Thanks Elaine, baby bells have been lurking in my fridge but gone out of my head. Love salted pistachios but they have gone to back of cupboard. Hope you are feeling better. There are some dreadful lurgies out there waiting, and I think because there has been so much going on at work to concentrate on, i went back too quick.good idea about the competition and reward. Both of us are trying to support each other, and my daughter is a great support as well.hope you are better love Carol x
I'm fine thanks Carol, not a lurgy as such, just not sleeping well, womens problems, shoulders still not right, constant headaches. Just felt like I had no energy and was very light headed, luckily it was on my days off. Felt OK when I went back to work Wednesday. Tired today not much sleep again, my shoulder and neck playing up. Mr Eggy just gone to pick the "little darlings" up, haven't got them too long today but then to go for the "big" shop as didn't do it on days off! Oh joy! Take care and keep your chin up, and do as much whinging on here as you want. X x

Sounds a brilliant plan! Ending you work day with a walk down to the sea sounds great and I always find walks in nature help the feel good factor. I can feel your determination and wish you a successful day.
Thanks, and the walk was great, even with a running nose

Well done Carolg for taking control of your disorder 🙂 It is not easy and we all have slip ups and bad days, but it is like riding a horse, when you fall off just get back on. You are doing well and now have the motivation to bring you BG levels down. Keep us posted on how you are doing. This forum has been such and inspiration and help to me I will always be grateful to the kind people on here, they are brilliant 🙂. Must say I envy you being able to go down to the sea, must be fabulous. Good luck! 🙂
Hi happy dog. It's age old story, what you have you sometimes don't appreciate. Thanks for your support,and I agree, people here are brilliant and thanks to all for their support

Wee update. BG 13.6 when up at 1020 and before breakfast of yogurt, rasps, blueberries and nutty granola (all weighed n recorded) now 15.6. Cupboards and fridge emptied and using fitness pal again.its a start !!

Hi @Carolg I've just seen this. I'm sorry for your struggles. You're doing great to recognise and ask for support. The suggestion about a BG log, do you know about the project through Dundee Uni? I thought I saw it in here, but maybe it was the practise nurse... I use their webpage My Diabetes My Way. It's really very good. Also I found that I really depend a lot on the frequent testing (pre & post meal) to keep my motivated. It helps me see progress with my weight as well, because I know if my testing results are reasonable that day, my weight loss will more likely be on target. I have to travel to the infirmary to be weighed, as hour or so each way. I don't do that very often. So my testing, even though it isn't probably a direct correlation or cause, the two seem to go together. I guess that control is control. Also, I use fitness pal as well, so counting carbs seems so much easier!

I have access to my diabetes my way, and am using my fitness pal SadhbhFiadh and do test my BG.mas you say it is good to keep you motivated. What a journey to get weighed. Luckily(or not) before or at diagnosis I lost 3 stone rapidly, and although put on a bit, it is back off slowly. You are right, control is control, and mine just went "bye bye" and life got in the way. Interestingly though, since posting and the support, advice and interest, although I'm feeling really rough, I'm not reaching for comfort carbs. Even before going back to bed at lunch time, I had a bit of toast but 1 slice whole meal, not two, and resisted jam. Thanks for your help. Have a good evening

Eh by golly. Just a great bit of info, but 1 9.6 pre meal does not make everything ok, but wow, first under 10 for months. Made a lovely omelette with onion,peppers, mushrooms n cheese, and resisted putting the whole lot on the plate. Here goes yum yum. Left overs for breakfast

Morning everyone. BG 13.6 this morning but had a slice whole meal toast and wee drop jam before bed. Still squeeking and coughing so taking it easy. Have a good day

Carol...its such hard work sometimes...just when you think you've got the little b***r under control it jumps up and bites us squarely in the backside...you'll get your rhythm back...and then those numbers will come down...sorry to hear you're not feeling too good...just be kind to yourself today...feet up...relax...if I'd been nearer would have popped over with some of my home made chicken soup (hope you're not vegetarian🙂🙂 if so apologies in advance)...guaranteed to give that 'DiaBetty' a run for her money...take good care of yourself.

Thanks bubbsie. Chicken soup would have been yummie, thanks for the thought.Didn't see this yesterday. Stayed in and out of bed yesterday and am staying off today. Yuckie cough, still mrs squeek. Will have to aim for a wee shower cause I don't want to be with me.have a good day after being up so early

Hope you get lots of restorative rest and recuperation Carol - feel better soon! 🙂 Try not to comfort eat {{{HUGS}}}

Staying at home resting Carol is the thing to do...no idea what you/we can take for the cough...none of the traditional remedies are ideal...possibly a sip of whiskey in hot water with a little lemon juice?...hope you're on the mend...as for the shower...I'm sure it's not that bad...but a good hot shower will hopefully perk you up a bit...and make you feel more comfortable.

Oh Carol wish there was something I could do...even if you feel better in the morning...why not ring the GP anyway...just to get some advice...are you able to eat?...so important to try and get some food down if you can...hoping the cough eases...awful...and exhausting ...keep us updated...and take care of yourself.

Hi bubbsie. Thanks for your kind wishes. I am eating, mostly cereal or toast today, but my daughter is on the way to shops with a list to drop bits n pieces off( but she's not getting over my doorstep) think I will take your advice, I can phone gp in morning for emergency appointment . This seems to be a round 2 of the previous viral thing, and I'm not alone in getting it. Won't be going back to work as quickly I don't think, we have loads of vulnerable people so can't pass this on. Found some Vicks in medicine box, so smelly mcgrelly here I come

Carol relieved to hear you are eating...and as for the Vicks great...just the smell of it makes me feel like I'm on the mend...yes...I would ring the GP in the morning...likely you never really got rid of the last one completely...possibly a chest infection (I hope not)...they do tend you leave you with nothing for them nowadays...but you been labouring with it now for a little while...maybe some antibiotics are necessary (hope you can take them)...no don't go back to work...need sometime to recover...good to hear you've got some help...wrap up...feet up...Vic's Vapour rub up...take care...Barbara
