In general you should be aiming for 4-7 before meals and no higher than 9 by 2 hours after meals.

It can also be very helpful to check before a meal and 2 hours afterwards to see how much the carbohydrates (sugars and starches) have raised your levels. Ideally you should aim for a ‘meal rise’ of 2-3mmol/L. If you get bigger differences between before and after pairs of readings, you might want to reduce the carb content of the meal. 🙂

At the moment it’s saying 6.5

Roast dinner or roast potato, you can only try an see what your bloods are.

As I said they only way to know is try it and test. What person can eat with out much effect, is too much for others.

Test just before you eat, then 2 hours after. It’s the only way you’ll find out - what I can eat will be completely different to what you can, and your figures so far seem so good that you probably just need to eat healthily and cut back on empty carbs like cake, biscuits, and sugar.

You only need to test just before, and 2 hours after.

So what did you last eat?
