & when it crept back up to 92.4 kilos I forced myself up & do my usual things moving around the house & just have to go a bit slower & sit & catch my breath in between doing things with plenty of “Gasping Stops!” So, moving more & literally steaming to catch my breath the last 3 days & I AM NOT WEIGHING MYSELF; it’ll just dishearten me! How long will this damp, sunny weather last for?

07:11 BS 4.3 libre is very slow to catch up or I have to eat more biscuits?

My SIL called me last night so, I know they’re back from HK & we caught up. I told her about my social worker handing me off after 2 years to another group of people to get me sheltered accommodation. The social worker suggested one that’s right in the centre of town & suggested going there to have a look & introduce my interest etc ahead of the other team which, I’ve yet to meet. I asked my SIL if she could take me so, she & eldest brother are coming round at 11am to have a look round.

07:20 BS 4.7 still very slow to rise so, signing off now & keep monitoring & have MORE sweetness of biscuits if needed: non diabetics cannot understand the need to force ourselves to eat more sweet things when it tastes disgustingly sweet; has to be done sometimes!

5.0 for me. The weather looks and feels more Autumnal rather anywhere close to Spring.

Had my cholestrol chat yesterday, the CP mentioned the Lipid clinic, I told her I didn't go there, she then asked why I wanted to talk to her? I replied I didn't but I was told you wanted to talk to me. After a few more questions, it transpired she had the wrong person and there was no need for the chat. Sigh.

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Morning all. 🙂 A 5.2 for me...nice.

It’s looking fine out there, so it must be a Wednesday, my busiest day at work. Having said that, we’re winding down the Welsh classes atm so I finish at 3pm today - my 7-9 class has finished until September, yay! So I get to have dinner with my OH and I won’t feel totally wiped out tomorrow morning.

The Omnipod 5 continues to mess with my head. I hope the DSN can sort out a meeting with an Insulet rep asap. The constant lows and random, stubborn highs are becoming a real pain - it’s all too unpredictable! She said not to switch to manual mode just yet, but I think I’ll try it out over the weekend and see if my BGs are more stable.

Enjoy your mid-week, folks.

Morning all. 4.9! Wow! Feast or famine springs to mind.

Had the worst hypo ever yesterday morning after obviously being on here too long and forgetting I’ve changed my bolus to Fiasp. Lowest, 2.9 on Libre, 3.1 on metre. I felt terrible, this was in the middle of eating my breakfast, finished it and ate a chocolate oatie thinking the toast would hit me soon,it didn’t, the sweat was pouring off me. I almost rang Mr Eggy who was still in bed but I managed to get up and get my Kendal Mint Cake, chomped loads, I usually find it impossible to eat when I’m hypo but I was like a gannet, I just wanted to feel better. Eventually it started rising, and yeah, you’ve guessed it, it shot up to 13 within half an hour! So I felt terrible again. Anyhoo, I had a busy day, cooked and chopped and stirred from 9.30 to 4, my BGs were all over the place but I survived to tell the tale. Today, I have already had my breakfast before coming on here. Duck egg on toast. I started eating at 5.1 and now down to 3.6, 4.2 on the meter. I feel fine and will ride it out. The Fiasp is a lot faster then the NovoNotSoRapid, I just need to remember and change my morning routine!

Childcare day today for Zara and Eden, and the forecast is hot! A day in the garden in order, lunch under the shade of the grapevine and maybe the paddling pool will make an appearance.

PS, yesterday wasn’t all doom and gloom, I received the renewal for our buildings and contents insurance, it’s gone down by £50 for the year. I was emailed a £30 gift card from Tesco mobile as I took out a new contract in April, that was a nice surprise, it’s to be spent in Tesco. New books? Then butcher grandson, who Mr Eggy picked up from work and took home, gave us a huge chicken, half a dozen duck eggs and two packs of pastrami. They couldn’t sell them as sell by date was up yesterday, so I cooked the chicken last night as I couldn’t fit it in any of many freezers, I’ll freeze most of it, saving some for sandwiches today and some for tea tomorrow. Froze the pastrami in two slice packs, and eggs last ages after their use by date, we’ve both had one today for breakfast. Win, win all round, wish I’d put the lottery on!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Congratulations on your HS.

Congrats on the HS @Bloden.

Morning all. After yesterday's highs i've woken this morning to a 4.8, no doubt caused by the amount of corrections i had, the low alarm in the night, 2 JBs (which didn't stop the just into the red line on the graph for around 2hrs) but i had a much better night's sleep. I'm wondering whether the high overnight spikes are hormonal.

@eggyg glad you're feeling better after the hypo.

Well done @Bloden on your HS. :star: A 5.5 for me this morning.

I've been researching online and I think if I delve into accessibility I can programme it to do the same as my Motorola, where you just place 3 fingers on the screen. I'll try to sort it!
Evening @PattiEvans. I have a Samsung A56 and mine uses the side buttons for screenshots. It took me many attempts topppppppp get "the knack" of getting a result! I need to press simultaneously the (middle) volume down button and the (lower) off switch VERY quickly. No lingering. Then there is a not so short period of no response followed by the screen briefly flashing and leaving a screenshot menu bar on the bottom of the screen. This menu bar only lasts for a couple of seconds, then normal screen resumes.

I still can't do this with one hand, even though it looks theoretically possible. The phone is unbalanced and tries to fall out of that one hand!

5.9

Met up with a friend yesterday who needed distraction from an impending procedure that killed his mum at the age he is now. So basically we met and I just took the **** out of him for hours on end but it worked!

We walked from King’s Cross along the canal to the V&A Storehouse at Hackney Wick. The Storehouse opened last Friday and it’s a massive warehouse and conservation centre where the V&A keep approximately one million items.

There’s no curated galleries, you just go in and wander. Very little is behind glass and you can see conservators at work as you explore. It’s fascinating and very, very different to a museum.

We had been there for two hours and had managed to mooch around one and a bit floors. Absolutely will return and will take advantage of the Order It scheme they have. You select up to 5 objects that are stored there and they’ll bring them to you for your own personal study / enjoyment / satisfaction etc. and you can get hands on with them.

Only object photo I took was this one that I’m sure many will recognise….
Mum has the exact same model still.

After that we came back in to town for American Ballet Theatre at the Linbury as part of the Next Generations Festival which highlights top students from a variety of renowned ballet / dance schools.
It was clearly a showcase but it featured some truly talented dancers that I’m expecting will have good careers ahead.

Others I’m seeing in the festival include Paris Opera Junior company, National Youth Ballet of Finland, Royal Ballet, Rambert, Central.

Aaaghh! What a day! I've struggled to keep my levels under 10 all day. Finally, before dinner, they came down to 7.7. Despite pre bolussing, since eating the graph shows a vertical time to 16 again. I'm getting very fed up now!
Perhaps a basal test might shed light on the problem? If it were me I’d suspect too little basal.
