11/07/25 22:24 BS 6.1 🙂 Getting into the swing of new libre scans & pen scans routine now! :hello: in an “O” shape for an OK emoji! :D

A Very Good Morning, coming up for you normal lot, & have a Wonderful Day! 😉 You CAN skip the rest about golf & cdrama, I won’t know! >>😉😉

My days are strange these days as I wake, eat & sleep at odd hours! I got the Now TV offer of Sky Sports for £29.99/month, usually £34.99, & cancel anytime, there was a slightly cheaper £26.99 on a 6 month contract as well, to watch golf! I was watching The US Open & my hours got switched around: now in mid process of switching body clock back, few hours awake in between dozing off for a few hours, while watching The Scottish Open that finishes on Sunday; just in time for The Open at Portrush next week! 🙄o_O:D

Xu Kai’s drama “Moonlit Reunion” has been delayed due to more last minute editing of the number of episodes: was 40 to start, went down to 36, 39 & the latest I heard is 38 episodes but, final submission is it now & they’ve got their licence so, it shouldn’t be too long now & maybe JUST about make it for the end of July or maybe August! Disney+ is streaming it live globally & I’m REALLY looking forward to it! 😛

Morning all, just missed out with a 5.3.
Just spent half an hour on the beach throwing stones into the sea for the dog. She never gets tired of this game even though she never finds the stone o_O it gives her a good workout anyway so she's set for today.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Morning all, 4.3 here. Travelling back home today, son reports that the house is scorchio upstairs. (we have a big glass atrium over the hall and stairs, which is lovely at any other time of year) hopefully it will have cooled a bit by the time we get back this evening.

Morning all. 🙂 7.5 here.

Up and out early today to beat the heat. I’m off to Swansea today then Bristol tomorrow for a family melt-together - my brother’s Ukrainian house guest is moving on after 3 years, so we’re having a party to say goodbye. I promise not to cry, but I will cos I’m a big softee. Mind you, if this heat continues my tear ducts’ll be as dry as a bone!

Good morning 🙂 It's been a while since I've been able to post one of these, so it was a bit of a shock to see it first thing today 😱 :D Levels have been struggling t stay up in this extreme heat, despite insulin dose reductions :( Yesterday, according to my garden temperature sensor it was 102F/39C, which makes those so-called 'record temperatures' that the weather forecasters keep reporting look quite mild, if not even chilly 😱 🙂

Oh, almost forgot - House Special! :D

Good moaning! After a few good days an 11.9
Combination of nothing I liked, making a bad choice and having a late sandwich as I was starving and my BG was going down!

The better results of the last few days were although the sister was very young and decided I knew what I was doing. I let myself down yesterday evening!

Another hot one today... 😎

Well done @Northerner on that HS. 🙂
I went one better today with a 6.2. :D

Good morning. I too just missed out @Lisa65 with a 5.1, but I did have a unicorn day.

I struggled keeping up my BGs yesterday, I had 12 units of Fiasp all day, and 8 of those were for breakfast as my morning ratio is 1:5 and I had a bacon roll. I guesstimated I had about 155 grms of carbs all day as I had to keep snacking. I had quite a sedentary day, pootling in the morning, I made the raspberry jam at last, 1.5kgs of raspberries picked in just over a week, plus the ones we’ve eaten. Seven jars of jam. In the afternoon I lounged on my lounger under the shade of the grapevine and read my book. Much the same today, without the bacon butty, think I’ll have to tweak my lunch and tea ratios, at least until the hot weather finishes. 28 degrees forecast for us today, the hottest day of the weekend. Mr Eggy is going on the razz with the Class of ‘76, 2pm in Wetherspoons, there is barely any shade in their beer garden, I hope it’s full and they have to sit inside, dehydration isn’t conducive to his heart health, sticky blood and narrowed arteries, safe to say I’ll be worrying all day. They “forget” to eat, and no water will be consumed. That’s what happens when you get a load of 65 year old kids together! Thank goodness these gatherings are few and far between.

Good news at the RVI yesterday, the neurologist is almost 100% sure granddaughter doesn’t have a spinal cyst, he thinks what they can see on the MRI is a bulging disc. He examined her, had her walking about, lifting her legs up and twisting her body, she coped quite well except when he lifted her left leg up quite high! She would have still been in a lot of pain if there had been a cyst we think. He wants her to strengthen her core to try and prevent it happening again, in the meantime he’s going to get the radiologist to have another look at the scan to make absolutely sure there’s nothing else there. He has signed her off. Mr Eggy went in with her and saw the MRI image, he said it was really good and he could see the bulging disc quite clearly. Fingers crossed all can be sorted.

Lovely photo of Mrs @Homer.
Congratulations @Northerner on your HS.

Have a super Saturday and be careful, it’s gonna be a scorcher.

Here’s my jam, and trusty old jam pan. It’s going to be put through it’s paces again today, Mr Eggy picked 3.5 kgs of redcurrants last night, he cooked them and left them in the jam bag dripping all night. He’s making redcurrant jelly this morning.

5.9

OA this morning followed by the gym and then the opera. This time it’s The Wish Thief, a new work being performed by the RBO Young Opera Company and it’s about living in a perfect world where wishes come true so you have to be careful what you wish for. Or something like that.

So from about midday onwards I’ll be in air conditioned comfort with plug sockets, free WiFi, teas and coffees on tap etc and with a bit of opera thrown in. Bliss!

Morning all. 7.1, much better than the last few days. We're off to Derbyshire for the day. Hubby has a driving experience i bought for him, classic cars. He's chosen to drive Foyle's car from the 1940s. Its going to be hot, hot, hot!

@Robin have a safe journey back.
@eggyg thats good news about your granddaughter.
@ColinUK sounds like a lovely afternoon.
@Northerner congrats on the HS.
@Bloden enjoy your family get together

Morning

3.7 today, text yesterday from the DN to stop metformin as my HbA1C came back as 38, it was 37 last time, but I have stopped the anagliptin, at least I think that is what it was called after that result. Still have to take the canaglifizon.

@Northerner - congratulations on your HS
@Robin - safe journey
@eggyg - brilliant news for your granddaughter, hope mr eggy is able to sit in the shade.
@ColinUK - I will be in air conditioning this morning courtesy of Tesco, so you afternoon sounds much better.

Good morning all a lovely hot sunny day here. Am doing naff all today , i don't like this hot weather as it makes me knee pain worse.
5.0 for me for 2nd day running. You all enjoy your day, be careful out there and make sure you take lots of liquid on board and I don't mean booze
Take care all
Love gail

Morning all and 6.1 for me. Need another basal reduction as I had two alarms during the night.

It's amazing how basal requirements change. In my almost 11 year diabetic voyage I've been on various amounts from 0 to 48 units per day. Regular basal testing is do worth it.

There's some yew and ivy to trim but it'll have to cool down first.

Have a good day everyone.
