Yes and no for me as it also sometimes reflects what im playing to lift my mood....sometimes its cos a memory has surfaced from a life time ago and ive gone searching for the music i associate with the memory

That song speaks to me right now. I might be be alone in this, but when I post on this thread I post the song which best reflects my mood in the moment. From amongst the songs I know that is. Sometimes it's easier to vent via the words and music of another:

Unfortunately I can't hear 'Desperado' now without remembering the parody of it by the comedians (including Angus Deayton) who formed the early 1980s 'group' The HeeBeeGeeBees: "Dead cicada, bat guano" .

Well I thought I'd change the tone although I still have my vinyl Simon and Garfunkel.

I very occasionally look at Steve Rosenbergs YouTube channel he is a tenacious bbc journalist based in Moscow who speaks fluent Russian and is an accomplished pianist. I last looked ages ago and saw his chats with a cheerfull Russian lady who sold him daily papers. I knew she had left Moscow. I've now discovered she has been ill and he has recorded and composed a song ( in English) for her. I think it is beautiful
