My mother has been suffering from diabetic conditions from the last 15 years. She has been on medications mainly Glimepiride and her sugar levels were round about 200 mg/dl most of the times. But since the last few months, her sugar levels have been on the very high side (sometimes exceeding 400 mg/dl with most of the readings in 300-400 range). Endocrinologist put her on insuline (Novomix 30 Flexpin) dosage with initial recommended dose of 20 units in the morning and 14 in the night. After start of administration of Novomix, with her fasting and random sugar levels both still being high, I increased the night dose to 18 and and morning dose to 22. Her morning readings showed below 160 mg/dl but random (after lunch) reading was as st in excess of 300. Since then I have been gradually increasing the morning dose (which now stands at 28) but still her random blood glucose levels are fluctuating between 270 and 360. i wanted to ask if the said dose is enough? Wha if I split the morning dose into two doses of morning and noon (will three pre meal doses of Novomix 30 control the levels) ? Reply will be highly appreciated.
Reading of previous days are hereby detailed for reference:

08-12-2019.. 288 mg/dl after meal.. Insulin: 20 night + 20 morning

09-12-2019.. 200 mg/dl before meal, 369 mg/dl after meal.. Insulin: 16 night + 22 morning

10-12-2019.. 127 mg/dl before meal, 262 mg/dl after meal.. Insulin: 18 night + 26 morning

11-12-2019.. 323 mg/dl after meal.. Insulin: 18 night + 28 morning

Note: she isn't taking any other medicine for diabetes control..

Hello Farah, you need to contact your mothers health care providers as no one on this forum can tell you what dose of insulin to give. I've no idea what country you are in as your measurements are different than the UK's so not sure if you have consultants/GP's or primary care providers or specialist nurses for advice but who ever it is they are the first port of call.

As Sue says, we can't really give medical advice, and insulin doses vary quite widely from person to person, so no-one here can tell you how much to give or when, it's too individual - we all need different amounts. Is there a specialist nurse or someone you can consult about adjusting/changing the dose, or maybe even changing the type of insulin? We use mmol/L as a measurement in the UK rather than mg/dl so most of us aren't going to understand your readings - I think we have to divide them by 17 to get the UK equivalent (but not entirely sure).

Divide by 18 actually. There is nothing wrong in using non-standard units, if it is stated what the units that are being used are, it is a real problem when units are not given.

A number of backward countries, such as the USA, use old units for scientific measurement!

The advice remains the same - we can not give any here! This MUST be done by those who are qualified to give such advice! They will also have access to test results and other data.
