Group 7-day waking average?

Thanks for that. She doesn’t get housing benefit she pays her rent in full so I suppose she’d have to carry on paying. I’ll look into it.
Other half's late mum and his sister lives in flat which is an organisation Housing 21, they have places with different levels of support which are either buy or rent so there may be something like that which would be suitable in your area.
It is always a difficult decision but sometimes the best and people do better once they have more company and support.

Morning everyone. The sun is shining and with a little breeze it’s a very pleasant day - just right for a bike ride me thinks.

Anyway, it’s a 4.3 for me today a tad on the low side but breakfast soon pushed it up.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Morning all - a lovely Cornish one today with blue skies and sunshine!

7.3 this morning. Oh well!

Got the results of the blood tests done on Wednesday when I looked online last night. Curiously they didn't appear to do an Hba1c. However, although I was certain I'd switched my phone off before the film on Thursday, my phone went off during it. I quickly silenced it, though I could see it was a call from the surgery. Indeed when I rang them back after I came out of the cinema they said that I need more blood tests in 2 - 4 weeks and that I am low in sodium again. I also (and rather worryingly) noticed that my eGFR has dropped from 64 to 53 which I think is far too low. Total chol was 6.2 but HDL quite high and triglycerides nice and low giving a ratio of 2.77 which I am happy with. We'll see after the next tests which are on 2nd January, when I will also ask for Hba1c to be done.

Not up to much today, apart from a grocery shop and I also need to do some cooking for the freezer, as we resorted to beans on toast last night, as I felt too tired to cook anything more ambitious after being out most of the day.

I think you're very brave to make stollen @ColinUK! I would never dream of it.... I confess to having a bought one in the cupboard.

@Leadinglights you are dead right about people doing better having company. Maybe the attention seeking is done out of loneliness?

Ah well... have a happy day people!

It’s an odd one Patti. She has carers four times a day, a cleaner twice a week, who also does the laundry, her sister visits regularly and one of the boys is there most days. She won’t wear her hearing aids so conversation is difficult. She won’t go out the house anymore because she is scared she’ll fall. She’s not interested in anything, doesn’t read anymore, knit or cook, she was a professional wedding /celebration cake maker. She just lets everyone else run after her. If it’s not about her she’s not interested. She’s been mollycoddled her whole life from her mother ( apparently she was a “sickly” child) Mr Eggy’s dad did everything for her, when he died when she was only 69, the boys took over because she was clueless, didn’t know how to pay a bill or write a cheque, get money from a cash machine, didn’t know anything. I always say they’ve all enabled her. I’m not sure company even 24/7 would be enough. She hates it when people talk amongst themselves if they’re at her house, she even does a fake fainting fit, we all ignore her now as when it first happened an ambulance was called and she spent four days in hospital where she had every test known to man! Nothing found of course. This is what I meant by complicated. After nearly 18 years we’re all a bit weary of it all, to say the least.

5.3 this morning, usual weekend shopping with a few more bits toward Christmas in the food line, sensor stopped working on Thursday phoned abbott so many questions but they sent new one out, I'm going to leave it off for a while
and just finger pricking, with all the stress and upset we have had its one less thing to worry about hope everyone has a good weekend

4.6 this morning after a night of lows, seems to have stabilised now though. To be honest it must have been down to me over estimating carbs and ending up taking too much insulin.

Now back home after a delayed flight, which wasn’t an issue as my wife’s aunt is only 5 mins from the airport, so we had longer to chat before heading off. No problems getting through security at Derry airport, unlike Birmingham! Sad to leave but kind of nice to be back home at the same time.

Take care everyone.

Oh dear yes, I see where you are coming from now. I imagined she had long periods of the day when she was alone. I can see how you are tired of it after all those years. It must be very hard for you all and you have enough on your plates with your own families. Hard to see what the answer is!

Good evening was 6.9 despite me late on posting I was at my usual time - following a 2am low alarm (FP test confirmed levels had dropped as low as 3.6)

Plans for today changed after a problem with my toe yesterday evening
I was planning on getting up early today, to walk a park run - then swim, but actually spent most of the morning trying to find where I could get problem with my toe looked at today,
was told by a clinical assessor (I think she called herself) who called back (from 111) just before midday,
they will they will call later to advise me within the next 12 hours who & where can help me,
I probably shouldn’t have but told them politely not to bother, as I’m still under the Diabetic high risk foot clinic at my local hospital, but seems they're not contactable until Monday, plus on Monday my podiatrist at the surgery should be there anyway (this problem with my toe suddenly came up yesterday evening)

I can see why A&E gets so busy these days, my issue isn’t really a A&E emergency, but need to get my toe dressed really, so mrs @goodybags & I headed this afternoon over to the walk in health centre over at Corby, was horrified how busy it was with a expected 4 hr wait for any treatment it was packed
in the end we decided just to come back home 🙄 so will try and get seen after the weekend I think.

Just about to have my dinner (a bowl of piping hot Chilli Con-Carne & fresh crusty bread)
Tonight I think an early night is needed

Good morning everyone

BG 5.3

Yesterday all I did was rest and it really helped. Mind you I spent all day upgrading a media selector/presenter App which was fun and could be easily done sitting on the couch in the living room.

Today I must practice Christmas carols and prepare tonights meal ( not at the same time). Oh, I don't know...

Still no decorations. The only present I really want is for my daughter and her family to 'return' and for my wife to be miraculously healed, oh and someone to donate and bring me (and install) a full sized very large pipe organ!.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Morning an 8.2 with a higher overnight than normal and think it is just being lazier in terms of not doing any walking. So went to Waitrose last night by car rather than walk to get baking items for refrigerator cake which I love.Just wish I could bake and make such stuff.
Lovely lunch out yesterday and just watched TV apart from trip to local Farmers Market which is always a festive one in December.
Going to have a lie down after pooches walked but really need to get those walking boots on.

GM to one and all,

4.9 for me.

A day doing very little but sitting, re- reading The Great Gatsby (one from my Xmas book pile, I simply couldn't wait) and tonight, the exquisite Wolf Hall.

Wishing you all a pleasing Sunday.

Hi,
Baking isn't really my thing, but I just wondered what is a 'refrigerator cake'?

9.7 this morning. A good enough base to build on at the moment.

I'm suspecting I need a little more bolus before tea as 10 units of Levemir keeps me steady through the night looking at my numbers over the last week.

Got my next follow up call on the 18th so will see what the DSN thinks also.

Morning all, 4.3 here and a bit of a crawl along the top of the red for the past few hours.
Got to get a bit of a scurry on, collecting son from Heathrow, and just looked up his flight, which is due to land 40 minutes early, even though it took off late, must have had a tail wind!

Morning all. 5.4 on this mild and breezy day. 11degrees! What’s all that about?

Finally got one Christmas tree, the big one, put up in the living room. Small one, which we drag in from the garden every year even though it always looks like it’s on its last legs, will be placed on a coffee table in the dining room today. The festive season has eventually started in Eggyland. The clutter is annoying me already! Bah humbug! 😛

I’m roasting a duck for Sunday dinner, the Gressingham ducks were on offer in Tesco a few weeks ago so I grabbed one for the freezer. I do love duck for a change. I nearly saved it for Christmas Day as there’s only two of us for dinner, I know, it’s a Christmas miracle, but decided to go for a traditional turkey, as per, even though it’s dry and tasteless! But hey, it’s gotta be done.

Have a super Sunday.

Morning

4.5 after a good nights sleep, think hubby hardly snored, either that or I was too tired to notice. All my cards are written, ones that needed to be posted are in the post. All presents bought, although not wrapped, turkey, pork and pigs in blankets purchased and in the freezer, only the veg and a pot of cream to get now, even then I use frozen peas and frozen honey roast parsnips, so only potatoes, carrots, broccoli and Brussels to buy.

Busy day today, off to the crem as we lost my father in law 4 years ago, then dropping cards and the money envelopes that mum gave me to our children and grandchildren, followed by marzipanning 3 Christmas cakes ready to ice and decorate tomorrow, going for much simpler decoration this year due to not feeling great, and despite deciding to cut down on how many I made, still ended up baking 8.

No spoilers, but loved the Strictly final last night, thought one of the show dances was exceptional, and could see that celebrity dancing in the West End stage.

@eggyg - no words for you mil, are you sure she is not trying to get herself moved in with one of her sons. My mum actually moaned yesterday that as they were planning a coffee and mince pie get together on Christmas Eve for her complex, that there has been too much going on, I did tell her she doesn’t have to go down to it, but why not as I will only be popping g in to see her as I have to much to do.

Morning all 6.3
10 sleeps till Santa comes
Take care all
