Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all and another beautiful day with a flawless blue sky.

4.9 this morning, though there was a beautiful line all through the night. Last night I couldn't eat much of the pasta and meatballs as my nose blocked up, then streamed and I couldn't breathe. Of course I had bolussed for it all, so spent the latter part of the evening whilst watching Race across the World eating biscuits to fend off a fully blown hypo. It's Chronic Rhinitis and I do have a spray for it, but it doesn't seem to be at all effective. The GP I really don't like maintains there is nothing else available to treat it, but it's a darn nuisance for a person with T1!

Today I am going to take it easy apart from some light cooking - making potato salad so we can eat salads for lunch and doing something with Jersey Royals for dinner...

@Bloden I think the main fault with Omnipod 5 is that when you bolus it takes your hourly basal as IOB and adds it into the calculation for Bolus.

Lovely to read some good news from @eggyg, @Eternal422 (re: photography course) and @Gwynn.

Take care all and have a nice day.

Not here, though - not seen a smidgeon of blue sky all day, there's a cool northerly wind and I'm back in a sweatshirt. Air con in the car yesterday, heater today.

It also doesn't seem able to adjust the basal to seasonal changes. It's been warmer for weeks now and I'm having to use Activity mode from midday onwards just to stop my BG from constantly going low. We'll see...

7.2 today, rising 8.3 at brekkas. No hypos' today so far and I've been eating plenty of carby things as in Hot Cross Buns & Butter and one or two chocolates between meals. My BG at present 3 hours after lunch, are 6.6 so the basal working but not allowing them to drop too far. so could be much worse. I was very dizzy too.

I went out at midday to play some pool losing 4-1 and winning 1-0 mind you the 1-0 was playing a beginner so I don't know if that counts 🙄
It was chilly on the prom today as well as the the biting northerly was in full swing, just as well for wearing a hoodie rather than vest only. I was consistently cold yesterday afternoon too - both at the CBT course and the pizza restaurant. Cold too in the taxi back home - no luck really. It was then getting near sundown.

Lovely photos @eggyg, and good news then @Gwynn.

Don't worry, what we get today you are likely to get tomorrow!

14/05/2025 22:45 BS 9.7 a bit better after reducing basal again to 50 due to drops & my cycle is definitely over: thought it was the other day; definitely know it’s over after another day’s wait! I’m thinking I need 51 now, like I needed last summer & the only way I can get that is by alternative days of 50 & 52! Just like I did last summer by always putting 50 in the right thigh & 52 on the left thigh: wouldn’t work for Levermir but, then again, I CAN dial up single units with that; it worked last summer, despite my consultant saying I shouldn’t do that, as Tresiba is longer acting & I can’t dial up single units & only units of 2!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Oh, you don’t have to read the next bit as it’s iPad related! 🙄 I won’t know!

After getting up for the loo around 22:00 I couldn’t get back to sleep & stayed up watching cdrama. When my main newest iPad mini crashed on me & is currently in the middle os a complete reboot so, I’m posting on my older iPad mini that is on an older iOS. The A17 Pro just had a new iOS update on the 14th May &, thinking back now, it’s been behaving a little bit oddly since then & just now went a bright shade of fuchsia pink before it went black with at least 30% power left so, not out of power then, it kept doing it again a few times after I switched it back on after a few minutes! So, I erased it & doing a complete reboot & restore from iCloud.

I DO do this on a semi regular basis anyway & have all my external files backed up on a hard drive & just essentials & photos in iCloud! It’s SO much easier & quicker now since the A17 Pro as I can plug in hard drives directly & HAD to go through a computer, my over 10 years old MacBook Pro, with the older iPad minis! I’m always online watching cdramas & there’s si much advertising pop ups & the like so always clear my Safari data & cookies after every session & do a complete erase, reboot & restore about ever month or so anyway! This is the first time an iOs update has been a problem but, maybe the timing was just coincidental but, I picked an earlier back up on iCloud to reboot from on the 12th May before the update even though I have a backup from yesterday 15th May; it automatically backs up when it’s plugged in charging at night & there’s always 2 backups to choose from.

It’s just going to take a bit of time after the restore to put everything back on it! 🙄 & An Exasperated emoji! o_O

Good morning everyone

BG 4.8 nice and low

Today I have to go to Preston to have blood tests (for my Endo consultant). The NHS can do the bloods locally but the local surgery say they cannot transfer the results to Preston. I believe the blood tests involve those up to date leeches method!!! 🙂. At least my wife will be comming with me. Excellent.

I managed to get my new 5 pedal foot controller working correctlly on my keyboard. A tough job as the manufacturer of the keyboard doesn't support any foot pedal as yet (apparently they're working on one).

Hip is sore this morning. I was resting yesterday but somehow managed to do walking exercise for 181 minutes, but it was painful! I had no choice otherwise I would have rested properly.

Later on I will practice the hymn 'Jerusalem'. A great hymn and it needs either a full orchestra or a full pipe organ. Sadly I have neither available. My keyboard does an impressive facsimile (no idea how to spell that). I have written a decent score for it that is reasonably playable.

I think today will be fun

Have a great day whatever you are doing

Uhhhh! Don’t need to read this iPad moan either but, I just need t vent!

iPad mini STILL automatically update the latest iOS anyway & there’s still the odd little things happening like the volume going down to zero & I have to put it back, sometimes won’t let me & stays at zero & the power button not responding intermittently! There is practically nothing on my iPad, just the essentials from iCloud, so, it’s got to be the iOS! So, have to put up with it until the next update & I’ll report my problems to Apple so, they know to get the bugs fixed! 😡

Morning all.

Thankfully it’s Friday. Finding life a bit full on and busy at the moment.

9.7 as I got out of bed. “High” bit better than it has been.

Have a good day.

Another rant & I promise to stop after this! Now the volume keeps intermittently dropping to zero or randomly going up to 100% & I never know when it’s going to do what? It’s driving me nuts! o_O So either I can’t hear anything or I get deafened! 😡
I think I’ll give the A17 Pro a miss apart from checking on updates once a day & go back to using the mini 5!

Morning a 5.6 for me and finally a flattish line after a few higher readings.
@freesia I feel for you with your disturbed night but reminded me of a similar take told me by a Vet from Llandysul from Tina’s part of the world.
He grew up on a farm and the fox was raiding the henhouse and his dad waited up all night for the fox to appear.
Unbeknown to him his sons had been down the pub and stolen a stuffed fox from the local pub and put it in the henhouse.
The farmer woke up from a deep sleep and could not believe his eyes when he saw the fox right in front of him and fired his gun at it going to be bed very satisfied.
Apparently when they woke up the next day they went down the henhouse to inspect the nights work as the farmer was not a very good shot and they found that the fix was still there untouched but there were a few dead chickens around.
I don’t know to this day whether the story was a true one but it made James the Vet very happy in recounting it and he was a very shy man and a real gentleman.
Anyway I digress and have our normal weekly meeting and a trip to nursery later to pick up more compost and a few very small Tree Ferns which they rang us to say they had in.
Nice day catching up on admin yesterday so always better when that up to date.

Morning all. A 5.2 on my dodgy sensor which I’ve ignored all night. My Apple Watch has bipped at me all night. At one point I went downstairs to get my meter, Libre said 3.8 meter 5.7. I then knocked my alarms off! They’re back on now. As I had my meter handy I fingerpicked and it said 5.3. I’m obviously not allowed to lie down! I might give it another day or two before I rip it off!

Our last day today in Luskentyre, Harris. All good things must come to an end. Yesterday we just hung around the cottage, I mostly sat outside in the glorious weather reading my book. Mr Eggy decamped inside as it was too hot for him. At 4pm we had a walk down to the beach, neither of us took our cameras, we both collected shells. I found a starfish, calcified, another three whole sea potatoes ( sea urchins), they’re very delicate, and our favourite shell which we didn’t know existed until this holiday, blue ray limpet. They’re gorgeous. Today we’ll be packing and tidying up. And one last walk down to the beach. Another glorious day forecast.

Today is moving day for youngest daughter, fingers crossed everyone in the chain all complete simultaneously! I’m excited and nervous for them. Can’t wait to see their new home.

Have a fab Friday folks.

6.1 for me today, as I wander back after another one of my mini breaks from the forum.

Nothing of any excitement to report - May is a busy month for babies so I've been spending my days meeting very sweet small people! I've been struggling to find time for lunch so I'm confused as to why my BG is running steadily in the 6s, even after long accidental fasts - think my liver might think its being helpful and over-compensating.

Had to go for mandatory mask testing this week - at least now it's done with a snazzy machine - back in the Covid days, we were fit tested by putting a hood over the mask and then being sprayed with a variety of scents to see if we could 'taste' them through the mask. This way is much better - I pray this is all theoretical though and we never have another reason to have mandatory mask wearing.

Happy Friday everyone.

4.4 for me means i get my brekkie now along with 4 jbs

Morning all. 7.4. The sun is shining the sky is a very pale blue and looking at the tall trees, theres quite a breeze. Today i'm going out with my friend for our 'christmas' day (we don't buy gifts any more, we go out for a day somewhere). We're off for a wander around shops, meal at a Greek restaurant then off to the theatre. A day of laughter and relaxation and i'm looking forward to it (just hoping the heel isn't too painful). A bit of ironing to do this morning then after, a bit of pampering.

Congrats on the HS @eggyg. Have a safe journey back and i hope your daughter's move goes ok.

Ps. I found out the cause of the loud scrabbling noise night before last, it was the fox ripping up some plastic sheeting a neighbour had used to cover things. They are getting to be a nuisance. I think there must be a den nearby too as the one that visited us looking through the window last weekend was very small, a cub maybe.

Have a lovely day everyone. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.
