Hi Gail. I believe there is a sequel to Bend it like Beckham soon. I am not a football fan but I really enjoyed the film too.

Good afternoon folks. 6.7 for me this morning. Only had blood test for HbA1c at the hospital this morning. Apparently the cut off result is 65 so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hubby did some shopping and nearly forgot to collect me. Luckily I texted him.o_O:rofl:. He drove me straight to my Tai Chi class and I was a few minutes late. We did observe a 2 minutes silence for VJ veterans part way through the class.

Hope you are feeling better @Grannylorraine
Good news about your husband's medication, @Pam123 .You could certainly do with a nice holiday after all the upheaval of a new kitchen installation.

Really warm here again. 28 degC. We need to collect our prescriptions shortly as we forgot to pick them up after my Tai Chi class. Looking forward to sea bass for dinner tonight. A nice treat we don't have very often
Have a good Friday and a better weekend everyone. Take care xx

I love sea bass. In my youth, I would go with a mate to his parents' home in Ireland and spend all night fishing for bass. Glorious.

13:12 BS 8.1 But, a flatline while I slept. Had a last minute before bed sweet & biscuits as BS had just slipped into the 4’s after a very, very slow drift down, that brought me up to the 7/8’s line & stayed there while I slept! 🙂

So, that tells me that 49 basal is the number & stuck in it again on the left thigh! It didn’t bleed this time but, still hurt a lot: both sides of me feeling sore, bruised & tender now when sitting down as yesterday’s right thigh is still sore; definitely can’t do that long term & using the 6mm from tomorrow!

I’ll call the health centre & ask about giving me the usual 6mm for the basal but, only 1 box as only for basal & 2 boxes of the 8mm for NR per month: only 1 injection a day for basal; 2, 3, usually, or sometimes 4 injections a day for NR?

And normal service DP rise, instead of the abnormal drop, until I ate breakfast so, I started higher & went higher but, pretty happy as basal is more or less there! Once that stable base is back, I can slowly work my way down a bit to wake with decent, mid range numbers & have some decent sleep at decent times? But, on the sleep front, I’ve never really stayed in a regular pattern for long!

Afternoon all.8.9 for me this morning.Started going high yesterday afternoon for some strange reason .By 9.pm it was 12 and heading upward.Took a few correction doses during night .Didn't make a lot of difference.9.2 now .Any ways highlight of the week now .Go and do food shopping in marks and Spencers. All rock and roll eh Enjoy your day people

We decided against going for a curry as its been boiling all day and none of us wanted to get dressed in proper clothes and go out. So we have rescheduled for two weeks time.
Meanwhile I ordered myself a Chinese, I got enough to have tomorrow as well.

In the silly o’clock zone again as I virtually slept ALL day yesterday & was only awake briefly to eat: all that lost sleep HAD to catch up with me eventually; got higher BS each time I woke but, that, in a way gave me even more confidence to sleep my fill; definitely NOT going low! Each time I ate I just underestimated the NR so, BS went higher as it stayed flat while I slept! 😳

Finally been awake for hours now & it seems that I’ve slept my fullest I can?

I finally got my correction right for, yet another breakfast as they’ve all been breakfast after waking up, & got my BS after active NR to just above range, BS 7.5, & it’s stayed there pretty flat ish for a few hours now so, definitely know basal is right! :D And now got my higher BS, highest waking was BS 12.6, about in range so, it should be much easier to stay in range now? 🙂:thankyou::D Just my body clock is out of whack but, I can work on that! 🙄

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

I may be a bit distracted next week as the new cdrama Moonlit Reunion starts on Monday 18/08/25 on Disney+ & WeTV? o_O will have to do for a Distracted emoji!

Morning all, 5.2 this morning, but a new dexcom one so may be a little erratic, although I find the dexcom very reliable and not as unpredictable for the first 24hrs as the libre can be sometimes.

Morning all, 6.9 after a sweaty night, although this morning feels nice and cool. Last night I ordered what I thought was a low carb meal from the Chinese, the spare ribs were great but the salt and pepper chicken had some kind of batter coating on it, plus they included a bag of prawn crackers which I shared with the dog. Managed to keep the spike below 10 and added an extra 2 units correction at bedtime as levels were slow to come down 🙂 probably protein rise from all that meat!
Last night I watched a Turkish film on Netflix called My Father's Violin. I try to watch Turkish media to improve my listening skills. This film was very soppy and sentimental, typical of a lot of Turkish TV unfortunately. I think I've already watched all the series and films on Netflix which aren't like that, so I'm having to plumb the depths now!
Congratulations on your HS @agentmole

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. 🙂 7.0 for me.

Yesterday turned out to be a proper scorcher after a misty & chilly start. Looks like more of the same today. After a dog walk, I'll be doing more clearing and pruning in the orchard.

Morning all, 5.8 here. Had a long day yesterday, stayed over the previous night in Exeter, managed a lovely walk along the canal towpath after breakfast, then went to the funeral and caught up with wider family. Then began the long trek home up the M5, 4 hours driving when it should have been 2.5 max. I felt a tad overdressed when we stopped for a break at a service station, in my black top and smart black accessories, amongst all the shorts and teeshirt clad holiday brigade.

Morning all. A close 5.1.

Fresher yesterday initially, then got hotter as the day went on. We went for a walk about 2ish and the sun came out, we were roasted. Paddling pool and water guns came out when we got back. We even ate our tea outside which was nice. Looking and feeling similar today. May walk to youngest daughters’ to see Zara and Eden, she’s waiting for a sofa delivery and we, and their big cousins can occupy them whilst this is happening, son in law is working this morning, just waiting for a time slot before we make arrangements. Having goulash for tea so need to get cracking on that before we go anywhere!

Have super, sunny Saturday.

Here’s 7 year old Sadie enjoying her sea food tagliatelle last night. She’s a pro at dealing with mussels.

How about for a bit of fun if people who test in the mornings post their waking levels? I think it would be interesting to see what the average works out at after a week 🙂

I'll start with mine - I was 6.0 when I woke up this morning 🙂

(please don't let me be the only person to enter one! 😉)
6.5 this morning but still cruising on 7 day average of 5.5. Good bedtime and fasting figures at the mo but HbA1c coming up next week.

Morning Freesia,
We always give our dogs some prawn crackers if we enjoy our Chinese.
A 7.1 for me after our Pizza which was delicious last night so good news is that I am having flattish lines overnight but do need to ensure I get a lower average back on track.
Hopefully the slightly cooler weather should mean I can use exercise as another way of managing the BG which I tend not to do when it is so hot.
Have a lunch out planned tomorrow and we will go out today so just looking to potter about which is perfect for me.

Good morning all hope we are all well and happy in life. It's a dull start to the day here in Norfolk. Am going out on Indie later just for a coffee and to watch the world go by(my favorite hobby).
BG 8.3 (6 cherrys 50gm salted peanuts and a banana) hangs head in shame whoops never mind it was a one off, a Mr Tesco delivered last night one off
You all havea good safe day what ever you do. Take care all. Special wishes to you all extra special to anyone on their own or struggling
Love Gail
I wish you all the colours of the rainbow except blue
