i just had to share this - 6 months ago on diagnosis my hba1c was 73. Just had it redone and it’s 40! I’m utterly gobsmacked to say the least! So all that hard work and change has reaped rewards. And all without the dreaded Metformin.
I’ve lost just shy of 2 stone in weight as well and can honestly say I’ve never felt better.
When I started to read up on Diabetes I couldn’t quite believe that I couldn’t eat cornflakes for breakfast but could pig out on bacon, eggs and sausages if I wanted. But I haven’t, instead opting for wholemeal toast with no marmalade.
I realise I still have to be careful but will carry on testing as I have been doing to keep an eye on things.
I might just celebrate with a bar of chocolate - only a small one though!
