Group 7-day waking average?

Hi Homer,
Your mention of Peebles brought back memories of playing rugby with the Borders Schools like Galashiels, Melrose and Peebles.
I thought it must have grown since it is now a “City” but in my last visit about 7 years ago it looked the same.
We had a Sales Meeting staying at a very nice hotel and had an Indian Meal in the evening and did a 10 Mile hike and as you say the Hills are magic.
Hope you and your wife are well
Peebles is still the same, a small town but a great visit, the memories we have there won’t be forgotten . My wife had two back operations , I’m afraid the second one made it worse but she does have her good days and we are happy going on these visits to places not too far away from home.

Yep Homer,
No one can ever take your memories away and good that despite her difficulties you can still enjoy revisiting these places and have new memories as well as share old ones.
Take care

5.5 this morning the suns gone in but its still warm just collected my new glasses and there great its been 4 years since ive had a new prescription.
My eye test last week revealed I needed a new prescription for one eye only so thought I could just have 1 new lens but Oh NO because they were reaction lenses couldn't just do one. So even with using my own frames they were still over £500. Ouch.

Morning a 6.6 for me and a little lie in.
Such a nice day yesterday with lunch at the Sea Shanty gazing across the Irish Sea and an ice cream to enjoy walking along the prom on a warm day.
It was a lot of driving and I do sleep well afterwards but not back too late.
Mind you did move some top soil from bottom of garden into one of the raised beds and a bit of light gardening so that all helped.
Only needed some cereals with fruit for tea which I know may sound odd but I sometimes have it if I am full from lunch as I do find I don’t spike at night.
Back at seaside today up at Southport so again another nice trip and a bit less mileage.
Enjoy

how can they justify charging so much
My optician quoted £330 to reglaze my current specs with new lenses. With new frames it’s £470.
I’ve searched online and the cheapest alternative I’ve found is a whopping £10 less. So they can charge that price because that’s simply how much the lenses cost.

7.2

Still full of cold (now with added green mucus)!

Didn’t stop me doing a two sore day yesterday. Saw Giant, the play with John Lithgow as Roald Dahl, in the afternoon and then hot footed it to Sadler’s East for KABEL, a dance piece based on Cain and Abel.

Giant has won Olivier awards and is one of the best, and most uncomfortable, things I’ve seen on stage in a long time. KABEL is a dance piece based on Cain and Abel.

Morning all. 8.6. Not planning to do much today. Foot is still sore from Tuesday's physio poking and prodding and the new exercises given and started yesterday.

Morning all, 5.5 here. Spent yesterday afternoon walking round the cross country course near the yard while daughter jumped the obstacles on the pony. It was her birthday yesterday, and since the company she works for was taken over by a Spanish firm, they all get an extra days holiday, to be taken on their birthday. Is this a Spanish custom? She's lucky, her birthday is at a time of year when the weather is likely to be decent, I feel sorry for the people with winter birthdays,

Good morning from Bath! 8'8 today, similar number yesterday.

I am enjoying this trip but not sleeping that well. Might be getting a bit old for backpacker hostels, or just to be comfortable in a bed different than mine!

Yesterday we went for afternoon tea for free, thanks to a voucher I got from my workplace that I could redeem in different hotels of a company, and one of these is located here in Bath. The walk there was too long for my poor friend, who has mobility issues, but she said it was worth it after we ate. The weather was good enough to sit in the terrace, the view was beautiful and the afternoon tea was stunning. It even included cheese scones, my favourite type! :starstruck: And since we didn't have to pay for lunch, we treated ourselves to a taxi on the way back lol.

After that we visited the Roman Baths, one of the highlights of our travel plan. Today we have another one, the Jane Austen museum. We are both really looking forward to it. I did my homework and watched 'Pride and prejudice' and 'Sense and sensibility' in the days prior to traveling! Other than that we don't have specific plans, just more walking around and some shopping.

Morning folks. 🙂 4.6 here.

Not sure what I’m meant to do - the O5 had me trending too low for comfort all day yesterday and well into the night. The low alarm has become the soundtrack to my life! I gave up being conservative (as the DSN insisted) with the JBs / oj at 1am because the alarms were keeping the whole street awake LOL. I’m knackered and my teeth are furry from all the sugar. This piece of technology is utter sh**e...IMHO 😉.

On a lighter note, I’ll be at my mum’s on Friday and we’ve been invited to a VE Day supper at her friend’s house Fri night. My mum's the youngest member of her gang at 88, her mates are all in their 90s but all live by the motto: “You just have to keep going!” And they do! Not sure what to expect, but mum’s excited, so count me in.

Sorry didt post yesterday, had a bit of a blip day Mh wise
yesterday 7.3

you all have a good day, a happy safe day
Am going to treat myself to some flowers today from Lidls when i go out on Indie, better than a bar of chocolate or any other snacks lol. I just feel like a treat today need to be kind to self more often and wot better than flowers
Take care all lots of love to everyone of you especially anyone who's struggling or on their own
xxxx

Wandering back after a few days absence post-birthday (or just because I carried the celebrations well into the week after!)

6.4 on fingerprick (new CGM said 8.8!). Good job it's the fingerprick I'm supposed to go with.

Decided to have another month with a self-funded CGM, just to try and help keep me on track - as I feel like I'm wandering away from the track a bit at the moment - not so far I can't see the track but still!! Have just calibrated with my fingerprint so, hopefully, that initial settling-in that's gone on overnight will now stabilise.

It's exceptionally busy at work. Lots and lots of very beautiful new babies! So, I'm going to enjoy my day off today as I suspect I'll be hitting the ground running tomorrow when I get back.

Good morning all. Another 5.2.it must be this Hebridean sea air.

We had a long day yesterday, set off about 10am and got back after 8pm. The weather was dreich.Firstly popped into Tarbert to visit the shop, initially went for some steak but they didn’t have any bought beef mince ( not instead of the steak) and some white Stornaway pudding, Mr Eggy also bought himself a slice of fruit pudding. Like black pudding but white and has fruit in! 🙄 Then off to Stornaway for a mooch, some lunch, and a visit to Tesco, a butchers and a fishmongers. Had an amazing lunch in a lovely bistro, Mr Eggy had the biggest langoustines I’ve ever seen. I had fillet of salmon, pan fried, new potatoes, asparagus ( my favourite veg), white wine and dill creamy sauce with parsley oil. Didn’t have any insulin as I’d gone down to 3.7! I felt fine. Delicious. Got some scallops and cod in the fishmongers, steak, a very large chicken, eggs and black pudding in the butchers. Then to Tesco for some basics. Weather still dreich. Drove to Port of Ness and the Butt of Lewis, both at the end of the world. The weather was glorious. It was busy at the Butt, lots of bikers, motor not cycles we stayed for quite a while as I spotted what I thought were cormorants nesting in the cliffs. Four of them, but on looking at my photos this morning they were actually shags, the females had a crest and were more greenish than black. I’ve seen shags many, many times but never seen them nesting. It was getting onto 6pm by now and we still had the Callanish Stones to visit. We ended up sharing the quiche we’d bought for tea in the car! Saw the stones, took photos and home. Mr Eggy went down the the beach with his camera and didn’t get back until after 10. The colours were amazing, apparently, I watched Race Across the World on IPlayer.

Quiet day today, weather looking good, sun is shining anyways, no idea about the temperature as I’m still in my jimjams where I intend to stay for a while!

Have a fab day.

Morning All - 7.1 again for me today. Spent a lot of time gardening yesterday. The morning at Askham Hall where I volunteer and then the afternoon in my own garden doing some mowing that the robo mower doesn't get too. I interspersed this with washing Elsa's feet as she keeps going in the blooming pond which is so low it's basically mud and she has a fettish for iris & bullrush tubers. I bought a dog bath the other day but she won't entertain getting in it so in the end a gentle hose did the trick with lots of reassuring. Being such a big dog I need to really make sure that I don't worry her with all these grooming things because I need to be able to do it regularly. I'm getting there. I've spotted a professional grooming table on FB Marketplace so might be going on a day trip to Richmond tomorrow to get it if it seems right. This afternoon I'm taking my Mum on a bluebell drive over to Buttermerre where I hear they're very good. Have a lovely day everyone.
