Group 7-day waking average?

I've started measuring again due to health issues this year. Hermit since Christmas. Can hardly walk/move but feeling much better today as I've started on soluble Aspirin. Feel that's what made the difference. Thought I was pegging out and about to have another mini stroke like last year. BG this morning just over 11 and Tuesday and Monday just over 10. Not best pleased with those readings. I keep blaming the strips as they're out of date. Would that make a difference?

Been prescribed Metformin and getting calls from the doc. Now they're bothering about me. Better late than never I don't think. I said I'm not taking them I haven't got a measurer. They've never given me any help whatsoever. She said you don't need to bother measuring. This isn't true with Metformin is it? They can all bugger off. I'm doing one meal a day even though it's killing me but I feel better on it. Need to get skinny and lose the cankles.

Out of date strips may make a small difference if they work, some will just give error message if they are. I have used out of date strips whilst waiting for new ones from Amazon and then compared and there was no real difference.
GPs are not obliged to prescribe a monitor and strips unless people are taking medication which could cause low blood glucose which metformin is not one. So unless you are lucky you will have to self fund.
You may not have seen the link for the Freshwell program which may give you some ideas for meals and changes to diet but it is up to you whether you take the metformin, it may help you but diet is also important. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/

Morning all. 4.4! Apparently my Apple Watch has been buzzing all night according to Mr Eggy, although I’ve skimmed the bottom line all night I’ve not gone into the red, compressions lows I suspect. Up early as I was so hot in bed and uncomfortable, Come downstairs and it felt really cold, weather thingymajig presently showing less than 4 degrees! Just hormones then!

Had a busy day yesterday, after helping with swimmimg and feeding the hordes, we went to daughter’s new house to fix a washing line up for her and to assemble the toy box we bought Eden for her birthday way back in February. I got more jobs ticked off my list in the morning, only a couple of things left. Not sure I’ll get them done today as we’re planning on heading into town, I’m running dangerously low on books, I get twitchy if I only have dozen or so on my TBR shelf. Birthday card for middle daughter needed, and we’ll pop into Primark to see eldest granddaughter to say Bon Voyage as she’s off to Tenerife tomorrow for a week. She works there BTW we’re not just using it as a meeting place! Mr Eggy still needs to close his mother’s bank account and finish sorting out her “ estate”. Trying to get an appointment at Virgin is a nightmare, he tried to do it online, they said they were very busy and unable to make an appointment, and to call, leave a message, and someone would call him back, that’s three weeks ago! So he’s going straight to the horse’s mouth and going into the branch. The final refund he was waiting for only arrived the day before we went to Harris so he couldn’t do anything before then. She died in January, in fact, exactly four months ago today. He just wants it finished with.

Think today is the last day of good weather, rain forecast from tomorrow. I actually can’t remember the last time it rained, it’s well over a month ago at the very least. We never even had one drop in Harris. We’ll be whinging this time next week we’ve had too much! Never happy are we?

Have a fab Friday.

Morning and a 4.7 for me and had one of those days yesterday where my BG stayed low either due to me giving too much insulin or simply one of my occasional spells where my BG does not respond as much to carbs.
Breakfast was normal but had to have a Cheese Toastie at 11 in morning in Chester as went low and then came home for lunch and had cereal.
Then went back out to Altrincham and then back home and did some gardening in evening. So was a very nice day but all evening despite potatoes I did not spike as normal and ended up with a few Dextrose and a biscuits etc before bed to try and get my BG up.
So stayed most of night in 5s and 6s which was good but lower than expected.
So will try reducing my breakfast insulin to 2u to see ( as never keen to change my basal) and see how I get on.As I am at home today apart from a midday trip to dentist I can manage much better as don’t have a lot of time driving to work around.
Anyway looking forward to long w/ end and some rain and wish everyone a nice break.

PS forgot to mention I had a text from GPs saying they were changing my Libre 2 prescription to is it the Libre 2 upgrade ( lasts 15 days rather than 14).
They said there should be no problems upgrading so will wait and see if my App remains problem free as it is fine at moment.

Well good morning my fellow kernels of diabetic sunshine!

5.3

Saw Shucked yesterday at Open Air Theatre Regent’s Park and it’s great! I already loved the cast recording but it was even better on stage.
Almost as funny as Titanique. Almost as ridiculous. Equally huge heart.
It’s set in the fictional Cob County, a town where many moons ago corn was planted and it grew so well it formed walls all around the town so nobody ever arrived or left.
The corn has suddenly started to die.
The heroine Maizy, of course, is about to get married to her beau Beau but is moved to leave Cob County and seek help to rescue the corn.
She travels all the way to…. Tampa where she meets a conman podiatrist (a Corn doctor) who sees an opportunity to escape the Mob who are pursuing him as he owes them a lot of money (because why not!).
There’s a plot involving mineral deposits under the town, illicit whiskey, a pretty cow Carl called Pretty Cow Carl, Carl The Pretty Cow or Dinner and some wonderful songs.
It’s high energy, it’s silly, it’s beautifully staged, it’s on for a very limited run and I highly recommend it.IMG_3177.jpeg

The local Primark here has a cafe in it!

Morning all. 6.1 which quickly dropped to 5.4. Breakfast had, washing on. I just need to shower and make the bed then the day is mine to sit outside with my book or crochet and enjoy the last rain free day for a while. The only thing i need to do is feed older daughter's cats but thats later. I'll do jobs around the house tomorrow while its raining.

Enjoy the sunshine wherever you are.

5.6 for me this morning. 🙂

Morning all. 🙂 7.4 here.

I keep having to set Activity mode (this means the O5 is aiming for a BG of 8.3 instead of the default 6.1) from 10pm to 1am and sometimes in the early hours as well to stop my glucose from crashing into Hypoland. It makes no sense at all. If I can spot a trend, why can’t the algorithm do the same? That’s its job! My list of things to discuss with the DSN is getting looooonger.........

A quiet day today - walk, eat, pack, drive to mum’s - then a busy weekend of socializing, yay! Not sure what to pack since the weather’s on the change. I’ll just stuff the car with everything I could possibly need LOL.

Good morning. 11.5 @ 6ish agh. That'll be the one and a half bag of Wotsits I pigged out on last night then. 🙄 I just went a bit mad. Wotsits are the only snacky thing that I can't resist. There's boxes of chocolates hanging about and I don't even give them a thought. :( Have a good day all. Back to one meal a day then...

Another lovely sunny start here (but apparently the BH clouds are gathering).

A 5.1 for me to kick things off 🙂

Sorry you are finding the algorithm so pants @Bloden

That musical sounds absolutely brilliant @ColinUK

My kids are really into Starkid which (I think) is an American company that may have started as a college project. They create/pastiche inventive musical theatre on what I think used to be a shoestring - but they recently came to the UK on a small tour, so maybe they are growing. This sounds very like one of theirs!

Good morning.8.2 today, going in the right direction again.
The sun is shining though it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Probably no club apiary tomorrow afternoon, but I am bringing an observation hive to the local library tomorrow morning for the kids to celebrate bee day. ( a few days after the official date but first date I was free)
I will try and remember to take a few photos.

Hubby dug over a small flower bed next to the path as it was full of weeds and a small hawthorn bush. It's at the end of the veggie beds and get lots of sun so we have planted it up with sage, marjoram and thyme. First he had to dig out a wheelbarrow full of building rubble. Old house bricks, breeze blocks and concrete. The whole bed is only 2 large paving slabs size wise.

Hope the bank holiday weekend Has some sunshine. We are going to a local steam rally on Sunday as that is forecast to be the sunniest day. I also need to take some flapjacks to the WI catering tent.
Everyone have a nice Friday and take care

A strange night & it was a case of Pat Benatar’s Sleep Is a Battlefield because I literally had nightmare after nightmare so, I woke high today 08:45 BS 10.9. And my overnight graph is like climbing a strangely shaped mountain in that it climbed, plateaued a bit then, climbing again 3 times when I woke briefly & turned back over to sleep again! Anyway, I’m am now &, for once, can’t remember what I dreamed as I nearly always do when I wake up: probably just as well as I most likely don’t want to remember & best not to dwell on it! It must have been the much oilier than I realised Duck Comfit I had for dinner last night: WHOAH! came out the microwave swimming in oil to which I lifted off the duck leg onto another plate & used 4 sheets of kitchen towels to soak it up before eating the still very saturated duck leg! It was very good but, I’ll probably never get it again as the oil is horrendously too much! I do very occasionally like Silver Hill crispy aromatic duck with the breast meat, pancakes & hoi sin sauce from tesco but, it was out of stock & thought I’d try the leg instead in Silver Hill Duck Comfit. My dinner meal hill had dropped back down after dinner to the 6’s before bed & it just climbed 3 times for each set of nightmares I woke briefly from! I felt relieved when I woke up properly just now! I definitely won’t be eating that again!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

I think I’ll just have plain toast & tea this morning as even the thought of butter just now is too much: I’ve had a fat overload; lesson learnt!
