Group 7-day waking average?

GM
7.2 this morning, but I have only had a couple of hours sleep because of the sciatica pain, which seems to be worst at night. Maybe because when I'm lying in bed there is nothing to distract me from it?
Yesterday I had the TENS machine on my leg and it seemed to help, I was able to walk the dog for a couple of miles. She got back into her naughty lead pulling habits while I was in Turkey and daddy was walking her, now I'm back no such nonsense is tolerated, so she needed a training recap  According to Larry all she did was constantly pull on the lead and roll on every patch of grass she could find, she obviously realised he was a soft touch as I've spent an entire year teaching the stubborn little mare to walk nicely! With the aid of liver paste she soon remembered her manners and we had a lovely stroll.

Congratulations @Pam123 on yesterday's HS.

When Larry gets up around 7.30 I shall go back to bed and try to get a bit more kip. Meanwhile I'm snuggled up on the sofa with the dog, drinking coffee and watching Call the Midwife on BBC iplayer.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning a 5.5 for me and a flatfish in 5s all night.Walked the dogs and having cup of tea.
Did all the things I wanted yesterday and did bit of gardening and also getting all paperwork together for solicitor except missed out on a long walk.
No lunch out but will make up for it with a trip to celebrate our anniversary at local Indian.
They have a ‘Tapas” type deal which we upgrade to the Maharaja which consists of about 7/8 very small choices if we go early which suits us both.
Routine work day today and taking all stuff to solicitor with identification to start ball rolling and then walk into town for our meal out.
Is a nice 10 minute walk and is pleasant as town is historical and we can always call in at Waitrose to pick up a couple of things on way back.
Enjoy your week whatever you are up to.

Len special this morning and full of cold so I’m assuming the two factors are related.

Morning all. 7.5 for me. Woke to find the foxes have been playing in the garden last night. Plant pots stored by the shed are halfway up the garden, soil left over in said pots scattered around and the blooming thing has dug a massive hole almost to the bottom of a large ceramic pot which contains my new rose. Beautiful looking animals but pesky things i don't want in the garden. I've tried spraying a mix of garlic and chilli and sprinkling chilli powder around but its obviously not working.

Today i have to go back to physio. Hopefully he'll suggest something this time that will help my foot. Last time he gave me exercises for my legs and bum, not sure how that helps. Then its home to put soil back into my rose pot.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, 7.9 here. Skipped basal altogether last night, as I was in the 4s at bedtime having done a long walk yesterday afternoon. Which was probably the right decision as I crawled along the bottom until 4am, but then the dawn rise kicked in.
Did my weekly shop at the main co-op in the next town as usual yesterday morning. They’ve been affected by their cyber attack, and there was hardly any fruit and veg. I’m used to them having late deliveries if the chilled stuff, like salad items or berries etc, but there were no apples and oranges, no carrots, cabbage, broccoli, etc. Strangely, they had bananas. I was too busy to have time to drive to another supermarket, so we ate up last week’s fridge bits in a risotto last night. and I shall have to foray out somewhere else today.

Morning Freesia,
We don’t have foxes in our garden and my wife loves the wildlife especially the birds and watching the young squirrels playing.
However she is not happy with them eating the new frons off her Tree Ferns and some of the birds throwing out the soil from the plant pots messing up our patio.
Good luck with you tidying up your garden.

Morning 5.5 today

I’ve been having a few thoughts regarding getting BTW, need to put a plan in place / speak to my employer (currently I’m signed off until later this week)

Congratulations to the trio of HS er’s yesterday @Martin.A , @ColinUK & @Pam123 I’ve seen a few HS’s myself recently (at evening meal time) but been ages since I’ve seen one in the morning for me, I resumed a very small amount of insulin in the evening (just 3 units) currently taking 4 units in the mornings, but will reduce that morning dosage to 3 starting at breakfast time today

Last week I received a letter from DVLA medical renewals, unsurprisingly they require this year their test be completed (by Specsavers) I did suspect this would be the case when the questions were asked on the on-line renewal (regarding my on-going treatment for Diabetic retinopathy as on both eyes) Ive only had one injection to my left eye this year, but the question was asked on the online renewal, so I decided best to answer honestly, TBH it’s a concern to me, what if my eyes are not up to the required standard that kind of causes added anxiety, the ophthalmologist I’m under at NGH always says, she’s pretty sure I worry unnecessarily, anyway will book the test with Specsavers and see.

Have a Terrific Tuesday everyone

Morning folks. 🙂 7.9 for me.

Sunny but with a nip in the air this morning. I wonder what the tarmac team will be doing today along our road. I only need the car this evening for work, but I think I’ll park it off the estate just in case. Got most of the lesson planning done yesterday, just one more to do. Roll on the weekend LOL.

Morning all. 7.1 and a unicorn, haven’t had one of those for a while.
Had a couple of lows during our long walk yesterday, 8.5 miles, managed to stop them turning into hypos, nibbled on a bit of Kendal Mint Cake, then had a packet of Cheddars, then more mint cake. Eventually got them up to 5! Got back to cottage and I was 4.1! I did not want anymore mint cake, it leaves a horrible sweet yucky taste in your mouth, so we heated the ragu up and popped some pasta on to boil and had an early tea. And all was well.

Very sunny yesterday but not warm, wore my sunglasses all day, guess what? Panda eyes this morning! Luckily, it’s cloudy today, must add suncream to my shopping list for when we go to Stornaway Tesco tomorrow! I wanted to go to the Community shop in Leverburgh but they’ve been affected by the Coop cyber attack too. Fingers crossed it gets sorted very soon. These shops are a lifeline for the islanders.

@Lisa65 sorry to hear about your bad back, there’s nothing worse, funnily enough when we had a dog he pulled on the lead and I always said that was the start of my sciatica journey. Hope you get some sleep.

Here’s some photos from yesterday’s walk. We walked to the other side of the estuary, the tide was low and we walked onto the sands, it was like a desert.

Have a great day folks.

We live in a busy urban area but the foxes are bold as brass. They trot around in the daylight, not afraid of anyone. Talking to a neighbour the other day, they found one on their patio seating but when they went to chase it off, it refused to move, just lay there looking at them. They said they have a fox scarer (?) in their garden because they have dogs but it obviously wasn't bothered. I don't know what else to try to deter them.

A round 6 for me today. Another sunny day is promised. 🙂

Morning all - up early on this beautiful day! For once there seems like very little breeze. Yesterday the wind was biting. Hubby spent the day trying to mend our water feature (an imitation large Greek urn), the motor had got full of gunge, but it wasn't that, it was something to do with the electrics. I was glad to stay indoors and finished off the ironing which was beginning to look threatening!

6.5 this morning. I have solved the mystery of the horrific afternoon rises. I've been using the 3 bars on the top right of CamAPS to "Add meal" instead of the knife and fork at the top of the home page, which has meant that although my carbs have been registered, no insulin has been administered. I feel a right fool now!!! In my defence I was told by the DSN that I couldn't use the phone for calls so I had assumed that it was a crippled phone, like the Omnipod PDM, but in fact it is a proper phone and the rep told me I could use it as such. It's very different to the Motorolas I've had for years. So I've had to learn that as well as 2 lots of software and another device (the pump).

Hopefully I will get a walk in today! Not sure what else I shall do.

Interesting all the wildlife members here get in their gardens. We once had signs of a hedgehog, but did not see it. For a couple of days we had a baby rabbit... and twice rats...

Sending hugs and sympathies to @Lisa65. Hope you can get some relief from the sciatica soon. Hope @freesia 's foot heals quickly too.

@eggyg as always amazing photos!

Have a lovely day all

Morning

4.4 today and finally going shopping this morning, just as well as the fridge is empty. Then round to see mum later.

We also have a family of foxes that come into our garden, but again the destruction they cause, they ruined our neighbours veg patch last year and taught her little Yorkshire terrier, the older one which I am assuming is mum, comes and looks in through our patio doors, I worry that when the door is open it will come in. Again we live on a very large housing estate, not far from the Dartford crossing, but it was some sort of quarries before they built houses, and some areas have been turned into dedicated nature reserves.

We are on the edge of a town and countryside is only 300 yards away but we rarely see foxes even though we are up early though sure they are about as we have lots of hunts not too far away.
We like leaving our patio door open in summer so dogs can have access to garden but would hate thought of a fox wandering into the house.

Good morning folks. A 7.3 today. Think I am going down with something. Headache and scratchy throat. Also slept in till 8.30 which is not like me. Hubby saw to cat and chickens.
Giving keep fit a miss this morning and will probably potter in the garden today. Plenty of potting on and watering/ feeding to do.

Congrats on your HS yesterday, @Pam123
Lovely scenic views @eggyg . It could almost be the Caribbean if the weather was a lot warmer.
Sending hugs to everyone not feeling 100% for whatever reason.:care:

Not sure what else to suggest to deter the foxes @freesia. We haven't seen any for a while. Did see a rabbit yesterday nibbling our broad beans. The cat caught it and dragged it into the kitchen to munch on the choicest bits.😱 No wonder she didn't eat much dinner yesterday evening.
Have a good day and take care.

5.5 on a bright and occasionally sunny Berkshire morning, but also rather cool. Cool stepped over the border into cold yesterday, with a couple of showers thrown in for good measure, so we changed our minds about wandering into town for the May Fayre. Looking at the photos online it seems we weren't the only ones put off by the weather.

Plumber's back sometime today to fit a new radiator in our hallway. Glad to see the back of the old one, which at nigh on 40 years old was looking a little dated. Don't know when he's coming but I hope it's not when I usually go for my swim.

Popped into a carpet place yesterday to see about a new carpet for the stairs and landing (our hallway is wood laminate) now that we've finished decorating. Picked out 3 possible colours, so just waiting for samples to come through the post. They said it would take 2-3 days.

We've also had some wild animals in our back garden over the years but no foxes - there's no way in for something that big, although we have seen them in the street at night. Did find 2 hedgehogs in our sunken patio one morning. They couldn't get back out so I had to put on my thick gardening gloves, pop them in a box and release them in the woods behind us. Also found a mole one day but have no idea where it could have come from. My wife thinks a red kite dropped it. Really? Anyway, gardening gloves on again and another release into the woods. We regularly see deer out front.

Congrats @ColinUK and @Pam123 on yesterday's HSs.

Whatever your plans, have a great day.

I can't leave our door open either, which is a shame as when the sun gets on the room in summer, its so hot. A couple of years ago we sat in the garden having eaten a BBQ. The mother and her cub jumped over the fence and played at the top of the garden, taking time to groom as well, before jumping back out. They didn't attempt to come closer for food but they were fearless.

Good morning, 5.4 for me today.

It's our Y11 leavers day today. Good job they decided to loudly talk about the pranks they were going to play in front of me last Friday, so I was prepared
I watched their leavers' assembly this morning, it was very sweet. They are a good bunch really, despite their plan to remove tables and chairs from classrooms and block the corridors with them! (I've had much worse at other schools though).

Off to an antenatal appointment now. Have a good day everyone!
