Group 7-day waking average?

00:41 BS 10.3 Had hoped for lower but, it could have been worse!

An extremely early Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Had a struggle yesterday keeping my BS from not going too high as I hit the 19’s at the highest & at 11.0 bang on the nose at the lowest just before bedtime! My right ear started off a bit sore & BS was a bit higher after breakfast then, got more sore as the day wore on despite me hoping it’s not yet another ear infection but, had to admit it WAS by the evening around 7pm when I wet to bed not long after opening the new bottle of Otomize I only ordered at the end of Feb. 28th. So, I had a free month & now have another ear infection! Hopefully only in the right ear this time but, the two ears usually go together as ENT canal joins the ears, nose & throat together! So, ordered another bottle of Otomize as I always do when I start using a bottle so, one is always to hand for the next ear infection. I can’t remember when I last had cold, it must be at least 5 years now, & I keep getting ear infections instead!

I kept putting the max you can dial up in one dose of 60 NR for my meals yesterday but, my graph just seemed to be stuck in 14-16mmol range for most of the day until the evening when it started to come down a bit maybe because of the antibiotic ear spray? Spent a few fractious hours in a light sleep aware of the pain in my ear & up now with another spray & some breakfast. Another full 60 NR dose & see what my BS does: I’m reluctant to put in more than 60 as I’m wary of my high insulin tolerance that landed me in hospital; but, I’m also, reluctant to increase my basal as it takes SO long with tresiba changes to come through & learnt the hard way that I always get caught out once I start spraying & my ear/s get better?

I’ve also, noticed that the infections are after I’ve been out of the house on medical appointments as well: after last hospital review with the last infection & now after physio & asthma review; maybe I’m too protected at home & once I venture outside I get hit by a bug! There’s been a certain school of thought that’s been around for quite some time now that allergies & autoimmune conditions like asthma being on the rise in young children is due to parents bringing them up in over sterile environments; not that my home is particularly sterile?🙄o_O
Oh you poor thing! Ear infections are awful. I hope you have caught it early enough.
Is that what caused your BS to rise so much?
Yes I have heard about the sterile environment theory. My mum always encouraged us to play outside and we got very dirty. She was also fond of liberal applications of TCP and hot soapy water too.

A teeny bit better today as I’m 1mmol lower at my highest & lowest so, the max dose 60NR & the ear spray is making a tiny difference: that’s good enough for me; as long as I see some improvement! 🙂

That’s after breakfast & I’m about to cook as carb free meal as I can of shrimp, aka king prawn, & broccoli in a garlic soy sauce on its own with a whole head of broccoli so, will fill me up without any rice: cauliflower rice would be carb free too but, I don’t like the bitter after taste of it; I’m trying to eat as little carbs as I can so, the 60 NR will go further in keeping my BS under control until my ear gets better! 🙄

5.9 for todays reading on this bright and warm morning, with the sunshine streaming in - puts pay to the CH.

We got out yesterday, but today we'll be largely staying put, with maybe a little walk, on my own, later on. Eating sausage rolls and hot cross buns of my OHs whim.

BGs are largely behaving today with only a small spike after brekkas, rising to 7.4 within the, prescribed two hours.

For some reason I'm panicking today even though everything is progressing smoothly. It's as if I know it going ****-eyed at some point, probably thinking about the future which always throws me off kilter. Funny day.

I KNEW it! It’s happened so many times: the ear spray is definitely taking effect & my BS is going down a bit too much as I put in just a bit too much NR earlier & heading off a coming hypo at the 2 hours after eating lunch mark & BS 5.9; been monitoring for the last hour & decided I’ll have tea & biscuits when BS reaches the 5’s so, I’ll have time to make the tea! I put in 48NR earlier because cooking actually took me from the 10’s to the 7’s & I knew 60NR wasn’t needed anymore! Apart from that, I’m feeling a lot better now my BS has come down: I was quite fractious yesterday & had the attention span of a gnat; flitting from watching this & that as I got bored & was feeling listless!

Right, stop typing & get tea making & I’ll go to bed afterwards as I didn’t sleep very well or very long last night!

Enjoy! We went yesterday, it was great. I'd love to see the live show now.

@Grannylorraine congrats on the HS. Hope you're feeling a bit better.
I believe Six is live at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness in August. I don't know how far away that is from you.. Meanwhile we are looking forward to the screening of the live show.

Its about a 3 hour drive there. I've looked at all the venues within 1.5 hours from us, everywhere is a sell out. I started looking as soon as i heard it was touring again but i obviously wasn't quick enough. At least the screening was great. Hope you enjoy it!

I calmed down somewhat as the day wore on mainly due to picking up my guitar. I played through Sol Inviticus's Kneel to the Cross a couple of times fairly smoothly, the first time solo without my guitar teacher being there. My confidence is slowly building.

I had a bit of a walk. Tried fixing the bench but the wood was very hard, so much so that it couldn't take a screw without a drilled-guide hole, even then it didn't take readily.
Sat in the garden after rearranging the chairs around the table, drinking some juice, arguing with my BGs for a goodly time.

It's been a cracking day with the wind holding off for the bulk. Currently got some Blood Ceremony playing in the background... going to have to learn some of their tracks in the future.

Late on parade today, it was a 5.0 this morning for me.

Had a lovely day today, ending our 3 day family long weekend, out for lunch with my wife’s niece and her fiancé. We have agreed a date with her for our next cruise - 7 nights in June in the Eastern Caribbean - including St Maarten and St Thomas. Looking forward to it! They are talking about finishing their jobs on the ships in another 18 months, so we’re taking advantage whilst we can!

Congratulations @Grannylorraine on your HS - and get well soon!

Take care everyone!
