Group 7-day waking average?

Ohhh but @eggyg beef fillet is a whole other treat, it's not just roast beef.
I like beef fillet, in fact we have one in the freezer which we bought from our favourite butcher when we were in the Lakes. Cut four steaks off it first, two of which we’ve had. Delicious. Probably have it for New Years Eve. Not cheap but worth it. Mr Eggy is the steak/beef fillet chef. That makes it even tastier!

Oh no goose is lovely and fatty.
We have goose, it feeds four of us hot for Christmas day, cold on Boxing day, then some bits for sandwiches, and loads of stock for soup, plus a pate made from the liver. it provides me with enough fat to roast potatoes in for the rest of the year.(I render down every bit I can find, pour it into tubs and freeze it)

Hmmm…delicious. It is a lovely meat and we’ve had a years worth of fat too. I begrudge it when I have to start buying it.

Good morning 7.1 today

awake before the sun or the larks today, as a few others have done, Ive changed my avatar to something Christmassy, that was My Late Mother,Mrs @goodybags & me (back in 2018)

Happy Monday everyone 😎

Woke up with a start about 20 mins ago and flew into a panic that I’d basically slept through the entirety of Monday. And I’ve got panto today so that just won’t do!

Anyway, 6.3

Skimmed the weekend posts I’d missed and have to chime in on Christmas foods etc. One year when it was just me (as it is again this year) I just had loads of the accompaniments and no turkey / capon / goose / duck etc. It was lovely!
Obviously no pigs in blankets as kosher pigs are difficult to find

9.5 this morning which seems to be about where I'm landing at the moment.

This week I'm going to start playing around and be looking getting a proper handle of my insulin ratio.

I haven't been weighing carbs etc, just eating sensibly and taking the flat 10 units of everything.

I knew last night's Sunday dinner was going to be high carbs so did risk a 12 unit dose. Was still 14.5 over 4 hours later so perhaps that still wasn't enough.

Need the data though so this morning I'm going to be sure on the amount of carbs and see what the readings are like just before and 2 hours after.

Will do the same for lunch and start to try and get a better idea of what my bolus should be.

Good morning - 4.4

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all 5.4 for me
9 sleeps till Santa comes

Morning all, 5.1 here, so close!
Son successfully retrieved from airport yesterday, must have had a stonking tailwind, he landed 40 minutes early and was waiting for us in a coffee shop. We joined him for a coffee, then OH went for the most expensive wee ever..it cost us an extra £4.50 car parking because we just went over the half hour into the next price bracket.

Morning all. 7.6 for me on waking, after a very flat night. My 'dawn phenomenon' alert did go off shortly after 4am, so I gave myself 1 unit of NovoRapid to keep it in check. From past experience, if I don't do this it is likely to creep up to 10 or above by breakfast time, which makes for a difficult morning. Especially, as now, when I am still in the middle of a cold, albeit feeling MUCH better than I did before the weekend.🙂

Morning

4.6, ended up spending a lot if yesterday afternoon and evening in bed, felt awful, but no real reason. Anyway didn’t achieve all the things I wanted to do, but today is a new day and I can start again, although already have achy glands in neck and under arms so probably picked up a virus somewhere.

I am another one who has never tried goose, don’t think hubby would like it as only roast meat he ever eats is chicken, turkey or beef.

I just Googled “small goose” and this popped up.

Might be of interest to those who fancy an easy way of trying it (assuming you’re OK eating the pork in the stuffing)

Afternoon, well it is for me, 5.5. Had a rough night, woke at 4.30 which isn’t unusual but I woke Mr Eggy, by accident, and he was tossing and turning, I could actually hear his mind whirring. The wind was rattling the old sash windows, that didn’t help. Still awake 6ish, we had a chat, dozed off until a ping woke us at 6.50, phone not on silent because of mother in law situation. It was his youngest brother saying he’d visit mother tonight! Dozed off again and woke suddenly to the heating clicking on at 8am. I have a headache and feel worse then I did at 4.30! Can’t win.😉

Last quiet day before the onslaught of child care and feeding the hordes. I was thinking of nipping into town to the opticians to pick new specs, I didn’t have time last week after my test, but the way I’m feeling I just want to sit in my jimjams all day. At least I’ve got all my presents bought and wrapped, cards sent and dining room Christmas twig errr I mean tree decorated! We must repot that blooming poor tree, we just shove it back on the decking in the new year and then neglect it!

Have a Happy Monday, still very gusty here but incredibly mild. I don’t like it.

Here’s our Christmas twig, our dining room is blue themed.

Top man! Although I eat sausages and bacon occasionally I can't stand roast pork or lamb. The occasional peasant is quite tasty though!
