Hi. Type 1½??

I wonder why the Dr at the hospital hasn't done any other antibody tests... seems a bit strange if there's 4 of them! I'll put in a request that they do them all...

It was a non-stimulated blood test.
Your result is high insulin production for a non stimulated test, it’s even high if it was stimulated, at 710 pmol. Mine was about 300 pmol but stimulated, and that was queried as being pretty high for T1. As the doctor said low normal perhaps somethings gone wrong in the writing down of result or conversion

Just had a weird call from my hospital's diabetic nurse asking if I've managed to pick up my prescription for insulin yet!!!!
So i explained last week's appointment, and she went away to speak to the consultant (who I'd seen on my first appointment). Came back ½ hour later saying it was always the consultant's idea to put me on insulin and that they've sent a request through to my GP's surgery to put it on my repeat prescription!!!!!!!!! MY MIND IS BLOWN!!!!!
Apparently my CPeptide has come back a lot lower this time too, probably because I'm not on immunosuppressants any more!!

So sorry to hear you are getting such conflicting medical advice but very pleased and relieved that you are now getting insulin. Have they arranged an appointment to get you started on it and given you dosing advice. It sounds like your clinic is very disjointed.... or perhaps the doctor you saw this last time was a junior doctor with no real knowledge/experience and the consultant has just picked up on their mistake and is rectifying it.

I wonder if these medical "professionals" have any idea how much trauma and anxiety their decisions cause! Your treatment has been really shocking!

Glad that you now have some clarity. I think the insulin will make things a lot easier for you.
Let us know how you get on and which insulins they start you on.
