I used to listen to Queensryche a lot in the nineties, and I very much identified with the theme of this song when I was diagnosed in '94.

Trivia about the video. There's a scene where Michaels is helped out of the stage apparently having collapsed. He had a hypo during one of their first big shows, because he had had his insulin but was too nervous to eat. This would have been late 80s, so no routine finger testing.
