Group 7-day waking average?

6.8 and I can breathe!

Went to the National Gallery preview of the Sainsbury Wing reopening and it’s fantastic.

They’ve had a general rehang throughout the whole gallery and what they’ve done is magnificent. Things make more sense somehow. It draws you in and takes you on a journey through Art.

Went with a friend and we’ve never done a gallery visit before together. It’s fascinating to have a conversation about how pieces resonate differently with us and both thought they’ve done a grand job.

Went to Byron’s for a bite to eat then I went off to the opera and he went to the theatre with another friend of his.

I saw Pimpinone. It’s not been staged for 300 years and is a two hander comic baroque opera. And it’s genuinely charming. 1:20hr straight through which meant I was home by 9pm!

Today’s a two show day with Sadler’s East this afternoon and Sadler’s Wells itself this evening.

6.6 here after another not very good sleep, I am really tired of this pain now and somewhat grumpy!

Yesterday I overdid things on the walking, I had to walk 1.5 mile from the railway station to the hospital and another 1.5 back again. Then of course the dog wanted a walk in the evening, I took her to the local nature reserve where there are lakes. She always wants to go to the edge of the water and paddle, but after seeing some geese swimming around she pulled so hard to get there that I lost balance on my bad leg and sprawled out on the ground in a very undignified manner. Unfortunately she can't ever be let off the lead as she has no recall and will run off after anything she likes the look of, with no thought on how or when she will come back.

Nothing else was hurt other than my pride, but all the walking yesterday (almost five miles) caused my thigh muscles to spasm terribly last night, so I needed the massage gun, tens machine and a double dose of ibuprofen to get a bit of relief. I did a few gentle stretches as well.

It looks like today is going to be sunny and warm, so my leg will be getting some heat therapy in the garden later on.

Hope you all have a good day 🙂

Morning all, 8.5 here. Skipped my evening basal again, as I’d done a decent walk and had a couple of glasses of red wine, and was in the 5s at bedtime. Held steady till aound 4am, but then started the inevitable dawn rise.

Morning all. A nice round 6 on this sort of bright but breezy day.

Our first full week in on Harris and it’s flown in! So glad we’ve another week. Yesterday we decided to drive the south of the island, known as the Golden Road, it’s not golden, apparently it cost a LOT of money at the time. Well, what can I say except……eeek! We’re driven many single track roads in the Highlands and islands but this one is on another level. Firstly I’ll say the surroundings are spectacular but the road is undulating, narrow, twisty and there’s lots of blind summits. Bearing in mind Camille’s long bonnet, which I can’t see any of even on a normal road because I’m a short a**, it was downright scary as. Mr Eggy, who is a very confident driver, said it’s the scariest he’s been on. White knuckles all round. It took us to Leverburgh where there’s a smashing community store, unfortunately because of the CoOp cyber attack it wasn’t fully stocked, I got mostly what I needed, including a box of Carrs Water Biscuits, which made me laugh as they make them in my home city! Upstairs they have a lovely area full of gorgeous gifts, most made with Harris Tweed, I purchased a makeup bag to keep my diabetes kit in, as mine is getting a bit tatty and when we’re on holiday it’s far too small for all my extra supplies. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Popped into a cafe/bar/restaurant for carrot cake and a cuppa, then made our way to Scarista beach. It was cold and blowing a hoolie, I’d made the mistake of stripping off a layer, three instead of four, and didn’t I know it! Luckily, I still had my thermal gloves in my jacket pocket. I did some more beach combing and got chatting to a local man who gave me some pointers on some of the shells. He was very knowledgeable and whilst I was picking the biggest I could find, he showed me the beautiful teeny, tiny ones. I’m hooked! Mr Eggy was just in awe of everything and has got some amazing photos. He was a very happy man, which makes me happy. Home for 4.30, chilled and had a lovely homemade Lamb Madras which I brought from home and froze when we got here. Quiet day just walking locally, as we’re starting our big walks tomorrow after a week of being very lazy, so need to preserve our strength!

@ColinUK glad you can breathe, it’s pretty essential!
@Lisa65 I can really empathise with you, I found hot/cold helped, along with painkillers, always end in cold. And rest! Let someone else take the dog out. Big hugs.

Have a super Saturday. Not many photos today. Scarista beach, a lot choppier than Luskentyre, a ringed plover on the beach, Bonnie the dog, it was her dad I was talking to. And a calf crèche, so cute.

Morning all. 9.1. Like @Robin i stayed in the 5s until around 3am when it rose and stayed in the 10s. Yesterdsy's walk with my friend was lovely but my heel was so painful after and last night. Icing it helped but the physio said it could take 12-18 months to heal. I really hope not as its stopping me doing the long walking i enjoy.

Nothing planned for today apart from getting the washing on the line, cleaning the bathroom and dusting so i plan to sit in the sunshine and rest my foot.

Have a good day whatever you do.

A 5.6 this lovely bright morning. 🙂

Morning, 5.5 for me today.
It's my daughter's first sleepover this evening! She is very excited. I've told hubby we should go out somewhere but we can't think of where to go  clearly it's been a long time since we've had any quality time together!!

Morning a Len today for me

I think I only slept for about 3 hours HOWEVER I woke up feeling really good following the chat I had with GP yesterday, and having made the decision to resolve the problems I’ve had for almost the last 2 years the way I shall
in some ways it will be a shame (having been in this position for almost 7 years with the same company) although these days they are effectively a different company.

as I pist this breakfast in the garden, then off to football training shortly, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are to, because it certainly is lovers here today
think I might go and slap on some sunblock on my pale pasty pigeon legs

have a Sensational Saturday 😎

Good morning folks. 8.4 today. Very hot yesterday. Frantically working on boundary area close to where the beehives will live. Tai Chi class was lovely yesterday. New forms (routines) to learn and felt so centred and relaxed by the end.
Spent the evening on the phone talking bees. I am picking up a new colony from a friend on Monday evening. Also need to build my new hive as another friend is looking after a swarm for me until I am ready to collect them. So in March no bees. In May 2 new colonies.<3. The weather conditions are great to get them established.

Lovely photos @eggyg. So jealous that you have another week to look forward too.

Sending hugs to @gail2 and @Lisa65 and hoping you get some pain relief and rest.
Have a lovely weekend and don't forget the sunscreen. I will be hot and sweaty in my beesuit this afternoon at the apiary. Hopefully the bees won't be grumpy as the sun is shining all day.

Morning

4.3 after a very long lie in. Only plans are for knit and natter later. We have 3 viewings on FIL house today, which estate agent do for us.

@ColinUK - pleased to hear you can breathe again.

@Lisa65 and @gail2 - sending hugs, hope you both get some relief soon.

@eggyg - beautiful photos again.

@goodybags - hope making the decision brings you some relief.

Congratulations on yesterday’s HS @Martin.A and @Colin g

6.5 this morning, but alarm and notification at 3am that I was 3.4 and going lower. Took a sachet of High Five glucose and went back to sleep. Makes me think that treating diabetes based just on the averages of blood sugar and time in range and even HbA1c should not be the only factor in treatment. Too often it is. How to manage our diabetes and what tech should be employed to treat it is increasing important, at least in my case.

Beautiful day …

Nick

Pleased to see 5.6 on the meter this morning as I woke at 4am feeling achy and shivery and thought I might be going down with something. Got up at 7am and plonked myself in front of the fan heater in the lounge (it looks like a wood burner, complete with flame effect, and sits in our ersatz fireplace) until I'd warmed up. Lemsip'd, dressed and breakfasted and feel fine now. Glad to hear you're feeling better, too @ColinUK .

@Lisa65 - we don't have a dog anymore but when we did I was walking it on the lead in the woods behind us one day and it saw something and took off, and like you I ended up on the floor, although in my case with a broken ring finger (fortunately my right hand, as I wear a wedding ring).

Wife's off to meet a friend for coffee shortly and tonight she and some friends are going to see Bat Out Of Hell over in Woking. Our eldest is planning a day on the golf course but not sure about our youngest. Could be just him and me at home for most of the day.

Nice and warm and sunny here. Hope everyone's getting the same and enjoys their Saturday.

She's had me over a couple of times, little mare, and one time she managed to break her lead and was awol for over an hour on the common.

7.6 today on this gorgeous and warm morning. According to the MET Office the breeze has absolutely no idea to be blowing from, so hopefully it'll be good in the shade too. It's calmed down atm. Planning on going to see the podiatrist today and have the lady look at my tootsies.

Great pictures @eggyg. Yes, holidays seem to be over in a trice as we get older so I'm glad you have another week to enjoy. :D

Alway good to breathe @ColinUK , just keep doing it!

Blessing to @Lisa65 and @gail2 Hope you both get some respite soon, and get a good night's sleep.

Morning all. A happy 4.5 for me on this beautiful morning....

Evening an Update
GP has today following a long phone conversation signed me off for a further fortnight, we also spoke at length about a few other very important things that I needed answers to (it’s not just work that’s stressed me recently)
it was re assuring to hear that from my last 2 blood tests my liver is no longer a concern so I needn’t worry about that anymore
I also got a blood test done yesterday for something non diabetic related yesterday which will reduce my anxiety & stress levels

Following speaking to specsavers / DVLA on the phone this afternoon,
I now have until 8th of June before I must have had the DVLA eye check at specsavers having received a rather stern reminder letter today 🙄
so specsavers appointment now is booked for the 6th June (that’s 4 days after my next course of treatment at DMO clinic) which will be on the 2nd, where I’m due to receive injection/s of Eylea at the recently approved much higher dose - I think the newly approved higher dose is 8mg once every 6months whereas when they treated me before with Eylea it was 2 mg in 6 weeks intervals (I think)

Ive also decided I’m going to give the mask another go so will contact them
as @Pam123 following you sharing the results, it looks like it’s helped you, maybe the main problem for me after all, before when I tried it was as I wasn’t sleeping properly anyway, I think that’s why subconsciously I was removing it therefore just never gave it a proper chance.

Congratulations to any HS’ers I’ve recently missed, I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of others posts on here recently, I definitely need to get a bigger iPad (or a computer)

work situation will soon change, need to talk to my employer regarding that, before I say anything else in public 😉

Off for a early night now … If I don’t post tomorrow morning, I might be rushing around, well not really rushing 🙄 really looking forward to the Walking Football / MH support project tomorrow (will be in shorts this week) and have recently written something for the community trust that runs the program, for them to share social media etc … to try and raise awareness and attract more attendees who might themselves also benefit
I hope giving the mask another try will work for you, I am into my 4th Month now and can still see little changes even 2 weeks after my visit to the Opticians, yesterday we went outdoor the day, I only had the prescription sun glasses in the car which are 4 years old, I didn't expect to see much with them as I tried using them when my problem started with the DMO, I was shocked to be able to see really well out of them.
