Group 7-day waking average?

4.9 for me this morning.

Mum & Dad were in a good mood yesterday when we visited, so it was a pleasant visit. Dad’s long list of jobs wasn’t much at all, although I appreciate they would have taken him ages to do.

Not much planned today which is nice as the rest of the week we have lots on each day. All nice things though like visiting friends and we’ve done the shopping and present wrapping so just a few bits of food to get. Oh, and I’ll be making some rum truffles to add to Mum’s Christmas present as she loves them but nowhere seems to sell them anymore, at least in their original form.

Have a good Monday everyone!

Morning everyone. A happy 5.6 for me today after a good night’s sleep, the best for ages, it must have had something to do with my long bike ride yesterday (11 miles).

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

We have an Alexa in the kitchen which is great when you are planning meals you can ask it to add items to your shopping list. Yesterday I said "Add red tabasco to my shopping list."
The reply was "I've added bread to basket to your shopping list."
I suppose I should have followed my dear old mum's advice about not speaking with your mouth full. :D
We’ve had lots of funny mistakes adding things to my Alexa shopping list. She once added dildo! I swear on my grandchildren’s lives that’s not what I said, but I didn’t notice until I was walking round Tesco! Still haven’t fathomed what it was supposed to be. Sometimes the grandkids are naughty and add things like fart and bum.

Good morning everyone. A nice 6.5 for me today with a smooth line through the night. Planning to do fun Christmas things today including easy crafting and watching a Christmas film and maybe playing a Christmas game. It’s just the two of us for Christmas and we always start celebrating it very early.

Need the data though so this morning I'm going to be sure on the amount of carbs and see what the readings are like just before and 2 hours after.
The two hour reading is really for T2s Danny. You need to test when your insulin has run it's course. If you are back to where you started then the dose was appropriate. I can't recall what fast acting you are on, if it's Novorapid it's likely to be in your system for about 4.5 hours. If I may, can I suggest you get a copy of "Think like a Pancreas" by Gary Scheiner which will give you an in-depth understanding of insulin therapy. I certainly learned a lot from it when I was quite newly diagnosed.

Thank you, that's very useful. Cool, re-check before lunch which is usually 4-5 hours after breakfast for me.

As soon as Type has finally been confirmed and assuming it is T1 or I stay on insulin anyway then I'll be getting that book.

Hotel Chocolat do! 🙂

Morning all. A high 9.7 with a spike overnight. Dinner was something new so i think i had the pizza effect. Note to self, if i have it again, set alarm for later checking!

Currently in ASDA trying to redeem our christmas savings card. Shop won't accept it, branch customer services can't help, main customer services asking for so many details that hubby has to keep checking and calling back!! They like to have the money but aren't making it easy to redeem. Never had this problem with them before.

Morning all - nice blue sky today.

6.1 which is miles better than yesterday, but I discovered why yesterday was so high. The pod had been leaking instead of injecting, when I took it off it was soaking - must have knocked the cannula out.

All this talk of game (particularly Peasant) has reminded me that my online game supplier has gone into bankruptcy (after I'd paid £15 to get free delivery for a year). We love a bit of game, must find another supplier.

Not doing much today, apart from a visit to the Chiropractor this afternoon - hope he can fix my painful shoulder. Oh and cooking Steak and Kidney ready for a pie. Need to find something quickish for dinner though, as the Snake and Pygmy won't be ready today as I can't start it until I get back from the Chiro.

@Eternal422 I think I saw some rum truffles in Lidl the other week. Push comes to shove they are really easy to make... see https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/easy-rum-truffles

@freesia hope you get ASDA kicked into touch!

I notice @Martin.A hasn't been seen for a few days. Hope he is OK.

So, folks - have a good day!

A stiffy worded email to manager may help. Good luck and let us know how it goes, as you say they are quick enough to take your money

So my pre-lunch reading was 8.7 down from 11.1 and with 35g of carbs (plus 3 cups of coffee with oat milk) so dose probably a little high but still working on getting my levels within range for days not hours!

See how my pre-tea reading is following a nice plate of spag bol (way more bol than spag), a yoghurt and an apple.

Would be nice to have a day where my average BG is <9 🙂

Was a5.1 for me this morning.Have to take the plunge today and nip into mark's and sparks see if I can get me old mother some clothes.Shes lost that much weight a size 8 will be big on her .Least I got her hearing sorted last week . Specsavers came out and had her hearing on the day .Bad enough her being blind but deaf as well .Wish me luck .Just received a letter from diabetes UK saying congratulations your a winner. When I saw that he cheque for a £5 bit of a downer..Try not to spend it all at once Have a good day folks

Good Monday everyone! 8'4. Better than yesterday's 11'1.

I spent basically the whole day above 10 and it really annoyed me. Operation "get my BG together before holidays" is not going too well. I've decided today is another week and another opportunity. I put fresh cartridges on both of my pens (it was time to change them, and there was a lot less left than usual) and I am trying to split Levemir. That requires moving my morning dose so I can take it at a consistent time every day, it should also be beneficial to have a more stable background now that I take bolus daily. I'm used to take my basal first thing in the morning, but with my working hours that can be any time from 5 am to 10 am, and if I'm taking an extra injection at bedtime I feel that variability could get messy!

Ohh, checking my own forum signature I realised my "diaversary" was last week! Happy 3 years of glucose madness to me! o_O

Elenka_HM when I was on Levemir I found it very forgiving as to timings. I'd just take it when I got up and when I went to bed, those could vary by anything up to 3 hours.

I have seen rum truffles in Iceland today, although I don't know if they are the originals you are thinking about. Anyway making them at home sounds more special for a present <3
