Quick guide to cutting carbs:
Severely restrict potatoes, rice, pasta and bread.
Increase good protein, chicken, eggs, tofu etc.
Limit fruit to berries and test to see how you tolerate.
Wine is fine!!!!
Ignore health food traffic light system on front of packaging about sugar. It's total carbs on rear you need to note as all carbs turn to sugar in your body.
Testing. If you haven't been given a meter buy one. A codefree one on Amazon is cheapest for meter and strips. You test before and 2 hours after food. You are looking for ideal readings
of 4-6 before food and under 8.5 two hours after food. These are ideal, in the early days your target might just be to get into single figures. Note food that spike you i.e. if you are 5 before food and go to 9 after food work out which food is causing the spike.
