Will my doctor order some for me
I'd say no chance, people diagnosed as Type 2 and on Metformin don't get prescribed test strips much so as you aren't actually classed as diabetic you have no hope xx

I’ve got a Pathetic woman doctor who can’t write a Decent letter to home finder about my health conditions. She took me off of two lots of tablets that wasn’t good for me which l now buy over the counter. That’s co-codamol. Which l know you suppose to take for 3 days only but l take them every 4 hours everyday. They keep me going. But l won’t tell the doctor or pharmacist that cause there stop serving me them. I haven’t been myself since l lost my dad last year.

Hi @francisalison45 glad you’re using the Forum for support and looking at changing your diet to help prevent developing diabetes as best you can. The Diabetes UK website has a whole section dedicated to Prevention so please do take a look: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/preventing-type-2-diabetes

The Diabetes UK Helpline is here to help you with any questions or concerns you may have about diabetes so please know that you can get in touch if you need some more support with your diet and anything else diabetes related: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/how_we_help/helpline

You’ve mentioned the pain you’re experiencing hence taking co-codamol. You may find it helpful to speak to Pain Concern who can offer you advice and support with managing pain: https://painconcern.org.uk/

Taking co-codamol often and over a long period of time can be harmful for your body and appreciate you haven’t found your doctor very helpful. Seeing or speaking to another doctor may be useful – they could even refer you to a pain clinic for extra support.

It’s understandable you don’t feel yourself since you lost your dad last year; sorry to hear of your loss. Grief can be very hard to live with. If you need support with this we can look into services which may be helpful for you.

I need help to move to a ground floor flat and no one will help me not even the doctor. Thanks for your concern about the painkillers I’m taking but they put me to sleep.

No l don’t. I’m 3.9 this morning is that low

3.9 is towards the low end of what a person without diabetes might see. Did you feel slightly wobbly?

Thanks for your concern about the painkillers I’m taking but they put me to sleep.

If you are having trouble getting to sleep (not uncommon during grieving) there are other options available.

Could you speak to your Dr about your problems sleeping?
