Morning all - a grey one again.
I haven't been posting this week - too tired
14.8 this morning. You can skip the rest of this saga, but this has been my week so far - On Tuesday I had to go for an Xray of my left lung to see if I was recovering appropriately. The operative refused to tell me anything. Apparently the medics will tell me when they know.... oh yes?
On Wednesday morning I went to the Chiropractor who did indeed give me a very good working over (in a gentle way, but thorough). He said that I was in a bit of a mess. I went straight from there to my friend's house as she had invited me for lunch. She had put on some lovely giant prawns in their shells and some crusty bread, followed by a nice cheeseboard. I'm not eating much since I came out of hospital, in fact I ate embarrassingly little on that occasion (I am losing weight at the rate of nearly half a pound a day which is a bit worrying, but I can't force myself). After lunch I asked if we could go sit in the sitting room as the straight dining chairs were hurting my back. I promptly fell asleep on her sofa!!! I kept waking and nodding off until I rang J to come pick me up. After which I fell asleep on our own sofa. I had 1 slice of toast for dinner.
On Thursday I had my retinopathy check at the local leisure centre. Apart from the time I was there I spent the whole day intermittently sleeping on the sofa. Just ate a slice of toast and a small piece of cheese. Went to bed at 9:45 and slept like a log until 8:30.
On friday we were supposed to be taking a friend out for lunch to thank her for looking after our house whilst we were away. Unfortunately she was not well so cried off. I was raring to go (a real change) so suggested J and I went somewhere for lunch. As I got out of the shower the Libre 3+ I had put on the day before fell off my arm. Subsequently 2 more Libre 3+ would not start (both saying "try again in 10 minutes") - neither did - so 3 Libres were wiped out in one fell swoop and I had none. Abbott are going to expedite replacements to me but they won't be here until Tuesday earliest.
Meantime yesterday Ypsomed apparently couldn't tell me how to operate the Ypsopump manually (I think I may have got through to the wrong department who would only tell me to talk to my health care person) so I am once again injecting and finger pricking. I am sick of it..... the Libres are so unreliable! I feel completely deflated and lost.
Anyway, glad to hear @eggyg's big day went well - congrats to anyone who got an HS too.
