Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all - just another grey and dreary day. The wind was vicious last night, but not a breath this morning.

When I switched the PDM on this morning there was a huge red warning saying "Omnipod 5 App error. If this happens again contact Customer Services". It then proceeded as though nothing had happened and BG was 6.1. Slightly worrying though with Christmas looming.

This evening it's the village Carol festival starting at 6:30 with them trailing round all the roads in the village singing. They have a timetable as to where they will be... and then at 8:30 in the local and drawing the winning tickets for the rather sumptuous Christmas hamper. I saw it and frankly there's an outrageous amount of chocolate in it, but nonetheless we have tickets. We shan't be singing, but will proceed to the pub after an early dinner.

Fortunately there's the second half of the Steak and Kidney pie to have, so no cooking. The pie turned out well, the meat was tender and the kidney not too strong. It was the first time I had made suet pastry and it was really good, crispy on top and chewy with all the meat juices below. I was very pessimistic yesterday with my estimation of how many it would serve. There was pie for 4 and I froze enough filling for another pie the same.

@eggyg so very sorry to hear about MIL. Sending positive wishes to you and Mr eggyg.

@Eternal422 I do understand the mental stress you are going through and I am keeping my fingers crossed you can keep the T1 status. I found the treatment as a T2 and the treatment as a T1 once I had been re-diagnosed was like chalk and cheese.

@harbottle I had to look up Mycellium! The mind boggles!

Hoping for a good day for all of you.

Afternoon all. 6.2 this morning and for once, a nice steady line overnight.

Just been to see mum. She's still in hospital but now been moved to a rehab ward so they can get her back on her feet more. She was getting more independent before she went in so she's gone backwards. I'll be glad when she's back home and i think so will she, its been 4 weeks!!

@eggyg sorry to hear about your MIL. Its a worrying time for Mr Eggy and yourself. Sending big hugs and good wishes to you.

@PattiEvans the pie looks delicious.

Take a deep breath and relax dont worry about the sausages they will have wot they have your /love /company is more important

There a fussy lot, ive got an excuse buying the Waitrose ones there high in meat content and lovely. Just sort out the freezer and found a pack that my daughter like so that's sorted and ive got several packs of mine so that's sorted LOL
Tell them what goes into any supermarket sausages (and exaggerate it) and they'll probably go off sausages completely, which will make your life easier 😉. Get them to read 'The Jungle' by Upton Sinclair.

Looks like I maybe forgot to hit the blue button to actually post this morning (oops) 🙄

Good morning 6.0 today (on FP test today) as I managed to dislodge my Libra off my arm whilst sleeping, the lost signal alarm woke me in the middle of the night, I went to scan it and found it had gone, I did find it in the bed, it had detached itself cleanly off the adhesive - which itself was still firmly glued to the underside of my arm

Yesterday evening I had a great meal out at a local Balti House, with a group of good friends (it was a mates Birthday)
as my Tandoori mixed grill arrived I recorded a HS so added a keema naan to my order, I didn’t have a rice accompaniment the tandoori was served on a bed of salad and I had a side of Cauliflower & Mushroom Balti

Officially I’m on a day off from work today, but have a online training session to watch / participate in this afternoon( (bad timing really) and will be going out later to do some work , as I’m technically supposed to be working a half day on Christmas Eve

@Eternal422 although I was slightly confused by your situation regarding your classification and meds ,I can though slightly sympathise with the anxiety your being put through, regarding the possible removal of insulin
My GP (along with a DSN back in the summer) we’re suggesting I could come off insulin
however the Consultant at the hospital is in agreement with me
and for now I keep taking the small amount of insulin twice daily, plus my once weekly Mounjaro Jab (without reintroducing other oral meds) one they mentioned I just didn’t get on with

Congrats to the HS producers yesterday
Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone 😎

I was initially diagnosed some 22 years ago with T2, had 4 years on Metformin and then 1 year on Metformin with Glibenclamide. During this 5 year period my HbA1c climbed from 71 through to 144 at which point I came off the oral meds and went onto insulin which I have been on since then (about 17 years). My HbA1c dropped to 44 and has hovered around there up to 50 ever since.

But now the consultant, having done a C-Peptide test, says that I am more likely T2 than T1 and has suggested trailing oral meds, coming off insulin. Bit bizarre as oral meds didn’t help me at all so why should they now? Today my DSN said there is no pressure for me to come off insulin and she would discuss options with me with regard to possible benefits of oral meds. I’m still leaning towards staying on insulin as it works well for me and is flexible with regard to what and when I eat and so fits in with my lifestyle. I have an appointment with my DSN on Monday face to face so will be able to have a good discussion then. Let’s see what transpires.

5.2
Good (very early!) morning! Woke up for the loo at 2am, then heard the dog moving around which is unusual during the night. I went downstairs to see if she was OK and got there in time to hear ominous retching noises, managed to shove her outside just in time before she puked up last night's dinner.

Anyway she's settled back down but I'm wide awake, so I'm going to have a cup of tea before I try to go back to bed. It's currently 2.53am and blowing a gale outside.

Good morning. Another early 5.7.

Got lots to do, going food shopping for the weekend, Christmas party for the little ones and I’ve got four sleeping over, need supplies! I’ve got up to eight for lunch today, not sure of the exact number so I’ve made a BIG lasagne. Got a focaccia dough doing it’s thing in the bread maker.

Mr Eggy getting some extra sleep, we had a good chat last night about his mother’s possible imminent demise, he’s ok, he’s prepared for it. She’s still not improving, just sleeping all the time. Team meeting today about the next steps, ie where to move her to, if and when there’s any improvement. It won’t be soon as there’s a flu outbreak on the ward and no one is leaving. There’s also Norovirus on some of the other wards which are closed to visitors! Just what we need.

Have a good day all.

Daughter sent this last night. Our four month old grandson. Cute gingerbread man. Looking forward to seeing him today. Lots to be grateful for.

Morning all. 7.8 for me on waking, after a flat and restful night (mostly - I had a few chocolates about 30mins before bed and underestimated the effect, so needed to take a 1u corrective dose of NovoRapid to bring my BG back in range for the night). Naughty, I know, but 'tis the season to be jolly 🙂

PS: Just started a new Dexcom sensor, which I put on at the start of the grace period for my previous sensor. This is the first time that the new sensor shows the exact same readings (for the part 3hrs) as the previous one. Here's hoping that this pattern holds true for the full 10 days - I have had more sensor issues than I would like this year so do not want another one for a while.

7.5 this morning. Lowest morning reading to date. Went to bed on 8.5 however my wife cooked tea quicker than I expected so took my bolus slightly late.

Like a few others on here I find I respond best to NR if I take it 25-30 mins before food and last night was about 10 mins so I expected a little bit of a drop in the night.

Nothing exciting planned for the day. Got a few video meetings at work and then tonight I've got to start clearing out dumpster of a dining room in readiness for Christmas otherwise I'm a dead man!! :D

Morning all, 5.6 here.
Had a very sensible review yesterday with the Diabetes nurse at the surgery, she’s a lot more clued up on Type 1 than the last one. The phone call took all of 6 minutes! But in that time she ticked her boxes, agreed to get the Dr to upgrade my prescription to the Libre 2+, asked me if I had checked if my ketone strips were in date (they weren’t, I went and looked while I was on the phone) saying a lot of people's go out of date if they haven’t needed to use them, so a new pack of those being prescribed, asked me if I needed any information leaflets sent, like sick day rules or driving, said no, I kept up to date via this forum, which she seemed pleased about, congratulated me on all my blood tests being in range, All in all, a useful call.
Then I went to meet my friend and had a very muddy walk, today daughter and I are going into Oxford to look at the Christmas market, and have some retail therapy and lunch. Then after that I’d better knuckle down and think about household chores!

Awesome. Early days for me but my DSNs have all been brilliant. At the moment I'm having follow up calls every few days whilst I get used to things. They always call when they say they will and are very thorough on checking everything is at it should be at this stage.

Very impressed. When the NHS works will it's absolutely the best 🙂

Morning an 8.1 and a bit of DP after my home made Cheese and Onion Pie last night so happy enough.
We had what we thought was a hissing noise from the fridge but after waking up to a pool of water in kitchen and taking fridge/ freezer out if it is actually a leaky pipe so trying to book an engineer but have been told can’t come until tomorrow.
Will call them again at 8am and try and speak to someone to get earlier as having water off all day is no fun.More inconvenient than anything but a reminder if taking the things like regular water supply for granted.
Not sure I can go out today and leave wife at home so may WFH today but see If we can get someone today.

Morning folks. 7.4 here.

Had a couple of hours in Llandeilo with my bezzie yesterday - visited the antique market (it’s a rabbit warren of knick-knacks and old furniture), then a very nice lunch in one of the cafés. The car park was rammed but the streets were empty, weird. Then I drove the back roads to Carmarthen for some Xmas shopping...nearly finished! Him indoors wants a silver bracelet - if I can’t get it locally not sure where!

Sending (((hugs))) @eggyg. Cute pic!

Morning

4.2 had my first mince pie of the season, will probably only have one more the whole festive season. Did well with my cake and wrapping yesterday, more of the same today as I made 8 cakes, I always ask myself why when it comes to decorating them. Will go the crem as my dad would have been 90 today, so he will get some flowers.

Thinking of you @eggyg and Mr eggyg at this time.
