The big no-no for me seems to be spuds, even a little bit sends my BG through the roof. Having said that, I don't eat much bread either, two or three times a week maybe, a granary roll with some soup or a bacon butty on Sundays. Occasionally some toast (or a toastie) if I'm low.
Lunch these days is usually some home made soup and a couple of crackers, or like today, a Lemon cous cous salad with char grilled lamb, chopped peppers, onions, sweetcorn and toms. I've got a little bottle of my own chilli oil in the fridge here and I'll stir in a few drops of that just before I eat it to liven things up a bit. I've gone back to oatmeal for breakfast as that seems the safest as far as my numbers go. Last night's tea was some wild mushroom tortellini with a sauce made of low fat cream cheese and grated cheddar. I'm desperately trying to even out the numbers a bit since my sojourn in the hospital recently, even though my highs aren't nearly as high as they were and I'm rarely in double figures now for very long.
Isn't it odd how different foodstuffs affect us in different ways?
