Oh you poor thing! Ear infections are awful. I hope you have caught it early enough.00:41 BS 10.3 Had hoped for lower but, it could have been worse!
An extremely early Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉
Had a struggle yesterday keeping my BS from not going too high as I hit the 19’s at the highest & at 11.0 bang on the nose at the lowest just before bedtime! My right ear started off a bit sore & BS was a bit higher after breakfast then, got more sore as the day wore on despite me hoping it’s not yet another ear infection but, had to admit it WAS by the evening around 7pm when I wet to bed not long after opening the new bottle of Otomize I only ordered at the end of Feb. 28th. So, I had a free month & now have another ear infection! Hopefully only in the right ear this time but, the two ears usually go together as ENT canal joins the ears, nose & throat together! So, ordered another bottle of Otomize as I always do when I start using a bottle so, one is always to hand for the next ear infection. I can’t remember when I last had cold, it must be at least 5 years now, & I keep getting ear infections instead!
I kept putting the max you can dial up in one dose of 60 NR for my meals yesterday but, my graph just seemed to be stuck in 14-16mmol range for most of the day until the evening when it started to come down a bit maybe because of the antibiotic ear spray? Spent a few fractious hours in a light sleep aware of the pain in my ear & up now with another spray & some breakfast. Another full 60 NR dose & see what my BS does: I’m reluctant to put in more than 60 as I’m wary of my high insulin tolerance that landed me in hospital; but, I’m also, reluctant to increase my basal as it takes SO long with tresiba changes to come through & learnt the hard way that I always get caught out once I start spraying & my ear/s get better?
I’ve also, noticed that the infections are after I’ve been out of the house on medical appointments as well: after last hospital review with the last infection & now after physio & asthma review; maybe I’m too protected at home & once I venture outside I get hit by a bug! There’s been a certain school of thought that’s been around for quite some time now that allergies & autoimmune conditions like asthma being on the rise in young children is due to parents bringing them up in over sterile environments; not that my home is particularly sterile?🙄

Is that what caused your BS to rise so much?
Yes I have heard about the sterile environment theory. My mum always encouraged us to play outside and we got very dirty. She was also fond of liberal applications of TCP and hot soapy water too.
