Group 7-day waking average?

5.8 for me on a lovely, sunny Berkshire morning and the forecast is for wall-to-wall sunshine and temperatures in the mid-20s. That bodes well with today being a washday. The first machine load is already on.

Home-Alone-Wednesday and currently waiting on a call-back from Green Flag, as when I called them the automated message said wait times were up to 30 minutes. Realised yesterday that we hadn't updated our policy when we changed our Audi so we did that online but got an email back later asking me to call as they needed to check some details, but without saying what. Other than that it's a quick trip over to B&Q in Reading and a stop-off at Sainsbury's on the way back, so I hope GF get back to me sooner rather than later.

Is anyone else using the DuckDuckGo browser? We recently started doing so as it blocks ads and tracking attempts and were horrified to see the stats for the last 7 days. While it blocked 38 tracking attempts for DUK it blocked 2,305 for HSBC, my bank.

Have a good day, whatever you're doing, and if it's outdoors I hope your day's as sunny and warm as ours.

Good morning. 6.00 which, given yesterdays ice cream consumption, is a miracle. Sweltering with leg brace rubbing skin off swollen limb. Decided to ignore doctors, who are clearly mad, took off brace, licked up another cone, slept for 8 hours...strapped back into torture device now for my world famous Hopalong Cassidy tribute act. Building works making progress 3 rooms ready for painting today. Stil! Cant make my mind uo about skylighrs in the kitchen.
When I had my leg brace on I wore a crepe bandage to stop it rubbing and protect my skin from sharp edges. Your building work sounds to be progressing. The problem with sky lights is they are hard to clean but do give good extra light.

Good morning
Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes while I've been struggling with sciatica pain.
I had a brainwave last night, I noticed that pressure relieved the pain, so I wrapped some of that stretchy bandage that sticks to itself round the most painful part of my leg, and it actually worked! I got a better sleep as a result.
Woke up with a 7.1, still running higher than I would like, but I don't want to increase tresiba yet as it may be partially due to the pain and the associated stress.

@eggyg I am loving your holiday photos, I visited the outer hebrides in 2008 and it's so beautiful there.

Good afternoon. It's scorching hot here. 8.1 this morning after a restless night. Forgot to mention yesterday that BG dropped to 6.7 after my walk to and from keep fit class. About 15000 steps including the keep fit.
Bees not settled in yet. Moved the frames with eggs, larvae and nursery bees into my hive. Shook the stragglers in. The foraging bees decided to go back into the nuc box even though it's empty. Going to try again this afternoon and remove the nuc box.
Hubby will be busy. He managed to damage the power cable to the sheds while clearing weeds and dirt in our gravel path. The outer cable is not armoured or deep enough. No power to the sheds or the spare freezer until it is fixed. Luckily he trained as an electrical engineer.
Never a dull moment at Minion Manor.o_O

Nice photos @eggyg and the weather looks good too.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Afternoon I’m Mr late on parade today, ‘twas was a Len this morning at 6am

I’m getting used to being off work, but appreciate I need to get back to work quite soon
It’s just been one of those busy kind of mornings for me, killed some weeds out the front of our bungalow (once I eventually found the spraying device) I had to stay in for a few deliveries, so in the end I never got to go to a Jobs fair (that I was thinking of attending) whilst yes it would’ve been worth attending just to be aware of who’s recruiting etc in my local area I’ve actually had 2 Job offers, and still I am employed at the moment by my current employer (I’m currently signed off by GP) although they are only paying me SSP now.

I’ve just received the new laptop, that I only ordered online late yesterday afternoon, so currently that’s hooked up to the internet and receiving essential updates before I can set it up, it’s currently only about 80% through that process and it started about half hour ago

Looking forward to seeing how much easier I’m sure it will be to be online on a laptop again, although on the phone or iPad it can be convenient

Hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday 😎

Afternoon all. It's a glorious day and has been all day so far.

14.3 much to my horror it had been at that level since yesterday afternoon. Had an appointment with the DSN at the local hospital this afternoon and she thought that if anything it could be a faulty cannula, but as I said I changed the cannula and reservoir this morning so surely 2 in a row was unusual? Anyway it's now come down to 9.8 with a downward arrow, so I have no idea what caused it and I am going to stick it out.

We got all our bedding plants/herbs/lupins and the Clematis in yesterday. The weather veered from being a bitter wind (got a coat on) to being 80+ degrees seemingly by the half hour (took the coat on and off all afternoon). It settled to being 80+ around 5pm and stayed there. Sat in the garden with a glass of wine until 7:30.

Off to the local to meet friends in about an hour and a half... home for meatballs in tomato and fennel sauce with a small portion of Tagliatelle.

Have a lovely evening all!

Afternoon all ,5 4 for me this morning.Cloudy this morning till sun burnt through the clouds . Lovely now . Garden soil is now just dust Still no rain . Sitting in Costa as I write this .Nipped into town for bank . Chemist.Lotteries . Enjoy your day people

Yes, I use DuckDuckGo for most of my general searching. I was fed up with the skewed Google results which have a bias to brands which are advertising with them. Their algorithm is c***.

Morning all. 4.9 today. According to my graph I was hypo for almost an hour between 1-2am! The alarm definitely didn’t go off, it’s so loud one of us would have woken. Very odd. Fingerpricked to check the accuracy as it’s a new sensor. Absolutely spot on.

Lovely day all round yesterday, weather was glorious. Mr Eggy packed us a picnic and we walked down to the beach. Got settled in a little rocky cove right by the waves. It was great. I had a sandy chicken sandwich and a packet of Aldi’s fake Pom Bears, I love them and to me they’re not as salty as the real ones. Mr Eggy packed himself a glass of red wine in the flask, a glass, a Kilner jar, found in @zippyjojo cupboard filled with sun-dried tomatoes and olives! Also three pieces of homemade focaccia I brought and froze. He likes the high life does that lad! We even had a paddle, there was some hardy folks swimming. Brrr!

Off to Scalpay today to see the lighthouse. Looking forward to that. Going to be hot again.

Have a great day, and don’t forget the sunscreen.

Just phone photos from our beach day.
You're on our rocks! It's hilarious how even when the beach is really quiet we all start panicking as we walk down to it that someone may be on our rocks. I'm LOVING being on holiday with you and Brian via your posts and you both look SO happy xxx

3.6 this morning another busy day in the garden only just packed up for the day were plagued with what I think is vine weed it wraps around everything and is a royal pain in the neck to keep on top of it, im still re building the rockery which is also covered in the vine weed, more of the same tomorrow.

The car park was absolutely packed and we were panicking everyone would get the best rocks. There wasn’t anyone on the rocks, we had first dibs.

It is probably bind weed or convolvulus, it is hard to get rid of as any fragment of root left behind and it sprouts up again. Better to put the bits you dig up in the bin rather than compost it.

I use this browser and find it very good for a variety of reasons like Ad and trackers, it continues to stop these even when my VPN drops out.

A very surprising 5.2 this morning when I dropped my morning basal to 21u. This broadly worked as my afternoon & evening BGs were 5.7.

We've been out for the bulk of the day in Lancaster, firstly to a meeting concerned with CBT then on for a meal - Pizza tonight so expecting quite a rise; which didn't happen either and stayed steadfastly in the 6s.

Taking the evening basal and dropping it by 1u to 9u - still high but had a day free of hypos'!

Great photos @eggyg and I'm glad you found some respite @Lisa65 , that sort of pain just is horrible.

02:44 BS 10.6. I put my basal back up yesterday & I was thinking I COULD have stuck with the same basal but, I DID reduce it & that’s that!

Another silly o’clock Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

I had a lovely time looking at the still very full Gibbous Waning moon didn’t notice but, guessing it was full yesterday, through my kitchen windows from 03:24 to 03:45 when it sunk behind the roof of the house in front of me while I was cooking & eating! <3

I had a very rare fancy of eating a High Tea meal: the meal served between Afternoon Tea & Dinner in Hotels & possibly restaurants; you get a smaller main course meal served with tea & bread & butter! It’s a rather curious meal I’ve always thought but, a lot of people around these parts eat that sort of thing around 5/6pm, officially Afternoon Tea is 3-5pm, High Tea is 5-7pm & Dinner starts at 7pm, at home eating things like shepherds pie, fish & chips etc, just normal stuff but, slightly less of it & eat everything with tea & bread & butter. They call it their Tea & they don’t eat Dinner!

Most people don’t eat Dinner as late as we did in the restaurant business & it was really a Late Night Supper right before bed! o_O

I’ve only eaten High Tea a handful of times in Hotels over the years & only ate the bread & butter with tea after the meal to fill me up & never really got into the proper spirit of it: I did just now; eating bread & butter WITH my smaller portion of haddock, mash & veg just now & gazing at the lovely, slightly orangey tinged moon getting lower in the sky! 😛

I’d say I ate High Tea even less than I ate Breakfast: at hotels when on holiday; Breakfast because you get it with the room so, might as well get up & eat it; High Tea only if I’d missed Lunch or Afternoon Tea & too hungry to wait for Dinner! Did I ever mention I LOVE Afternoon Tea? I usually skipped Lunch & had AT instead while on holiday! 😛 But, not everywhere around the world serves AT unfortunately, & I’ve never seen HT being available anywhere outside of the UK: correct me if I’m wrong; I’m rather curious about it now! I suppose much more people around the world know about The British Afternoon Tea than they do about High Tea?:D

Morning all, a Len (7.0) here. Looks like another beautiful day although as much as I hate to say it, we could do with some rain.
There's been no significant rain in Hampshire for weeks and everything is looking a bit brown.
My roses are enjoying the warmth though. Here is Desdemona yesterday.

Good morning everyone

BG 5.0
BP 109/77

Spent a bit of time yesterday tailoring some 'new' words to the hymn 'Jerusalem' and sorting out the score. A mighty powerful tune on a pipe organ! Great. I was blasted for completely rewriting the lyrics a few years back! They're quite goodlyrics too but they couldn't see past the 'it's a classic. You can't mess with it'! Sigh

Hip on Tuesday wasn't so bad. Yesterday it was a real pain. This morning it is reasonably ok again. Is that normal for osteoarthritis?

My wife continues to be happy and calm and active. My daughter continues to reject us. Sigh.

Today a mostly relaxing day. I have to go to the church to sort out some parts of their sound system this afternoon.

Another scorcher for us it seems. Great during the day, difficult at night.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Morning a 6.3 for me and a decline overnight with correction doses.
What a nice day yesterday with lovely weather and nice scenery and a gaffe from me.
Very occasionally when I go out I just forget to pack my insulin and did this yesterday. It does not cause me any major issues as I just eat less and go home early but do go higher for a short while.
I had a choice to make as to whether to just keep topping up on protein bars etc to stay in range or just have lunch and sort it out later.
I decided to have my normal lunch and then could not resist an ice cream as I passed a farm doing home made.
I then finished in Ruthin at 3pm and headed home.
Got home and immediately my wife said have some of freshly made cake so I had some as well so no willpower.
I then jabbed some insulin and just manage it.
I did spike up to 12 during the afternoon but then came down but rose again after tea so more insulin. So overall higher than normal and knocked my TIR but happy enough.
Had little trip out into countryside to locate a new dog groomers so will visit there this morning and then go to the new coffee place opened last week by our rural artisan baker which does the most amazing sourdough bread.
That really sends me high so need to go very careful but it is so tempting.
What is the old quote “ I am only temped by temptation”.
well certainly applies to me.
So WFH take dogs to groomers and a trip to tip as bin was not collected as a couple of vehicles belonging to someone renovating a house were parked on a narrow road preventing it from getting to us.
Have a great day.
