Hello. I was officially told I was type 2 diabetic today.
I was initially told that I was "pre-diabetic", or had Impaired fasting Glucose levels. But they performed a fructosamine test and that came back with levels of 48-58 apparently.
My hba1c tests don't work for me or give an accurate reading, due to anaemia/problems with haemoglobin, so it looks like I'll be relying on the fructosamine? tests to get an accurate reading. The nurse said that the hba1c test only showed me as 38 - which is normal. But the other tests showed otherwise.
I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem with the hba1c not giving an accurate reading?
