So glad you're improved, but you'll not exhaust yourself with all those tasks! The washing alone (and all that ironing) - the thought of it - would tire me!
Ironing is still that dirty word, oh help, I feel a relapse coming on lol

Just an update. Feeling much better, still got cough and a mini squeek, but much had 2 days holiday, went to Edinburgh to see stage shop the Commitments which was really good., and a great meal. Late night home and a lazieish day yesterday. Now for reality, back to work for 3 days then holiday for 1 week.
On front for diabetes, here goes for a change. Got first packed lunch ready and picked sprouts out garden for with tea tonight-hopefully no bugs . Have a good day everyone

Glad you are on the mend. My friend went to see the Commitments a couple of weeks ago she enjoyed it too.

BG this morning 16.0. Retinopathy screening yesterday- still to get graded results but all looks good and no drops needed. Now feeling better, so trying for better food choices, exercise etc. Hope everyone else is feeling better

Ah sure, you will be able to focus now on the choices, I know it's sometimes not fun, but you can do it. 🙂

Good to hear you are feeling better Carol...now you can get your food plan into action...I'm not a great exerciser (too many moving parts nowadays)...however...I walk the poor dog relentlessly...that helps me such a lot...just for curiosity I test before I walk him...then about half an hour after I've finished...always surprised how it lowers my BG and gets relieves stress/tension...good luck...and be great to hear your progress...have a good weekend.

Had a delicious meal. Lasagna made with turkey mince and used sliced courgette instead of pasta.suprised it was so nice

I've heard of using omlettes as pasta sheets for lasagne. Never tried it myself though.

Augergine is the best thing for a pasta-less lasagne. You slice it and then saute the slices in olive oil before making up the dish in layers, and baking it. It's a classic Italian dish in fact, and very satisfying.

Not if you don't like aubergine though LOL - whereas I do like courgette - so I vote for Carol's version myself! Yours is more like beef moussaka than lasagne LOL

No white sauce in the Italian version. I first had it at a supper party on the way back to Milan from Brescia with my then inamorato, at some friends of his. The top layer was aubergine, slightly crispy. It was divine, and very Italian.

Sounds lovely but I have never cooked aubergine I don't think. Will maybe try that next time

Hi all. Well no drum roll for me, just a clout for my HbA1c of ....115. Got a new med to add to the cocktail. Empagliflozin 10 mg. can look forward to maybe thrush, maybe weight loss, etc etc. Going to think about my lifestyle. Grrr back to where I was 16 months ago.

Hi carol, sorry to hear that. Hope you get on better with empagliflozin than I am. I'm on the max dose 25mg, made no difference to my weight (thanks to also being on gliclizide) and not much difference to my blood sugars. X

Sorry about that stitch. What will they try next? I can only hope that it works. i.m lucky that my weight has come down to a good level, but a bit worried that it apparently can make you weee. I've got a bit of the brain to bladder "you need to go", bladder then says "what now...right away boss"

Very sorry to hear this Carol :( If you don't get on well with the new medication, do let the doctors know in no uncertain terms, there are lots of other medications they can use 🙂 Put the past behind you and start afresh, and call on us whenever you need some help or support {{{HUGS}}}

Thanks Alan.Don't see the doc. Nurse said they could up pioglitazone but that might not work and cause weight gain. This one might work so get bloods in 3 months. Giving myself a wee shake and hoping for the best. Thinking positive.

I have an appointment (finally) with the diabetes team at my local hospital on 5th may, so we'll see what happens after that.
