Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all. 6.1.

Early start, not because I have to but I’ve been awake since 4.30. The old internal monologue was at it again! Mother in law has taken a turn for the worse. She was responding well to antibiotics and seemed positively chirpy on Monday. The hospital even said she could be discharged in a couple of days. Mr Eggy took her iPad in and she remembered her password and was happily playing solitaire. He also took some photos in of the family, and her and her sister spent all of the visiting time looking through them. Yesterday she was just sleeping, refusing to eat or drink and pulled her catheter out. The delirium team were called in at the weekend, which in itself is concerning, she’s now on a drip and the nursing staff are “worried” about her. Of course, I consulted Dr Google and there’s nothing they can give her for delirium just keep her hydrated and try and get her to move about, the prognosis isn’t great. Mr Eggy is expecting the worse. I’ve got up as my tossing and turning woke him so his internal monologue was turned on, hopefully he’ll get some sleep now.

Plans up in the air, as you can imagine, no childcare today but tomorrow we do. Youngest daughter putting her house on the market, agent coming to take photos tomorrow so she needs the girls out of the way and then at 2pm they’re going to view yet another house. Middle daughter and baby and maybe eldest granddaughter, coming for lunch tomorrow so I’m going to throw together a lasagne after I’ve done a pile of ironing. Need to keep myself busy and and everyone fed.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

6.6 this morning.

Had a lovely day yesterday at Winter Wonderland of all places. Friend wanted to see the “circus” there so we went.

Daytime the place was actually rather delightful. Circus was peculiar but kinda fun.

Today I’ve Robin Hood at the Palladium which I’m expecting will be a visually spectacular panto.

Morning all, 4.7 here. Busy morning, have a telephone Diabetes review with the surgery nurse at 8.40, hope she calls on time (she normally does) because then I’m driving to Hughenden to meet a friend for coffee, walk, and Christmas present swap.
I really don’t have anything to discuss with the nurse, I had my bloods and toe tickle a week ago, and have looked up all the results on line. Only thing I want to talk to her about is swapping my prescription over to the Libre 2+. Which she probably won’t have a clue about as she mainly deals with people who aren’t on CGMs, but provided she can tick the right box we should be OK.

5.6 for me
good morning all
7 sleeps till Santa comes
EDIT REASON ADD MORE

had breakfast at 730am normal marmite on 2 wholemeal toast and a mug of coffee normally sends my BG up to 7-10 Today it was 5.8 at 825am Nurse said it needs to be a bit higher that that So she made me eat a bananna before giving me my insulin. Thats happened a couple of times lately Wonder if the diabetic fairy is to blame

9.7 this morning. A little high still but it was 9.5 at bedtime so 10U of Levemir seems to be about right for basal.

For the first time in ages I got up nice and early, had a shower and treated myself to a really nice shave with one of my straight razors. I got really into this routine over the summer but got out of it a bit but I find it very therapeutic so must force myself to do this every day again.

Christmas pizza day in the office. Better make sure I have plenty of NR in the pen :D

9.7 this morning for me also. But, today I am not too bothered, coz last night my musician friends and I had our pre-Christmas shindig and I had a blast playing tunes, singing a few songs and drinking more red wine than is good for me. Definitely in Christmas mode now. 🙂

Seasons greetings one and all!

Good morning everyone

BG 5.4 seems typical for me right now

Yesterday we had a practice for the carol service, the oddest practice I have ever had (just 2 of us), but at least it went well. Lugging my heavy keyboard downstairs and to the church and back (I had a lift) made my hip very sore and yet this morning it seems much better! Not complaining!

I am presently refining (fiddling with the code and interfaces) a media selection App that I originally wrote a few years back. A relaxing thinking activity (for me).

Today, rest, more carols practice, and pizza for tea.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing.

Morning

4.8, managed to get some presents wrapped yesterday, but ran out of labels. Todays plans decorate a couple of Christmas cakes, maybe marzipan another one or two, wrap up more presents once hubby gets home from work with more labels, might even go through some left over Christmas cards and cut a few bits out to use.

@eggyg - sorry to hear about mil, I know she has been a pain, but very worrying for the family now.

@Eternal422 - sorry to read of your concerns on your thread, as a type 2 on oral meds I don’t feel I can offer you any sensible advice other than to push for keeping your insulin if that is your preferred choice.

Good morning! Woke to a 7.1 a while ago as had early doors supermarket delivery (only slot I could get this week - it is as if the population doubles for Christmas although one driver told me he thinks half of what he delivers will end up as food waste/landfill! :(

No appointments today. Yesterday although Patient Transport actually did everything in a timely manner the Podiatry session was concerning! :( Very mixed emotions at the moment but will update https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/my-poorly-leg.106990/page-14 in a day or two.

Lot milder but very cloudy.

Thank you. After a sleepless night I now wonder at the wisdom of trying Metformin yet again when 5 years on it did nothing to bring my HbA1c down, in fact it went up in that time from 71 to 144! More questions for my DSN before deciding on doing any changes!

6.1 today somehow after a restless night, only falling into a fitful sleep after 4am, all thanks to the bombshell from my consultant suggesting a trial of Metformin and Dapagliflozin, stopping insulin! I’ve started a thread C Peptide Results about my worries and fears around this, it’s helping writing it down and sharing.

Just had a phone call from the diabetes team at hospital in response to my request for a face to face appointment with my DSN and they have fitted me in on Monday Dec 23. I’m so grateful they are genuinely caring and helpful. I need to prepare my list of questions and worries for then!

@eggyg - so sorry to hear about your MIL, hoping things improve.

Congratulations @Colin g on your HS!

Have a good day everyone!

A near miss earlier for me with 5.3. 🙂

Dez

Morning everyone. Wet and windy here today and a lowly 4.1 on waking.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

First morning reading for a while was a 5.3

Last day at work, then two weeks off. During which time I need to try to do some music for a film that I made as a teenager getting a release on blu-ray, and continue on a novel I'm writing about a killer mycelium.

Morning all - just another grey and dreary day. The wind was vicious last night, but not a breath this morning.

When I switched the PDM on this morning there was a huge red warning saying "Omnipod 5 App error. If this happens again contact Customer Services". It then proceeded as though nothing had happened and BG was 6.1. Slightly worrying though with Christmas looming.

This evening it's the village Carol festival starting at 6:30 with them trailing round all the roads in the village singing. They have a timetable as to where they will be... and then at 8:30 in the local and drawing the winning tickets for the rather sumptuous Christmas hamper. I saw it and frankly there's an outrageous amount of chocolate in it, but nonetheless we have tickets. We shan't be singing, but will proceed to the pub after an early dinner.

Fortunately there's the second half of the Steak and Kidney pie to have, so no cooking. The pie turned out well, the meat was tender and the kidney not too strong. It was the first time I had made suet pastry and it was really good, crispy on top and chewy with all the meat juices below. I was very pessimistic yesterday with my estimation of how many it would serve. There was pie for 4 and I froze enough filling for another pie the same.

@eggyg so very sorry to hear about MIL. Sending positive wishes to you and Mr eggyg.

@Eternal422 I do understand the mental stress you are going through and I am keeping my fingers crossed you can keep the T1 status. I found the treatment as a T2 and the treatment as a T1 once I had been re-diagnosed was like chalk and cheese.

@harbottle I had to look up Mycellium! The mind boggles!

Hoping for a good day for all of you.

Afternoon all. 6.2 this morning and for once, a nice steady line overnight.

Just been to see mum. She's still in hospital but now been moved to a rehab ward so they can get her back on her feet more. She was getting more independent before she went in so she's gone backwards. I'll be glad when she's back home and i think so will she, its been 4 weeks!!

@eggyg sorry to hear about your MIL. Its a worrying time for Mr Eggy and yourself. Sending big hugs and good wishes to you.

@PattiEvans the pie looks delicious.
