Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all. As Hughie Green would say, “it’s Take Your Pick time.” 4.4 on the sensor which has buzzed at me all night saying I’m hypo, according to my graph I wasn’t, or 6.4 on the finger pricker downstairs, or the 6.2 the Libre is showing now! It’s my own fault, I’ve put my sensor nearer the front of my arm and I don’t think there’s enough fat there, I’ve got skinny arms, so I always struggle getting it just on the right bit, I was trying to give the fattest bit a break! It’s happened before, but I thought I’d try again. Lesson learnt.

Another lovely day yesterday, we drove to Scalpay, a teeny island linked by a road bridge to North Harris. It’s got a sweet little harbour and a very old, 1787, lighthouse, one of the oldest in Scotland. Set just over 2km from the road so a lovely walk to get to it. It also had a cafe, not sure how they get the staff ( a lady of mature years should we say, and well past pension age) and supplies there. By the time we got there my Libre alarm was screaming at me, so I had carrot cake, without bolusing. It was very sweet. I went from 3.7 to 14.9 in about an hour! Ooops! Then of course I plummeted very, very fast. Anyhoo, after the cake we had a walk around, it really is a beautiful lighthouse, Eilean Glas if you’re interested. A woman told me there was a family of sea otters so I went off to try and see them. And I did, almost straight away, I was so excited, I saw one slip into the sea, too quick for a photo, stood for another minute or so and up it popped and slid back on the rocks with a fish! I got a photo as I was ready this time. It made my day. Walked back by the coastal path, quite a tough walk, lots of ups and downs and very hot by this time, and with BGs at almost 15 it felt like wading through treacle. I was glad to get back to the car. Fantastic views though, right over to Skye. Fabulous road trip, last one of the holidays, we’re going to chill until we leave on Saturday, a walk to the beach obviously, maybe some more shells?😉

Have a great day all.

Morning folks. 6.1
Killing time before heading to the GP for a 9am repeat of fasted blood tests and a discussion with the GP about what happens next in the hunt to discover what’s behind my random funny turns.
Volunteering at QB later.

Morning a slightly more respectable 5.7 plus virtually no DP seen today
This week I have been taking just 3 units of NovaMix30 (twice daily)
seems to be OK although currently I’m only eating twice a day whilst I’ve been off work

My new laptop arrived yesterday, it’s a good sized screen 17.3” hopefully be reasonably easy to use, for the technologically challenged like I am these days, just need to get it all set up and hopefully it’s easy to use as its first task awaits tomorrow

Did anyone else join the Abbott webinar thingy last night, they emailed me details a few days ago
I found it most interesting, a good reminder of some of the things we sometimes take for granted or get anxious about regarding consultations with HCP’s
it was hosted by Anna Ryder Richardson (who is PreDiabetic herself)

Must dash need to drive wife to work
Have a Terrific Thursday everyone
TC 😎

Morning all. 6.2 for me on waking after a flat and happily uneventful night.

Yesterday was pretty flat too, apart from a post-lunch spike because I waited a little too long for the second part of my lunch bolus (I had bacon bits with my caesar salad so needed to account for the protein).

We had rain here last night (should keep the farmers happy) but today looks like more sunshine.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. 🙂 7.8 here. It dawned on me that the Omnipod 5 has no idea that fasting BG should be between 4-7. Oh well. Hubby said “Give it 6 months...”

Sunny again! I don’t know what to wear LOL. I need to find some closed-toe sandals (ugly, ugly toenails) asap - my poor feet are overheating in trainers.

Wow! @eggyg. I LOVE otters.

Morning all

A 4.9 for me to start the day today. Surprisingly fresh-feeling on my dog walk earlier, but I suspect it’ll warm up pretty soon.

Good morning.6.7. Poor night spent time worrying about rear path drain run - total waste of time as not on agenda for weeks. Major concern is how to protect acer which is close to path. Could have been the chicken curry for dinner, a real tongue tingler, which put the bg up, worth it though.
Bit the bullet and ordered 2 skylights for kitchen - cant face cooking in gloomy space. Young Tyler busy digging a long drain through concrete, remarkably cheerful for a teenager.
Leg swelling up alarmingly between straps on brace - taking quite a long time to shrink down so left it off again last night - physio coming today so will probab!y get shouted at. Water - ducks back! Am getting pretty agile on the crutches so may get brownie points for that...
Lovely morning again. Hope everyone enjoying the sun.

Morning all. 6.4 after a disturbed night. The bloomin' fox was around again. Its left my plants alone (prickle strips are still working well in the rose) but i have empty plant pots by the side of my shed and it sounded like it was playing with them. After being kept awake for what seemed like ages, at 1.30am i stomped downstairs ready to chase it off, only to find no fox. However i did hear a noise coming from next door so hopefully he moved on. My job today? Move the plant pots.

Its cloudy and very cool here atm. Washing is out on the line already blowing in the wind. Hopefully the sun makes a reappearance after i've got my jobs for today done.

@eggy lovely photos. The sea otter is so cute. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Have a good day everyone.

Another 5.6 for me today. 🙂
And :star: @Silent Sands on that 5.2

Dez

Morning all
5.6 for me a perfect result

feeling very nervous today

Morning, a lovely 5.4 for me today after a couple of days of higher readings.

Had to get up in the night for the second night in a row due to a failed cannula. Very odd that it's happened twice in a row! I assumed insulin resistance was kicking in in earnest, but this latest cannula seems to have taken me back down to normal levels. Long may it continue!

Drama in library land yesterday: Year 11s went to Head of KS4 to complain I'd "kicked them out" of the library at lunchtime. What had actually happened was I'd locked the library to attend a meeting. They failed to mention to Head of KS4 that they weren't in the room, or anywhere near, when I'd done this! Head of KS4 sent me an angry email, to which I took great delight in writing a very polite but slightly petty reply, which another member of staff (who was CCd in) came to congratulate me on :D Oh dear, I really need to find better things to do!!

Good morning all! 6.8 for me today, mostly due I guess to a slice of Bakewell Tart eaten after my final course tutorial last night. My exam is next Tuesday, so some mock exams to do and final revision before then!

The Peak District photography course was really good, we both enjoyed it and learned loads. Need to make some notes as I’m sure we will forget some of it as sadly there is so much else going on that we won’t have lots of time at the moment for practicing photography.

Mum and Dad still aren’t settled, which I guess isn’t too surprising, Dad is worrying about keeping his financial records up to date, yet he’s not able to walk across his room to the computer. I honestly think he keeps so much needless stuff but it’s something he’s always done so he won’t change now. Sadly his mental capacity is reducing which just leaves him feeling frustrated and helpless. We’re visiting this morning, so I’m hoping Mum is ok as I’m struggling to cope when her dementia makes her say horrible things. We’re also thinking about clearing the house to sell it, something we need to do ideally this summer which is fast approaching. We have cancelled our June cruise, rearranging it for August to give us some time.

@eggyg - love the pictures! Makes me want to go up there, so another trip will have to be planned!

Take care everyone.

Morning all and 6.1 for me.

Went to the pharmacy this morning to collect my normal prescription items and also got more Novo Rapid. I won't need to order any more for a month or two now.

Dull and cool but forecast for sun later on.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. A 4.3 for me on this grey cloudy day.

Have a good day folks, and stay well.

Referrals for neurology and for a cardio 24hr halter thing confirmed.
GP thinks it might be atypical migraines but really doesn’t have a clue hence the referrals.

5.4 this morning, which has dawned cloudy, sunless and decidedly cool here in Berkshire. Complete change from yesterday when I got all our Wednesday laundry dry on the line. Unfortunately for those desperate for rain, eg farmers, there's still no sign of any.

After Home-Alone-Wednesday I now find myself home alone today, too. My wife and our eldest are in their offices and our youngest has just left to pick up some mates for a trip to Wales, stopping overnight and coming back tomorrow. He's promised to check in whenever they stop, and when they arrive. Although he passed his test 4 years ago this is only the second time he's ventured out of the local area.

Usual Thursday swim before lunch, and as my wife and I are eating alone tonight I have to pick up the ingredients for a Waitrose recipe she wants to try. In the meantime it's coffee and the newspapers.

Congrats @Silent Sands on that 5.2 yesterday

Whatever your plans, have a good day.

Good morning folks. It's cool and overcast outside today. Don't think we will get any rain though. A 7.8 this morning. Pretty good considering I had bacon and mushroom carbonara with tagliatelle last night. Good news on the blood tests. Everything normal and wait for it.......... HbA1c 48 :D
I was hoping for mid 50's so that was great news.
Still no power to the sheds but the outside sockets are working so we ran an extension cable to the spare freezer. I need to raid it today to top up our kitchen freezer. Hubby checking outside electrics again today.

Congrats on your HS yesterday @Silent Sands
Beautiful photos today made me smile
Hope the physio goes well today @TinaD
Sorry to hear your parents are not settled yet. It's so very difficult for them to lose their independence and for you dealing with their physical and mental decline. My heart goes out to you Tony @Eternal422

Take care everyone xx
