Before Tea/Evening Meal

9.6 tonight. Was a little cautious with my lunch dose after a couple of hypos from being a bit ambitious.

Also went to test my BG and realised I'd left the test strips out of the little bag. Luckily my wife was at Meadowhall (shopping centre) which is near my work so she was able to grab me some and drop them off.

Not much planned for tonight. Some morse code and some practice on my RC flight simulator maybe but nothing more exciting than that

.-.. .. -.- .

6.4 followed by spag bol using zero noodles, a low impact meal

tonight (as Mikey would say) a HeinzSpecial 5.7 for me

@dannybgoode just picked up on something so thought would share
as I know you’ve posted (elsewhere maybe) about your trying to convince GP/ DSN to get you prescribed CGM as you felt it would help, make sure you make them aware of instances like today when you speak to your GP

@Satan’s little helper, had to laugh at that BAZZILLLL :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yes I will - thank you. I have a mental note of the various points I want to raise and I'll this to the list. I'll also give the GP the option to make it the DS consultant's decision as they may feel more comfortable 'following orders'.

Everyone I've dealt with so far have been very reasonable so I am hoping it'll be straightforward.

An interesting thing about CW is it is very much an aural thing. You'd be surprised how hard I find it to read.

It is a good challenge for me 🙂

I asked Google to convert the dots and dashes to sound and it gave me "di-da-di-dit di-dit da-di-dah". I think you need to read it aloud FAST!

Yes I do 'read' it in dits and dahs. Last night I was teaching my morse code class and one of my students couldn't hear my CW keyer so I had to speak it instead.

Worked pretty well 🙂

Evening all!
My new strips were delivered not long after I had a little experiment with some Ryvita Crackerbread.
Went from 6.8 to 10.9! So that won’t be happening again.

Wanted to make sure it was coming down and it dropped quite quickly to 5.2
Then got paranoid thinking the unit was broken because I don’t think I’ve had a 5 yet so tested again maybe an hour later and was at 4.9.

Not sure if body is adjusting well to low carb and bouncing back quickly or if I need to change the batteries or something.

Apologies for the ramble 🙂

How soon after eating the cracker bread was this reading?

If it quickly dropped down 5.2 and did so within 2 hours then surely this is fine to be eating?

Ahhhh. I just saw 10 and panicked
It was definitely within 2hrs.

If you start testing before 2 hours you are going to be rejecting more foods than you need to. The aim is to be under 8.5 after 2 hours.
How many did you have and how many carbs was it as that is useful to keep a record of.
It is better to standardise on a regime of testing rather than something random as you cannot then make comparisons as easily.

Noted! 🙂
Still getting used to it all so still feeling silly when I don’t ‘get it’ - especially when it’s something so simple.

It's an 8.1 for me this fine evening.

6.3 before a meal of spag bol and konjac noodles, they are OK with a substantial sauce. It's pretty much all I've eaten today, the sicky feeling I had this morning soon went, but I didn't feel hungry at lunch time.
Lots of drama at work lately with the manager leaving and the owner being arrested! I have a feeling we might all be out of a job soon. I don't mind because I'm planning to retire soon anyway, but I have lot of younger colleagues who might find it hard to get work.
