Morning all. As Hughie Green would say, “it’s Take Your Pick time.” 4.4 on the sensor which has buzzed at me all night saying I’m hypo, according to my graph I wasn’t, or 6.4 on the finger pricker downstairs, or the 6.2 the Libre is showing now! It’s my own fault, I’ve put my sensor nearer the front of my arm and I don’t think there’s enough fat there, I’ve got skinny arms, so I always struggle getting it just on the right bit, I was trying to give the fattest bit a break! It’s happened before, but I thought I’d try again. Lesson learnt.
Another lovely day yesterday, we drove to Scalpay, a teeny island linked by a road bridge to North Harris. It’s got a sweet little harbour and a very old, 1787, lighthouse, one of the oldest in Scotland. Set just over 2km from the road so a lovely walk to get to it. It also had a cafe, not sure how they get the staff ( a lady of mature years should we say, and well past pension age) and supplies there. By the time we got there my Libre alarm was screaming at me, so I had carrot cake, without bolusing. It was very sweet. I went from 3.7 to 14.9 in about an hour! Ooops! Then of course I plummeted very, very fast. Anyhoo, after the cake we had a walk around, it really is a beautiful lighthouse, Eilean Glas if you’re interested. A woman told me there was a family of sea otters so I went off to try and see them. And I did, almost straight away, I was so excited, I saw one slip into the sea, too quick for a photo, stood for another minute or so and up it popped and slid back on the rocks with a fish! I got a photo as I was ready this time. It made my day. Walked back by the coastal path, quite a tough walk, lots of ups and downs and very hot by this time, and with BGs at almost 15 it felt like wading through treacle. I was glad to get back to the car. Fantastic views though, right over to Skye. Fabulous road trip, last one of the holidays, we’re going to chill until we leave on Saturday, a walk to the beach obviously, maybe some more shells?😉
Have a great day all.
