Group 7-day waking average?

Hello everyone on this rather grey and very cold day.

8.6 this morning.

I have spent the last two days tearing my hear out with a techie prob. Talk tomorrow!

19:08 BS 3.5 & had a giant marshmallow & just waiting for the libre to catch up 19:24 BS 4.5! Just had about 4 hours sleep so, it IS waking, for me!

I can’t remember when I was last on here?

I was a little bit caught out despite being cautious both before & after physio for my right wrist today: knew from that past how unpredictable BS can be & NEVER go in on an empty stomach as I almost fainted the 1 time I did before as the exercises, just stretches at this early stage, takes it out of me; BS can rise from the pain & effort but, drop suddenly & that’s what it despite, me being conservative with NR today!

First & maybe only physio appointment today as the treatment for tendon wrist injuries now doesn’t involve any type of machinery, of echo sounds & the like, I had every week of different types that went to different depths as the tendon healed from deep down on the way up to the surface as the physiotherapist said that’s no longer done as daily stretches, exercises and later strengthening exercises proved to be much more effective & faster. Ice it every night before bed for 20 minutes & wear a thumb support De Querain splint for about 6 weeks during the day when not doing physio stretches & not at night when sleeping! The physiotherapist said I did the classic thing that people do with this type of injury & that was not use the wrist so, it stiffened up & I was, it felt like it to me & I know it’s an exaggeration, screaming in pain half a million times a day from the slightest nudge, twist, bend or weight exerted on it inadvertently & quite often in bed at night NOT moving it at all & still have sharp nerve, exacerbated neuropathy I suspect, making me get up later & later during the day as it took me longer & longer to get to sleep from the pain!

The physiotherapist said the wrist needs a combo of movement AND rest & support the rest of the time so, I have 3 sets of 10 different stretches twice a day to start with & build it up to more sets later & strengthening exercises even later down the line.

Ah! Libre is having an odd, here & there, non sensing moment but, there was a little trace of a graph there & my BS is up in the 7’s or 8’s I’m guessing after the marshmallow so, I get up & have something to eat! It took me THAT long to sleep last night that I only had 2 or 3 hours of a light sleep before getting up for my physio appointment this morning as I HAD to eat something, learnt the hard way NEVER have physio on an empty stomach, & conked out more or less after physio & eating lunch!

I hope you’ve all had a better day than me & I wish you all a Very Good Night! 😉

in Hello everyone on this rather grey and very cold day.

8.6 this morning.

as they say a problem shared …
by the way hope you weren’t actually 😱 tearing your hair out @PattiEvans
but yes, technology can be challenging these days
even for those of us old enough to know everything, or in my case forgot everything I used to know 🙄

01:17 BS 8.2 & I MEANT to have either 42 or 44 NR, down from usual breakfast dose of 48, for some quick seafood ramen cup noodles BUT, completely forgot to stick it in & then, dozed off! But, even without NR at all my BS meal hill looks as per usual & returned to where it started a bit lower about 4 hours later! Still a bit of residual physio effect there I suspect? Also, meant to ice my wrist after eating but, I dozed off too fast after eating. Woke with a bit of pain so, had breakfast & iced it afterwards! My word! My nerve endings were tingling like mad from the cold before the numbness hit & the pain went. Absolutely freezing cold for a while that I could still feel before it settled down & I can visibly see now my wrist swelling has gone down.

A very early, silly o’clock, Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

I shall give it a couple of hours yet before I do my first set of stretches & ice it again after if needed; see how it goes? NHS cutbacks & wrist splints aren’t given out anymore & I had to buy one from Amazon yesterday: checked first, of course, if my chemist had the right sort after physio yesterday which they didn’t, & it’ll be delivered today as I happen to be on a free month trial, again as they keep offering periodically, of Amazon Prime; I’ve never seen the point of having to keep paying for express delivery as I don’t buy that much that often!

A bit of a catch-up since I last posted on here. I have slowly & steadily lost weight from 95 kilos to 90 kilos just by eating a bit less & moving around a bit more! I didn’t really think my breathing & asthma had improved that much from the winter which was REALLY bad this time but, I noticed it yesterday when I walked down & back again the health centre corridors without any heavy breathing at all: wasn’t until after I sat down that I thought “Hang on! That didn’t take ANY effort at all!” And after physio I was even thinking of walking down the 400/500m to the chemist to see if they had the right splints: wouldn’t EVEN had considered that before; decided not to push a good thing too far though as I didn’t want to be stressing & heaving half way down!

Was surprised to get another hospital review 3 months after the last one but, the new consultant maybe wanted to check back up on the weight situation which I said I would work on, I DID & I’m feeling smug, that’s been changed 3 times already! Hopefully the 3rd date of 1st May will stay this time? And we’ll see what the A1c is: libre has gine up & down from 8.0% to 8.4%; NEVER been particularly accurate on A1c predictions though for me & I’m never sure what it’ll be? Libre has always been about the trends & graphs of my BS & how food & behaviours effect it!

The weather has only REALLY come out of the winter about now & the sun is a bit brighter with the days starting to lengthen & hopefully I can move around even more, venturing outside a bit, & lose a bit more weight but, I’m quite chuffed I still lost 5 kilos in 3 months while the weather was still cold with the winter storms!

Oops! I’ve waffled & typed longer than I thought I would because my wrist is still pretty happy after the ice but, don’t push it too far & I’ll sign off now! Phew! I hear you lovely lot exclaim?😉:D

Up a lot earlier than I usually am. Should do it more often if I can produce one of these. :D

Morning a 6.1 for me with a gentle decline with 2 rounds of toast in evening after going low.
Very quiet WFH yesterday and catch up on admin so will go back to Wirral today so swapped my normal routine around.
But after busy Wednesday and Domino’s failing to send me a scanned receipt ( also sending a card rather than VAT receipt with delivery) it is best to call in and sort it out.
These things can always get sorted but sometimes their process’s do not work ideally so need to find a work around.
Fortunately it does not cause me any extra work and can fit it in around other stuff.
Have a MRI scan at hospital tomorrow just to check state of some of my veins supplying my Pancreas just to see if I need to stay on the blood thinners.
Would be nice to get all clear but as I have been on them for over 2 years with no issues then not worried about situation.
Have a good day and even better w/ end.

I will have to lower my basal later today, alarm has slipped to 2pm now due to the late getting up after the late getting to sleep! And I’ll take down -4 in one go as I’ll also be without libre for 6-10 days while I send my iPhone in for a change of battery after this last day, less than 24 hours left, of this sensor. Will, of course, be fingertip testing but, not as often & can’t see as much without the libre!

My BS is dropping lower past the 6 hours mark & the daily stretches will be easing the pain so, less basal needed!

I’ve REALLY taken care of my iPhone battery & it’s lasted twice as long as my last iPhone with 4 years & 3 months & I’ll expect a few more years again with the battery changed! Although, the last year & a half of the libre drained the battery at a much faster rate than my still at 87% battery life of my iPhone 6 that I use as my phone: the SE 2nd Germination is just for the libre & went from 94%-80% in 1.5 years of the libre!

I’m feeling very reluctant to go without the libre for so long but, it has to done as the phone battery is definitely unstable & switching off earlier despite what it says is the remanning power left!

It’ll be strange to go back to fingertip testing now!

Morning all. And welcome back @Lanny - Great to see you posting again! Now we need @Gwynn to come back too.

Meanwhile… 6.3 this morning for me. Volunteered at Queer Britain all day yesterday which was lovely. And feeling bold I sported a decent smoky eye - using purples into blues with a touch of shimmer - just to add a soupçon of glamour to my jeans, white T-shirt, grey hoodie combo. It clearly made people smile and I had a good number of compliments on them throughout the day.

I won’t do it every time I volunteer there but I’ll certainly rock a look like that again at some point for sure.

Today’s mainly going to be spent trying to figure out what it is that Yodel say that they delivered yesterday but failed to provide any proof of delivery actually of. Not even a photo of a closed door this time. Nothing.

Possibly at the ballet later to see Balanchine: Three Signature Works as I’ve got my ticket but not sure if I’m in the mood.

Also need to try on swimming stuff and shorts etc as I expect I’ll need to get smaller ones to fit my svelte physique given the weightloss since early last December.

Morning all. 4.8 after a 4u corrrction before bed, needed becaise of melted cheese in orzo dinner.

The sun is out and i need to get the washing on the line, the bed changed and i am cleaning around today.

Congrats to @MeeTooTeeTo and @Robin on your HS.

Good morning. 6.3 and a fairly flatish flatfish.

Lie in today until daughter number one decided to send a message in the family group at 6.45! It’’s ok for other two daughters they’ve got babies/toddlers. She’ll be getting her bottom smacked when I see her later! 😉

Childcare free Friday, unfortunately, not housework free, I’ve to catch up with the laundry, lots of washing this week as the weather has been so good, so that means lots of ironing, which means I can also catch up on my telly, Celebrity Bake Off and Gogglebox. It’s not all bad. Mr Eggy putting some more tatties in. Then tonight we’re going out, eldest daughter’s husband’s 50th birthday tomorrow, and his mother is taking the family out for a meal to a local gastro pub. She’s kindly invited us. I’m already worried about what to eat, I’ve looked at the menu and it’s all very rich or heavy or large, or all three. I’m thinking of maybe just having a starter for my main. It’s such a pain these days going out for a meal, also the table is booked for 7.45 so goodness knows when we’ll eat, there’s ten of us! Plenty of Creon and no alcohol, I’ve said I’ll drive, so fingers crossed my gastric system will behave itself . 🙄

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo and @Robin on your HSs.

Have a fabulous Friday folks.

Morning all a cold dull gray day here. 5.6 for me
you all have a good day
take care

I hope you're able to enjoy the meal out tonight @eggyg.

Thank you for the anniversary best wishes. We had a lovely meal out - it was just as good as we remembered from years ago! The staff even brought out free ice cream for us to share when they found out it was our anniversary. I decided that I wasn't going to worry about numbers for 1 day but, since I'm wearing a CGM at the moment, I couldn't completely discount what my readings were. I was pleased to see that, despite eating more carbs at one meal than I've probably eating in the whole month beforehand, my numbers stayed below 10. My 'running range' since the meal has stayed higher than my average though so I guess I have a 'carb hangover' to deal with - which explains the higher than normal (for me) 6.4 this morning (rising to 7.2 with FOTF). But, I regret nothing! It was a lovely day which we both enjoyed.

Going to go and see my folks today, otherwise just quiet. Maybe some more progress on sewing my blanket.

Take ccare everyone.

Morning

Hoping there is room for me with @MeeTooTeeTo and @Robin on the 5.2 step today. Congratulations to my fellow HS. Eye screening today, quite cloudy here at the moment so hoping it stays that way, will take my sunglasses with me just in case as I will be walking there and back again.

Got more clearing done at FIL’s house yesterday, but rant now coming up so please feel free to scroll past. The Gas safe engineer turned up and and unfortunately the gas leak wasn’t coming from the hob as we had hoped but a pipe in a concrete floor, he was amazed that the house had not blown up given the size of the leak, we can only assume it had not long happened as although the house smelt terribly of gas on eviction day, if it had been leaking a long time we don’t think the house would have still been there, anyway got to wait to get a quote to get a new pipe fitting, gas engineer suggested running it differently as only a short distance from the meter in the a garage to the kitchen, but more money for us to pay out we haven’t got, and now another few weeks before we can put the house up for sale, we will of course get our money back from the solicitor but it is finding it in the first place, hubby has also requested that the full cost is taken from the family members share of the estate as it happened while she was living there, but of course once again it is hubby who has the headache of dealing with it. Just totally fed up, for over 4 years she denied hubby access to a house he owned 1/2 of with his father, father’s half forms the estate with is to be split equally between hubby and his sister, now after al this time and expensive legal proceedings the house was in a poor condition due to her hoarding, most of the time spent clearing has been her rubbish, and I mean rubbish, over 2 70ltr black sacks of used tissues left on the floor of one room alone. The disgusting state of the kitchen and bathroom, now the delaying of being able to sell the property just when we had got it empty. I feel like it will never be over and it has spoilt any happy memories hubby had of growing up there.

Sorry for the rant, but felt so dejected yesterday.

Good morning a Len today

congratulations to HS producers @MeeTooTeeTo , @Robin & @Grannylorraine

Unsurprisingly I'm not going BTW today, having turned on my works computer on Wednesday to do some expense claims, realised that definitely that I’m just not ready (after the stress I’ve been through) I’m still not 100% sure if it’s anxiety or overwhelming, but obviously need to be ready 100% for my RTW,
sent an email to HR yesterday
I might even start looking at job opportunities elsewhere or a career change maybe, that’s certainly something that Mrs @goodybags is always telling me.

A few chores around the bungalow this morning for me, this afternoon wife & I are heading down to MK for some wholesale food shopping she needs.

There’s been earthquakes this morning apparently the biggest ones are over in in Burma (Myanmar)
it was felt in Thailand apparently across that part of Asia into China
Mrs @goodybags was this morning watching live TV (via-online streaming) isn’t the internet fantastic for some things, when suddenly whilst live at about 06:45 they felt the shudders in the TV studio in Bangkok I’ve just been sent video clips of buildings collapsing out in Bangkok, some of the buildings out in Asia certainly aren’t earthquake proof, some not even up to their buildings standards are they.

Im really looking forward to the weekend, my activity (WalkingFootball/MH program) is back on tomorrow morning, a few days ago bought some new shorts size small & medium, even bought a new pair of speedos (no not budgue smugglers don’t worry) and needed small
very very different to the XL/2XL/3XL (of a few years ago)

Tomorrow afternoon is a vital game for Northampton Town as many games are this time of year plus we are away at Cambridge.
I shall be glued to the radio & possibly watching online (if it’s available to stream) I’m going to go now Ive probably sent a few of you back to sleep with my meandering on ..
TC

Finally a Fantastically Fabulous Friday to all Forum Friends

4.0 for me but that was after a 2 unit correction at 3.36am according to my Libre log. Happy enough with that and it meant I didn't have to wait to eat breakfast again this morning.
Well done @Lanny on your weight loss and getting more active and great to hear that it is improving your asthma. I also find that exercise improves my asthma. Keep up the good work and hope the wrist heals soon. Good to see you back.

@Grannylorraine i wanted to give you a star for your HS. Congrats on that. I hope the quote will be less than you think it might be and that its all sorted quickly so you can get the house sold. Take care.

@goodybags one thing i learned was that going through stress and anxiety at work is just not worth it. I used to feel sick going in on the morning and my chest ached on the drive home at night. No job is worth feeling anxiety and stress over. Take care of yourself first. I found something Partha Kar posted and i thought how true it was.
