Group 7-day waking average?

Morning All - 7.1 again for me today. Spent a lot of time gardening yesterday. The morning at Askham Hall where I volunteer and then the afternoon in my own garden doing some mowing that the robo mower doesn't get too. I interspersed this with washing Elsa's feet as she keeps going in the blooming pond which is so low it's basically mud and she has a fettish for iris & bullrush tubers. I bought a dog bath the other day but she won't entertain getting in it so in the end a gentle hose did the trick with lots of reassuring. Being such a big dog I need to really make sure that I don't worry her with all these grooming things because I need to be able to do it regularly. I'm getting there. I've spotted a professional grooming table on FB Marketplace so might be going on a day trip to Richmond tomorrow to get it if it seems right. This afternoon I'm taking my Mum on a bluebell drive over to Buttermerre where I hear they're very good. Have a lovely day everyone.

Hello @zippyjojo,
It’s good to know you have a lot of activities planned ahead and you are trying to get your levels optimised. Weldone and have a great day.

5.9 for me today.

Things I am currently frustrated by:
- Medtronic not wanting to send out pump supplies even though I am on my second to last cannula :(
- Being paid minimum wage to be a glorified babysitter even though I've worked hard to gain the skills and experience needed to be a school librarian, and wishing I could do more 'library' tasks rather than sitting in a room watching off-timetable students all day
- Having to stay until 5pm every day to run after school club when most other staff clock off at 4pm (yes I know the teachers work from home)
- Not being able to find an NHS dentist with space to take me!

Gahhhh. I am lucky really and I do count my blessings, but I am struggling with work-life balance and having to scrimp and save to get through to pay day every month. Issues with pump supplies are just another hassle I don't need :(

Sorry for the vent!

I hope everyone is having a good day and hope it's as sunny by you as it is here!

5.6 on another bright and sunny, but cool, morning. Plumber's here to fit our new radiator, so I'll just read the newspapers and hope he's finished in time for me to go for my usual Thursday swim. I won't book it yet, just in case.

My wife enjoyed her 'football mums' get together yesterday evening and she said it was good to catch up and share what their children are doing, now that they're all grown up and in their 20s. It seems our 2 are the only ones still living at home, not that we mind.

Congrats to @eggyg and @MeeTooTeeTo on today's HSs

Have a good VE day. Unfortunately we have no family members left who lived through those days to tell us what it was like.

Morning

5.1 today, only plans are yoga later. I usually wander round to my mum on a Thursday afternoon, but a local cafe has arranged a VE Day lunch for the residents of the retirement complex she lives in, so I will go tomorrow instead.

Congratulations to @eggyg and @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS today.

7.6 this morning which is a little high. Mind you, it was Ali’s (my wife) birthday yesterday and we went out for a Thai meal at lunchtime with friends. I never can predict how sweet Thai food is - they seem to use sugar in everything! Took colossal amounts of extra insulin and still had to resort to more later in the day.

Nick

Morning folks. It's dull and cloudy this morning. Looking forward to the sunshine returning. 6.8 first thing. Feeling better today although nose and eyes are streaming. Seems the old immune system is kicking in to fight off the lurgy.

Lovely photos, @eggyg and congratulations on your HS, also @MeeTooTeeTo .

Nothing much planned today. Have a good day everyone.

7.2

Still full of cold (now with added green mucus)!

Didn’t stop me doing a two sore day yesterday. Saw Giant, the play with John Lithgow as Roald Dahl, in the afternoon and then hot footed it to Sadler’s East for KABEL, a dance piece based on Cain and Abel.

Giant has won Olivier awards and is one of the best, and most uncomfortable, things I’ve seen on stage in a long time. KABEL is a dance piece based on Cain and Abel.
Two SHOW day obviously

Morning everyone. A Happy 5.3 for me today, and the skies are grey and it's chilly again.

Have a good day folks and stay well.

8.6 for me. Woke up quite late today at just before 9am.

I had to change todays care for myself, because of an occurrence that took place yesterday. So no care for me today, maybe tomorrow though.

We're watching and listening to the service for VE Day. We had to go right back to my great grandparents who were active in the first and second world wars. My wife only had to go back to her grandfather who was a PoW in Burma, so no rejoicing for him until August.

Great pics, @eggyg and congratulations on todays HS, you're making quite regular occurrence of them.

Also congratulations @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS!

Good afternoon, 6.9 for me, finally got a decent sleep so feeling a bit more human.
I went to the chemist to pick up the tresiba, but apparently they can't get the disposable pens. So it was a quick email to the GP practice nurse to ask if she could change my prescription to penfill cartridges and a reusable pen. I wasn't optimistic that she would get my message until next week, because she only works part time.
But within the hour she called me and said she had sorted it, and also changed my libre 2 prescription to 2 plus.
I am very lucky to have her as a practice nurse, I hope she never leaves!
Still hobbling around today, but in general the pain seems a tiny bit better. A combination of ibuprofen and putting the TENS machine on the most painful area seems to take the edge off.

Congratulations to @eggyg and @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS 🙂

Afternoon everyone, 4.7 this morning for me.

Not had chance to catch up on posts yet, hope everyone is ok.

Had a very hectic time of it since getting back from Ireland. Dad was taken into hospital with a kidney infection but now back at the care home. However Mum is really bad with her dementia and convinced she was tricked into going to the care home. We have managed to talk her round a bit by ignoring/agreeing anything she says that is wrong but instead emphasising the positives of the place and care they are both now getting. Dementia is truly a horrible thing.

Take care everyone.

My optician quoted £330 to reglaze my current specs with new lenses. With new frames it’s £470.
I’ve searched online and the cheapest alternative I’ve found is a whopping £10 less. So they can charge that price because that’s simply how much the lenses cost.
I had a new prescription in January with a new frame and the cost was £100, they were no good because of my eye issues which are now improving and they reglazed them for free.

Colin, Pam: Have you tried https://specscart.co.uk/? When my glasses from a local optician got too expensive I looked around. I have varifocal lenses with all the trimmings. Excellent service. It’s worth getting an estimate from them. They send you free of charge four frames of your choice which have glass in them. Freepost. You can change your choice if you want. You take a selfi of yourself wearing the frames of your choice so they can work out the correct position. You send them a copy of your prescription. The completed glasses take about a week or ten days.

Worth a try?

Good morning 6.6 here after another night of dreadful pain in my leg. It seems to be moving down gradually and is now worst just around my knee. I'm hoping it might get down to my foot and fall off the end!
Off to get the train soon to go to Portsmouth for the carb counting course.
Hope everyone has a good day.
