Group 7-day waking average?

Err... 13.2 this morning but I completely blew it last night and I think I had my wife's full fat Pepsi and she had my diet.

I thought my tasted pretty good and she hates diet drinks and didn't think hers tasted like full fat and neither of us said anything!

Ah well - be reyt. I'll get it back under control today...

Morning all. 6.4 on this chilly day. Just above freezing.

Still no Christmas tree up or decs even out of the shed, but today is definitely the day. Mother in law safely ensconced in hospital, other sons visiting so, fingers and toes crossed, we have a day off to do all the things we have been trying to get done all week. Nothing exciting I’m afraid, apart from the Christmas tree. Me and Mr Eggy haven’t eaten lunch together all week, he’s been at his mother’s or at hospital with her, on Tuesday he had an emergency call out from eldest daughter to fix her boiler, Dad’s DIY Ltd sorted it. So looking forward to that, we always have a good old natter and it can sometimes stretch to two hours! Then we’re back to our “jobs”.

@Grannylorraine I’ve just got up because of snoring too.

Have a good day, Strictly final tonight. My money’s on Chris and Diane, I’d also be happy with JB and Lauren.

Good morning everyone

BG 5.5

Still struggling with my hip but it does still seem to be getting better-ish. If it is still not good in the new year I will go see a GP.

Lots of Christmas carols practice yesterday, same again today.

This will be a hard Christmas for me this year due to family issues. It looks like that is off to a good start as no decorations up at all. But it could all change in an instant and I hope for that. Having said that my wife seems happy and stable right now, so that's good.

I am presently merging thousands of music mp3 files of all sorts of different composers and 'pop' groups (but keeping the separate compositions/albums separate). It's a loooong process and it took me an age to find a suitable stand alone PC App. Everyone wants you to do it all online. Very boring but it has to be done. I am about half way through I think. I am in the middle of doing the Mahler symphonies right now.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Morning all.
6.9 this morning

Got rid of the leftover cakes at a coffee meet yesterday but didn’t inflict my attempts at low carb stollen on them.

It looks ok if you excuse the ridiculously ott amount of marzipan because I misread the recipe, but it’s both over and under baked at the same time.

What I was aiming for… (recipe on sugar free Londoner)

What I achieved with a double bake to try and rectify the undercooked issue and with clearly far far too much marzipan!

Saw the folks last night for dinner. Played UNO Flip. Laughed lots. Mum asked if I was eating enough. SIL asked what the magic was to my weightloss and I said being much more mindful about what goes in my mouth, significantly lower carb, exercise etc. They do not know about the Mounjaro.

Decided to bin Christmas Day and I’ll go over there on the 27th for dinner instead.

Bit stressed about pushing the police for an in person meeting in the new year to see exactly where we’re at regarding things as it’s a year since the case was reopened and we don’t appear to be moving forward at anything more than a glacial pace.

Off to Cuba this afternoon by way of Carlos Acosta’s: Nutcracker in Havana. It’s had fantastic reviews across the board and I’m looking forward to it. It’s Tchaikovsky’s music given a Cuban twist and the whole thing is set in Havana so that should be fun!

Have as good a day as you can today folks and folkess’s!

GM.

4.8 for me, quiet day today after such a super busy few weeks at work.

Hba1c next week, results should appear well before Xmas...which hopefully will mean loosening of carb counting for a few days. Fortunately I don't like mlnce pues , Xmas cake etc But chocolate, that's a different thing completely and there is always loads around during the holiday season.

Wishing you alll a pleasant weekend

Morning all, 6.8 here.
We are forecast sun peeping out from behind a cloud here this morning. That would be nice, I can’t remember when we last saw the sun. Had a very murky and drizzly ride out on the pony yesterday, with another rider from the yard, we both put reflectives on our horses as well as ourselves, so we show up on the short bit of road we had to do to get to the bridleway.Toby looks a bit like a Halloween pumpkin in his. Here’s a pic taken from daughter's Instagram.

I’m been to Havana in real life. Very unusual city. There’s music everywhere, very noisy, vibrant….until you come to the shops. There’s nothing in them, folks queuing outside a shoe shop with about three pairs in the window. There’s a dark side to it but still fascinating. Probably the most culturally interesting place I’ve ever been to, but a tad on the scary side too. Well, we will go wandering down side streets! 😳
Enjoy your “pretend” Cuba today, sounds amazing.

@Bloden I’ve got to write my Christmas cards and get them in the post soon as well. You’d think I’ve got loads to send but my grand total of Christmas cards to do is now two. I could potentially double it but can’t be bothered quite frankly. Even these have been sitting patiently waiting to be written and dispatched now for ten days… I’ll get around to it eventually I’m sure!

I only send about 20 - we don’t put up Xmas decorations so it’s nice to have some cards on the mantelpiece instead. And I cut them up for present tags the following year.

Morning folks. 7.0 here. There’s nothing between 4 and 7 for me first thing, whatever I tweak!

Yesterday’s cross-marking session went smoothly. I paired up with a teacher that had a handful of tests to mark, like me. Last year, I paired up with someone who had at least 20 sets of tests - everyone was avoiding her like the plague! Too much work LOL.

Today.......relaaaaax, and get those Xmas cards sent.

Mr Eggy home. They’re keeping her in until they make sure it’s safe for her to go home. Don’t really know what that entails. Bloods and ECG all fine, no bruises, cuts or pain, doc suspects she maybe just slumps onto the floor not exactly falls. Meeting with Adult social services and memory team organised for next Wednesday at her home, if she’s home. She has some savings that might get her three months in a care home, but do we chance that and give her bungalow up incase they still can’t get her a funded place? Lots to discuss, it’s a minefield.
Just to say that MIL is entitled to still claim housing benefit for her bungalow, and not give notice on the tenancy, for a period of 13 weeks if it’s decided to do a trial period in a care home. You can get more information on this at Shelter if you need it.

Thanks for that. She doesn’t get housing benefit she pays her rent in full so I suppose she’d have to carry on paying. I’ll look into it.

Good morning - 6.1

Morning all. 3.7 after an earlier hypo which the JBs treated but not enough to set the alarm off again.

We're going to have to record Strictly tonight as daughter coming up from Devon and other daughter and son in law coming for dinner tonight. I'm doing an (almost) Christmas dinner as both are elsewhere on the day itself, for the first time ever! @eggyg i think Chris is amazing and i love Sarah but i'll be pleased for any of them, they are all great dancers. No spoilers anyone tomorrow thank you. We need to try and avoid all news etc until we've seen it.

Its sunny here atm but cold.

Good morning/moaning. After a couple of decent nights have been awake with Phantom Pain since about 2:00 which caused BG mission creep to 9.9 (Emergency going out of range!).:(

Cold and cloudy.

Now my BG is a better 6.3 I opened another door on my Advent Calendar.i had been so annoyed by a 30-minute appointment taking all day on Wednesday I ate three days worth when I got back! :(

Other half's late mum and his sister lives in flat which is an organisation Housing 21, they have places with different levels of support which are either buy or rent so there may be something like that which would be suitable in your area.
It is always a difficult decision but sometimes the best and people do better once they have more company and support.

Morning everyone. The sun is shining and with a little breeze it’s a very pleasant day - just right for a bike ride me thinks.

Anyway, it’s a 4.3 for me today a tad on the low side but breakfast soon pushed it up.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Morning all - a lovely Cornish one today with blue skies and sunshine!

7.3 this morning. Oh well!

Got the results of the blood tests done on Wednesday when I looked online last night. Curiously they didn't appear to do an Hba1c. However, although I was certain I'd switched my phone off before the film on Thursday, my phone went off during it. I quickly silenced it, though I could see it was a call from the surgery. Indeed when I rang them back after I came out of the cinema they said that I need more blood tests in 2 - 4 weeks and that I am low in sodium again. I also (and rather worryingly) noticed that my eGFR has dropped from 64 to 53 which I think is far too low. Total chol was 6.2 but HDL quite high and triglycerides nice and low giving a ratio of 2.77 which I am happy with. We'll see after the next tests which are on 2nd January, when I will also ask for Hba1c to be done.

Not up to much today, apart from a grocery shop and I also need to do some cooking for the freezer, as we resorted to beans on toast last night, as I felt too tired to cook anything more ambitious after being out most of the day.

I think you're very brave to make stollen @ColinUK! I would never dream of it.... I confess to having a bought one in the cupboard.

@Leadinglights you are dead right about people doing better having company. Maybe the attention seeking is done out of loneliness?

Ah well... have a happy day people!
