Group 7-day waking average?

Congratulations @a live on your HS!

Morning

4.5 today. A bit late this morning as I didn’t get up until nearly 9, then straight into my therapy assessment call, barely got time to even make a coffee. Call went well, but a long wait for therapy, so will have to talk to HR about any sessions through work, as I am pretty sure we do get them as part of our private health care.

Plans for today are to marzipan a couple more cakes and go see mum later.

@a live - congratulations on your HS today.

Morning everyone. It’s a ‘just missed it’ 5.1 for me this fine misty morning.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Not much planned today so I must get those rum truffles made

Don’t do what I just did. Ive just marzipanned my cake, and made a sweet almond pastry for a pudding I'll be doing over New Year….and absent mindedly ate the offcuts of both while I was going. How do you calculate carbs in that! 😱 (Just stuck a damp finger up in the air and took a punt on 3 units).

Morning all - grey, dark and damp.

6.3 this morning and a flat line all night. Apparently yesterday was a unicorn. The PDM only reports TIR on a 24 hour basis day by day. So far today I am 100% but that could (and probably will) change by midnight.

Not a lot on today, making the pastry for the steak and kidney pie and assembling it for dinner tonight. Over a kilo of meat seems to have shrunk to "enough for 4", making it approx £3.50 per portion.... honestly no wonder I only make it very rarely! Perhaps I should have put carrots and all manner of veg in after all, rather than just mushrooms!
I did buck my ideas up and went into town to chose new specs yesterday afternoon. It’s a dear do getting new glasses! 😳 Merry Christmas Eggy! I’ll be getting nowt else from Santa.😉
I always get my glasses from ASDA. Not every store has an opticians department but it's worth driving (our nearest is over an hour's drive away). You get all the bells and whistles e.e. varifocal, light sensitive, anti-glare etc etc for a fraction of the price and a good selection of frames. Mine cost £139 a month ago. They were not the cheapest frames.
Good morning, 6.4 today. I went a bit higher than I wanted last night after eating sausage casserole, so I went to bed on 7.4. My partner bought the sausages from the butcher and I guess they must have had some non - meat content. So I've asked him to get Heck from the supermarket next time.
Or at least get them where you can see the carb count. They can vary from 6.5g carb per sausage to "trace".

I notice @TinaD is also missing, but I've assumed she's caught up with packing up her house for her imminent move.

Congratulations @a live on your HS.

Be good people and if you can't, then be careful!

I always used to eat the off cuts before diagnosis, now maybe just a tiny weeny bit, because I know how it affects my blood sugar, but it is tempting as I love marzipan. At least being type 2 on oral meds I don’t have the headache of working out the carb count, but it does mean I would feel terrible waiting for bug to come down again.

My lenses were over £300! I’ve picked RayBan frames. 😱 Ah well, you can’t take it with you! We’re SKIIERS. Spending the Kids’ Inheritance!
I think my last pair of specs was £700, ultra thin varifocal with reaction lenses which will go dark in the car (some don't because of UV protection in the windscreen) at an independent optician.

I won’t get much change from £600. When I worked at this opticians I got a free pair of glasses every year, I saved loads, I’ve been going to her for 20 years and trust her explicitly and the after service is second to none.

Hi @Grannylorraine
good to hear your call with the therapist went well, yes definitely talk to someone in HR & ask them if your company has a EAP (employee assistance program) I don’t myself get any private healthcare at my work
but under a EAP I can use a BUPA counselling /therapy service and I can call them anytime, I’ve only called her the once I know I should call them again really, anyway it seems lots of people have access to these EAP’s but just don’t use them

Morning an 8.3 after a bit of DP but spent most of night in 7s so happy enough.
Taken dogs out but only short walk as weather not nice.
Had good day yesterday involving taking lots of hedge cuttings to tip after gardener spent 5 hours trimming and strumming our front greenery.
Also went to a residents meeting at local Town Hall last night to try and oppose a series on Housing developments and it was a good turnout.Have never been to one before and always been happy to have a balanced approach to such plans and never had the greatest faith in local Council and/ or Groups which I often thought attract a certain type of individual to which I don’t naturally like to get involved with.
But apart from one individual who was on a promoting a very personal agenda I was impressed with the balanced arguments and concerns expressed by many at the Meeting so May seek to get involved.
Any way quite enthused about the challenge ahead.

Mine were £600 I think. Similar, ultra thin, varifocals, with that go dark in the car reactions lenses. Rayban frames. Vision Express.

Morning all. 6.1.

Early start, not because I have to but I’ve been awake since 4.30. The old internal monologue was at it again! Mother in law has taken a turn for the worse. She was responding well to antibiotics and seemed positively chirpy on Monday. The hospital even said she could be discharged in a couple of days. Mr Eggy took her iPad in and she remembered her password and was happily playing solitaire. He also took some photos in of the family, and her and her sister spent all of the visiting time looking through them. Yesterday she was just sleeping, refusing to eat or drink and pulled her catheter out. The delirium team were called in at the weekend, which in itself is concerning, she’s now on a drip and the nursing staff are “worried” about her. Of course, I consulted Dr Google and there’s nothing they can give her for delirium just keep her hydrated and try and get her to move about, the prognosis isn’t great. Mr Eggy is expecting the worse. I’ve got up as my tossing and turning woke him so his internal monologue was turned on, hopefully he’ll get some sleep now.

Plans up in the air, as you can imagine, no childcare today but tomorrow we do. Youngest daughter putting her house on the market, agent coming to take photos tomorrow so she needs the girls out of the way and then at 2pm they’re going to view yet another house. Middle daughter and baby and maybe eldest granddaughter, coming for lunch tomorrow so I’m going to throw together a lasagne after I’ve done a pile of ironing. Need to keep myself busy and and everyone fed.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
