Group 7-day waking average?

Good lovely forum folks. The sun is shining and the first load of laundry is in the washer. Also 6.8 for me today  first time back in the sixes for FBG since mid March. Blood test for HbA1c booked for 12th May. Fingers crossed it will go downwards not upwards.
The concrete blocks we collected yesterday are huge and very heavy. I could only lift the single ones. Hubby lifted the doubles. 17 in all and we did 2 trips so we didn't overload the car. He also moved half a dozen large rocks in the garden as well so his arms were like noodles last night.
More shredding and weeding today.

Have a great weekend everyone and hope you see some sunshine too.

6.3 for me today.

I think I'm see a bit of a pattern. If I eat a meal with a lot of carbs, I almost react as though I'm not diabetic (I mean, I do get a spike but it resolves quickly and I've never had a reading in double figures in all the time I've been testing, including the times when I've had a CGM) but then my baseline readings are the high end of normal for a looonnng time (several days). I presume that I knock my body out of whatever fat burning it's doing, and it takes its sweet time getting back there!

Sadly, I do think my hba1c will be higher than last time, when I get it checked next month because of it.

Today may not be the best day to get back to the low carb lifestyle 100% anyway!

12 of us are going out for my birthday meal (early, as my birthday isn't until Friday but trying to match everyone's schedules was hard). I'm very excited. We're off to Miller and Carter - which I love and chose deliberately as having a lot of good lower carb options but the desserts don't fit that criteria and I might just have one today. Maybe, I'll be too full of steak!

Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend with whatever you're up to.

Morning all and it was 'Your sensor is not working. Please replace your sensor ' 5.7 on the finger and sensor replaced.

Went to the pharmacy to collect some Novo Rapid. The surgery had asked them to supply flex pens if cartridges not available. I got a box if each. The pens will come on handy when I'm on my travels.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, 5.8 this morning's basal before dropping off again for three hours! Eventually woke up to the Gregorian chants of the Vatican, the city looks extremely busy.

BG have been flat-lining 4.5/5 all night, but no hypo's which makes a change, last night's dinner must have been conducive, Chicken Vegetable soup from the slow-cooker followed by freshly cut pineapple slices - which was lovely since I could manage my gnashers to masticate and they didn't spike me.

Coughing and sniffling this morning with yet another temperature (it only lasts a couple of hours, thankfully) to make me uncomfortable, I'll probably have the headache later - this has been going on for a couple of weeks, funny cold virus!

Enjoy your day and I hope for some sunshine to break though...

Afternoon all. A 4.8 for me much earlier today.

Have a great rest of the day folks.

A Very G’Day Mates & hope you’re having a Wonderful Day? 😉

Took too long to respond to midday alarm & dozed off again! 🙄 So, 13:03 BS 8.7 that’s better & because I did that still horizontal in bed before I went to the loo, I just did the after the FOTF after going to the loo, basal & pills 13:24 BS 10.9 proving what I’d already noticed before: I don’t usually scan before & after loo like that & just go with the one waking scan either one depending on how imminent the call of nature is! o_O

Got last night’s dinner dose before bed right & I’m starting 2mmol lower while still being over the range is starting to settle & come down so, stuck with 60 basal, for now! 🙂

My trip up to the hospital for blood tests is coming up on Monday & I’m considering taking the bus up, 😱 I can’t remember when I’ve last taken a bus!!! 😱😱😱 Maybe not both ways but, one way with the bus that goes past my front door well, need to walk about 350 steps up the lane to the main road, & take a taxi back from the hospital. For two reasons:- 1 the appointment is for 15:15 & I can take the 13:34 bus & be an hour early & a lot of times, in the past, I get seen sooner if they can fit me as I’m there anyway & 2 weather I get seen early or not there isn’t a bus back until after 17:30 that only stops at the town centre & it’s about a half mile walk back home! I think I can manage the 350 steps up the lane & then the twice as long 700 steps from the bus-top to the hospital as I can break it up & rest if needs be but, definitely not the half a mile back! It’s not fully back to pre covid days of taking the bus both ways be it the bus past the house or the town centre bus depending on timings but, it’s a pretty huge step forward from these last 5 years! And if it’s not too taxing I’ll do it again 3 days later on Thursday for the face to face review?

Oh yes! I completely forgot to post this earlier & only thought of it now just after eating breakfast! 😳

Has anyone heard of taking black cumin seed oil aka black seed oil for inflammation, joint pain, osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. Some doctors recommending over Ibuprofen or Votarol, can’t spell & Siri isn’t helping me, as being far more effective. I bought the cold pressed capsules from Amazon yesterday & they are being delivered today. Apparently you can buy the oil in liquid form from the likes of Holland & Barrett on the street or the cold pressed oil capsules from Amazon as it quite strong tasting. Apart from the still intermittent pain from my injured wrist I do also, have, for a few years now, rheumatoid arthritis or, at least rheumatism & thought I would give it a go?

My day so far has continued to be 2mmol lower than yesterday & hopefully carry on like that for the rest of the day? :D:thankyou:

Ah! Silent delivery man, definitely didn’t ring the doorbell as I had both doors open to hear, delivered said capsules just now while I was posting still in the kitchen! They smell very strong in the bottle so, I’m glad I didn’t have to taste that in the liquid form. Just took one 1000mg capsule & I’ll see how it goes in the next 90 days; one daily?

I fell and broke my fibula about four years ago. Tripped in the bathroom in the middle of the night. As a result of the fall my leg was plastered and hopped off to be seen by the arthritis department and then prescribed Alendronic Acid tablets once a week. No idea if they have any effect on my rheumatoid arthritis or not. I’m pretty stiff. I just keep taking them.

Lanny, I hope the capsules work.

Morning all. 🙂 8.0 for me.

I was glued to my phone yesterday afternoon waiting for my DSN to phone. She eventually emailed to say she’d just been too busy and she’ll phone on Monday. The DSNs are all lovely and work really hard, but I’m pretty fed up by now - yesterday was another day of spiking up to 17 before crashing down two hours later...this is no way to live.

Anyhoo, hubby wants to go exterior paint shopping <groaning emoji> so I need to distract him with something more ‘important’...going out for a coffee, for example, much more interesting!
Did you read my message about it being the Omnipod 5 algorhythm rather than your insulin? I've fought this for 10 months. I am so grateful that I will be on a different pump next week!

Yes, I did read your post @PattiEvans - thanks, very interesting / depressing!
I’ve been struggling with Novorapid for about a year and a half now, so I think the algorithm AND the insulin are to blame. I’m hoping I can try another insulin, but there aren’t many options if you stick to the rules (ie use approved insulins only). Unfortunately, my consultant sticks to the rules so Apidra (my fav) and all the ultra-rapid insulins are out of the question.
What I don’t understand is why my consultant didn’t “want to change anything” when I saw her in November, even though I was obviously not coping, and had an A1c of 64 / TIR about 55%. Fingers crossed the DSN can come up with a solution...we’ll see.

Oh what a pain! I had no resistance to carrying on with Apidra when I swapped from the Omnipod Dash and usually my DSN likes to keep everyone on the same insulin and whatever is licenced (strange because when I first went onto a pump the DSN at the time had everyone on Apidra). The current one was trying to get me on Novorapid when I switch to Ypsomed and I looked it up and discovered Apidra was approved for use in it. I think they like whatever makes their life easier!

Can you see if you can get on another pump? I encountered no resistance to that. Thing is there is no contract with Omnipod.

Can you get another appointment with the Consultant and ask again "Why you don't want me to change when I am clearly unable to get best control on the regime I am on?" I honestly sympathise with you (and am angry on your behalf) as I know what a struggle it can be on Omnipod 5. I was better on the Dash and better still on the old Combo pump.

So the weather this morning was horrible, very grey and raining. It's now at least dry with blue patches.

9.5 this morning - low alarm went off multiple times in the night and I ate Dextro and biccies and it still kept on going off every time I fell asleep. In the end I had half a toasted Hot Cross bun in the wee hours!

Today we went to the new Casa Tapa restaurant to celebrate J's birthday (only 5 days late).. took 2 buses in the rain. We were the only people in the restaurant, but what it lacked in atmosphere it made up in the quality of the food and drink. We started with a delicious and well made cocktail each and had 6 Tapas and a nice bottle of wine between us. Fortunately it had stopped raining when we left, so we walked back to town, stopping at an outside table at a restaurant half way for a double Espresso each. We have 6/7 buses an hour through our village, so really if you factor in we have free passes and parking costs £2+ an hour in town and it is practically impossible to park in the village where the restaurant is, it was much more convenient to catch a bus.

@TinaD I think you are very brave and I sincerely hope you can soon use the crutches.

@Lauren love all the Paddington stuff!

Have a good evening all
