I'm on metfoformin I think 1 a day and I'm still struggling I've joined slimming world this past week to lose weight but feel I'm doing wrong as the groups I'm on say slimming world is pointless and I put a post up of maltwheats I got a telling of I didn't realise at first so I've sat crying todayWelcome @Don75 A diabetes diagnosis is a shock so it’s ok to be upset and stressed by it. Don’t worry though, you’ll get the hang of things gradually.
What tablet are you taking?
You could look at the Learning Zone (orange tab at the top of this page) and also this information for Type 2s:

If you give us an idea of what you ate pre-diagnosis, we can suggest tweaks and substitutions. Most Type 2s find they have to watch the carbs they eat (not only sugar, things like bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc).
Do you know what your HbA1C was (the test used to diagnose you as having diabetes)? That will give an idea of how much you might need to change your diet? Generally, you’re looking at reducing carbs. If you want suggestions for specific meals, just ask, but do tell us the name of your tablet first as that might affect the advice you’re given.

I’d ignore them, if maltwheats are a better breakfast than you had previously then it’s a step in the right direction, even if it turns out in the end that it’s not the final choice of ideal breakfasts.I'm on metfoformin I think 1 a day and I'm still struggling I've joined slimming world this past week to lose weight but feel I'm doing wrong as the groups I'm on say slimming world is pointless and I put a post up of maltwheats I got a telling of I didn't realise at first so I've sat crying today
