Group 7-day waking average?

Hi,
Some mornings I feel a slight headache. I check my BG and its low but only 5.5 to 6.5 so I thought it was dehydration as I do not drink a lot of water. However if I have more carbs the day before the slight headaches seem to reduce or disappear. My general BG is 96% in range between 5 and 10mmols/mol so maybe I should increase the carbs slightly. Its all very complicated!
I do not take any meds its all diet. I am overweight but my last reading was 37mmols which is great, I eat less than 100g of carbs a day. One slice of bread a day, no rice, no potatoes, pasta once a week but that has little effect for some reason.

It would be great to feel good, have good readings and lose weight but I cannot seem to manage all at the same time.
The headaches could be carb withdrawal. It does happen to some people. I believe that if you can stick it out it will cease eventually. 5.5 to 6.5 is the level people without diabetes run at, so it's not really low.

Have you cut down on your caffeine intake recently? This can also cause daily headaches while your body adjusts to the lack of stimulant.

Hello all - it's quite a nice day - bit overcast but the sun is getting through and there are some blue patches.

5.3 this morning - the HCL does seem to be learning and keeping me in range nearly all the time.

Going to a party at 6pm and hope that by 5pm I can put some make up on. Got shampoo in my eye in the shower this morning and it's been quite inflamed, but I've put drops in and it's slowly getting better.

Had quite a late night last night binge watching the Pan Am 103 programme. At least we can watch it with some equanimity at this distance. At the time we were airline crew working on 747s and it was a bit close for comfort. Didn't bear thinking about!

Congratulations to @Pam123 @goodybags and @Martin.A on your HSs.

Happy Birthday :party::party: and many more of them to @Martin.A . Hope you have a lovely meal tonight.

So... have a lovely day everyone.

4.7 this morning, funny thing BGs they way can completely surprise you. Reduced my mornings' basal by 1, now down to 16u Humulin I, still 8u for my evening dose.
Had another would-be hypo this afternoon - the third day in a row, another 1u off basal perhaps?

It was cloudy earlier but brightened up now with long spells of sunshine. I went for a ten-minute walk today, with my support, and had to stop 50 yards from home as I was losing my balance again. I wish the doctors' would look further into this, I mean I'm only 60 - my dad was eighty when he encountered the same problem.

I had a handyman with his friend to cut my hedge today, then the window cleaner arrived - looking like an expensive day one way or another.

Congratulations to @Pam123 , @goodybags and @Martin.A on your HSs, and I hope you're enjoying your birthday today, Martin.

Try and drink a bit more as that may help. Check you sleeping position, if your pillow isn't particularly good it may be putting a strain on your neck. Neck problems can give you headaches particularly if you sit at the computer for extended times.
Have a look on the internet for neck exercises to do before you go to bed.
Thanks that is helpful. I sit all day sit most of the evening then go to bed - not a recommended lifestyle!

Hope you managed to get your mascara on Patti. If you’re anything like me no one will recognise you with naked eyelashes. 😛

5.3 this morning!

We spent the day at Ringstead Bay. Parked in the National Trust car park and walked 400 feet downhill to get to the beach! Lovely cafe and play park for 7yo and the beach was beautiful too. Then we walked for half an hour back to the car. Glad I grew up walking up Welsh hills!! I'm pretty impressed with myself considering I'm 5 months pregnant too!
We all had ice lollies to celebrate reaching the cliff top. Next time we will pay to park in the cafe carpark!!

Morning all. First up! But with a shocking 21!!! Went out for a curry last night which i thought i did well with, pre bolussing, splitting dose etc. I did do well until an hour before bed when i hypoed. Treated that but shot up with a vertical high around 2am according to the graph. I feel dreadful. To top it off i've come downstairs to find the fox has dug up the prickle strips 😡😡!!

We're off to Devon for the day to see younger daughter. Catch up later.

Morning back to normal feeling with a flat 5.0 so not a House Special but perhaps we could call it a Hawaiian Special ( for those of a certain age they may see the connection).
Had Pizza last night but mine was not as good as usual and differed from my wife’s in that it was a bit flatter and looked slightly underdone so not quite tip top as normal.
Anyway BG stayed low and a correction dose to deal with second rise meant I needed to take 3 Dextrose which took it to 7 and then dropped to a lovely flat 5 for rest of night.
Good sleep and dogs were so happy when we picked them up yesterday and it was so good to see them again.
Home alone tonight with fur babies as wife out to her friends Surprise Birthday Bash and a quiet day planned after busy week.
Do feel more energised this week and next week at work looks very good with some nice drives out.
HAGW all

Morning all. 🙂 5.9 here.

Looking a bit mix out there and more of the same next week, boo hoo.

Picked hubby up at about half 6 yesterday evening and we were home by half eight. The dogs, unsurprisingly, were over the moon to see him - me too LOL, they’ve been very clingy the last few days, following me around all day and sitting staring at me in the evening.

Today in a nutshell: walk the dogs, breakfast out, go shopping. Fab!

Morning all,

5.8 for me. The result of yesterday's dates x4... they weren’t as good as I thought they would be, as well as almost all sugar. So I won't need to concern myself with them anymore.

Not much planned for today. Wishing you all a lovely day.

Morning all. 5.6.
Had a restless night from 3.30ish. Tummy troubles, for a change.NOT! Decided I need to start the process all over again, it’s three years since I first contacted the doc re bloating, nausea etc. After seeing gynaecologist, upper GI consultant, lower GI consultant and a gastroenterologist. Had a colonoscopy and internal and external scans I’m still no wiser to what the problem is. Not one of them offered to send me for a MRI which, hopefully, would show something or nothing. Then I’d know one way or another. I’m seriously thinking of paying for one. The gastroenterologist who was the last consultant I saw about two years ago, said he’d see me in six months to make sure I didn’t slip through the net. I then got a letter to say they didn’t need to see me again. So of course I’ve slipped through the net again. Sorry for whinging, I mostly deal with it but sometimes I go through a bad patch, ie now, and get so fed up. It really affects my life, I’m too scared to go abroad now, I don’t go out for meals very often anymore, unless it’s tried and tested, and I’m 100% certain it affects my diabetes control. I’m going to mention it to the DSN at my appointment on Monday, hoping she can make me a face to face appointment with a GP, I’m not holding my breath.

Enough of the pity party. Got our almost 10 month old grandson today for a few hours whilst mummy and daddy work. That’ll be nice, this is only the second time we’ve had him on his own as daughter hasn’t long been back at work, hope he’s a good boy like he was last time.

@freesia hope you’re feeling better for your trip to Devon, have a good day with your daughter.

Have a super Saturday, weather mixed, bit of rain, bit of sunshine, breezy, again.

5.7 this morning, which is pretty good after a nice 2-course meal out yesterday evening and a piece of birthday cake when we got home. Not a proper birthday cake, just a token one - a carrot cake with 2 candles. It would have been a struggle to get 7 on it let alone 77.

Thanks again for all yesterday's birthday wishes.

Quiet day ahead, but our friends just over the border in Surrey have invited us to a games night this evening. Not my kind of thing but I feel obliged to join in. Our German friends will be there too, so at least it'll be a chance to have a bit of a chat while we're all together.

It's lovely and sunny here this morning and it looks like we're in for another nice, warm day.

@eggyg - I read yesterday that they've declared a drought up your way. Hosepipe ban can't be far off then.

Hope everyone enjoys the last day of Spring. Meteorological Summer starts tomorrow. Have to wait a while for the Solstice, which isn't until 03:42 on 21st June, I believe.

PS Happy belated birthday Martin.
Stayed at the Coppid Beech last week which I believe is your part of the world.

This forum is the place to let out any frustrations so let off as much steam as you need.
We also know that you are probably one of the most supportive posters on here and rarely complain and focus much more on others than yourself.
Equally we recognise to be able to make others happy you need to be happy in yourself which on occasion we all are going to face particular challenges due to a whole host of issues.
Take care all

Good morning all! 4.8 today for me.

Just realised I’ve missed loads on this thread as been so busy over the past few days I’ve not had time to catch up and post on here. So, congratulations to all those HSs I have missed and care to those who are suffering at the moment.

@eggyg - sorry to hear of your troubles. Take care of yourself.

Had the grandchildren yesterday and took them out to a local fair in Stratford. They had a whale of a time, amazing how expensive it all is now though!

My son and his wife are coming here today and we are going to visit my parents in the care home, hoping that Mum is having a good day.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
