Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all - a grey one again.

I haven't been posting this week - too tired

14.8 this morning. You can skip the rest of this saga, but this has been my week so far - On Tuesday I had to go for an Xray of my left lung to see if I was recovering appropriately. The operative refused to tell me anything. Apparently the medics will tell me when they know.... oh yes?

On Wednesday morning I went to the Chiropractor who did indeed give me a very good working over (in a gentle way, but thorough). He said that I was in a bit of a mess. I went straight from there to my friend's house as she had invited me for lunch. She had put on some lovely giant prawns in their shells and some crusty bread, followed by a nice cheeseboard. I'm not eating much since I came out of hospital, in fact I ate embarrassingly little on that occasion (I am losing weight at the rate of nearly half a pound a day which is a bit worrying, but I can't force myself). After lunch I asked if we could go sit in the sitting room as the straight dining chairs were hurting my back. I promptly fell asleep on her sofa!!! I kept waking and nodding off until I rang J to come pick me up. After which I fell asleep on our own sofa. I had 1 slice of toast for dinner.

On Thursday I had my retinopathy check at the local leisure centre. Apart from the time I was there I spent the whole day intermittently sleeping on the sofa. Just ate a slice of toast and a small piece of cheese. Went to bed at 9:45 and slept like a log until 8:30.

On friday we were supposed to be taking a friend out for lunch to thank her for looking after our house whilst we were away. Unfortunately she was not well so cried off. I was raring to go (a real change) so suggested J and I went somewhere for lunch. As I got out of the shower the Libre 3+ I had put on the day before fell off my arm. Subsequently 2 more Libre 3+ would not start (both saying "try again in 10 minutes") - neither did - so 3 Libres were wiped out in one fell swoop and I had none. Abbott are going to expedite replacements to me but they won't be here until Tuesday earliest.

Meantime yesterday Ypsomed apparently couldn't tell me how to operate the Ypsopump manually (I think I may have got through to the wrong department who would only tell me to talk to my health care person) so I am once again injecting and finger pricking. I am sick of it..... the Libres are so unreliable! I feel completely deflated and lost.

Anyway, glad to hear @eggyg's big day went well - congrats to anyone who got an HS too.

Take care hun sorry to hear ur not well. We are all rooting for you love and hugs xxxx

5.6 for me on a sunless Berkshire morning. About to settle down to watch the 2nd Lions test against the Wallabies, then later Emma Raducanu in her semi-final. If she makes the final she could be facing the player she beat to win the US Open back in 2021. That would be some rematch.

Our eldest is on his way to Exeter, by train, to watch Swansea City in their pre-season friendly against Exeter City. Didn't make any sense to drive, the train is quicker. I dropped him off at the station just before 10.

@Colin g congrats on yesterday's HS
@eggyg pleased that you and Mr @eggyg had such a lovely time. Love the photos, too.

Not sure what we're doing in between Rugby & Tennis but my wife mentioned walking into town.

Enjoy your Saturday.

And a 5.6 for me as well on another wet morning...

@PattiEvans i'm so sorry, you're having a bit of a week! I'm sure it will take time to build yourself back to full health. Take care. Big hugs

Hope you start feeling better sooner rather than later. Your body is healing after the op and it can be a long haul. All the napping will be helping I assure you. Big hugs. Xx

6.4 at 0630 just three hours after a low alarm of 4.1 (ate 1 JB). Had a late brekkas at about 0930 then we set off for the Dukes in Lancaster to see the original Quatermass Xperiment - we both really enjoyed see it again after all these years.
We then followed it up by having lunch in the Quartermasters'. We were expecting small portions, shock! A big breakfast. So big that neither of us could finish!

@eggyg Fantastic photos, really good to hear that you had a good time and experience. We got Handfasted in 2013 by a group that we both ran called the Morecambe Circle (broke up sadly about eight years back). Always quite the experience though.

@PattiEvans Sleep is good for you after your unpleasant time under the knife, may take a while to heal though. Good luck.

I hope you all have a good 'rest-of' the day.

Oh BTW way I've lost a three kilos, now sitting at 86.6 Kg (191 Lb). This is the lowest its been in nearly a quarter of a century! My happy-state is progressing.

Good afternoon folks. I didn't post yesterday as I felt really unwell. Woke up with stomach ache and nausea and feeling really lightheaded. BG was 10 and ran high all day each time I checked. Finally vomited around 6pm and felt slightly better. Only ate a few mouthfuls of dinner.
Still feeling the same today but didn't throw up so that was a blessing. BG 8.9 today and running in low double figures again.
. Had to go for opthalmic consultation this morning. The surgeon said my lenses were extremely cloudy and asked why I left it so long. I pointed out that Sept 24 the right eye was showing mild signs and although the left eye was bad they were going to review in 12 months time. I contacted the optician in May as sight was getting significantly worse....and here we are today. Then he said cataract removal for left eye would be 2 to 3 months and right eye 5 to 6 months. Anyway enough of my grumbling. There are plenty of people worse than me.

Congratulations on your HS yesterday @Colin g
Belated anniversary wishes @eggyg and Brian. The photos are lovely.
Sorry to hear you had a bad week @PattiEvans . It will take a while to get your energy and stamina back.
Also sending hugs to @MikeyBikey as your convalescence continues at home

Have a good weekend folks and hope you get a bit of sunshine. Take care xx

late again, 4.5 this morning didn't get round to posting yesterday the last 2 days have been hectic ordering what we need for the new kitchen, we've splashed out big time but you only live once, everything is coming next week as much as I am looking forward to the end result, its going to be a few weeks of utter chaos, the main worry is having no cooker for a while, we have bought a new cooker as well but hubby has to level the kitchen floor then lay new laminate floor before the new cooker can go in its going to be fun

When we had our kitchen done involving a new extension as well we managed OK with the microwave and George Forman and a plug in steamer. Now the airfryer would be a huge bonus and you can get small plug in induction hot plates which are reasonably priced.
It depends on how long you think it will take. It was a couple of months we were in limbo.
It all sounds very exciting having a new kitchen.

we have a steamer and an air fryer and microwave hadn't thought of getting a induction hot plate that's a good idea, it will be my hubby and our daughter who will do most of the work unfortunately I cant do much because of my mobility but I will do what I can, hubby thinks about 3 weeks but I think he's pushing it, he is hoping the chemo tablets won't effect him to badly they start on Monday.

Morning a 7.6 for me after a higher night but within range.
Did a big Tesco shop yesterday which is home from home for me but one of benefits is a lot of Club card vouchers.
Then quick call at Garden centre and bit more time in garden and in fact had afternoon tea in front garden which I rarely do but is peaceful under our big tree despite Road outside.
Then a lazy evening but out today for lunch and try and get a walk in today so enjoy all

A 5.9 for me to start the week (or end the week depending on how you look at things!)

Sorry to hear about your fatigue and tech woes @PattiEvans :(

Best wishes for your husband’s treatment @Pam123
